Hi all,
We were just wondering if anyone who has already done their police clearance can help us. Since we've heard international police checks can take so long we are trying ot get a head start on the process. The problem is we have not been able to find the exact requirements. Each country has different forms some with finger prints, some without etc... I need one from UK, Australia, NZ and Canada. Does anyone who has already completed this have any details they can share? Does the packet you recieve give more information? We don't want to wait until then... we'd love to start now if we can. Any info would be greatly appreiciated.

This is good for Australia.
http://usembassy-australia.state.gov/consu...ertificate.htmlFor NZ, they dont actually do a police cert unless requested via govt channels (ie, if the US embassy/govt request it they will provide the information). You can request a copy of your criminal history to show but they may not take that one and have to do the search themselves. It is good to have though and to explain about this as even when I went through Sydney they thought it was a bit odd.

Best of luck.

Thanks very mich for your reply and the links.

We're starting to piece everything together and understand all the steps. I have read that the UK recvently changed the validilty dates to 6 months and the others should be within the year so I think we will hold off just a bit before we send for these. It's still good to understand the process though. It'll be so nice when the process is over (or at least when we will be able to be together)! This forum has been the best information I have found anywhere!
