Post your "VJ Friends" who have your contact info here. The main purpose for this is so that in an emergency, these people can communicate with the board what is going on with you. For instance, people were frantic wondering how Luz was doing. With a few people who have your cell phone #, they can get updates and post for you while you're away. Also, if you disappear from the board, they can check up on you to make sure everything is ok.

A somewhat simpler option might be to merely use Facebook, since that can project one's phone number to only "allowed" parties. I know there's a VJ FB group, but of course, that'd require everyone to sign up (if they aren't already on there) and divulge their true identity. Some people may not wish to do that, which is very understandable.

Not really. I think the best idea is to spread it around a little bit. See who is already listed here and then maybe contact some of your other friends who aren't listed yet about it. I'd also say keep it to a maximum of 4; otherwise it WILL be just a BFF list.

However, you do know that you can set the options on Facebook so that your phone number (among other details) are only visible to those on your friends list, correct? I'm asking because these options aren't immediately apparent nor are they extremely intuitive.

Rocinante and Trailmix have my cellphone number in case of an emergency. I was saying in the Luz thread that there was a member in the Canada Forum who disappeared after she moved here and I worry about her every day. I regret never having asked her for her phone number.

Another thought. It might be a good idea to ensure that at least one or two of the contacts in our networks be outside our own states, in case there's a natural disaster or such that might hinder local calls.
