Ok so I have a couple of questions, I hope someone can help me!

1. Should I pay the $80 biometrics fee along with the I-751 $465 fee? Or can I just pay the $465 and be billed for the biometric's when the time comes? The forms instructions don't make this very clear (but when do they ever)??!!

2. As its been almost 2 years since I last filed an immigration form, where the heck do I get my A# from? I found my A# associated with the photocopies I have of my I-864 package - its on the barcode sheet nd next to the A# it says 'CR-1'. Is that the A number I need or will have another one associated with my original K-3 that is different? Hmmm.

3. How does the affidavit from friends/family work? Can they: A, just type one out and sign it, B, type it out and sign it and take te paper somewhere to be notarized or, C, must they fill out some kind of 'official' form in front of the notary?

4. The 2 passport pic's and fingerprint cards are not for everyone right? Just for overseas military etc (which I am not).

5. I am currently writing the cover letter for the peition but I have started to wonder if it should be the US citizen (my husband) should be writing it?

Sorry for all the questions, we did our whole K3/IR-1 applications ourselves without a lawyer but now the time has lapsed I feel like I don't know what I am doing at all and would reall appreciate someone verifying it for me. I have pregnancy brain!

Thanks :0)

Hi there!
1. I don't know if you can pay for biometrics at a later date -- someone correct me, please, if I am wrong. I sent both fees with the package.
2. Your A# is on your Green Card.
3. Your friends/acquaintances can write out the affidavit (the content is entirely up to them), then go to a notary public and have it notarized.
4. Yup, you don't need to worry about pics and fingerprint cards.
5. I really don't think it matters who writes the cover letter.

Send the entire fee ($465+$80) with your application. They will return your file if you don't send the correct amount.

As to the letter, it does not matter who prepares and signs it. In our case, both hubby and I signed the letter.
