Hi, If I, the husband, in the USA choose to be agent,
I assume I get the bills, but the forms packets go to
the wife abroad?

If you are the choice of agent, everything comes to you.

Everything will be mailed to the USC petitioner during the NVC process. The Embassy/consulate mail interview packet to the foreign alien spouse, after NVC forwards the case to the Embassy/consulate.

J-Boy,

I concur with simple_male. There needs to be a distinction between NVC and consulate communication. All NVC communication will come to the petitioner/Agent (which is recommended choice by NVC) in the USA and once file is transferred to consulate, all future communication for interview will be sent directly to the Applicant. I recommend to chose the petitioner or someone in family proficient in dealing with these matters as the Agent. This will allow reduced turn-around time for each document that will be requested by NVC. It also avoids lost mail that certain countries may be more prone to.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the reply,,My choice, since my wife and i are miles apart,is that she takes care of her documents, but i would like to pay the fees. The info on the embassy website is clearer than NVC website, so when my wife receives the DS-3032 and doen't pick an agent then she will receive what? DS230...and if i am the agent ,di i receive ds230 and fill it for her and then mail it to her to sign? They just should make the pdf live with a password. I'm getting confused again,,hahaha

have you wife fill out the ds-230 and send to you before you get to that point have her fill it out and sign part 1 and mail back to you if you are the agent they send papers telling you to download from there web site and a cover bar code sheet that need to be sent back with the form any more question let me know

Once again thanks,,!! The folks on this site are really educating me,
I read before I started, used sample forms, and now I'm in it,,
Well , I followed another tip about calling, and found my NVC#,
OK so, I will have my wife Fill in PDF form and sign it and have her mail it to me
and a copy of her passport bio page,, and then i choose mysellf as agent and place barcode
on form and mail it.I appreciate your help.
