One more day to *drum roll* Baby Day! Is everyone ready to become aunties?

Cute story: Ahmed was playing with the bassinet tonight, testing the lights, mobile and music to make sure its good enough for baby. He was getting all wistful looking at the Winne the Pooh animals on the mobile, and told me their names as best he could remember them "This is Tiger, Dunkee, and Pork". I nearly wet myself laughing.

Don't forget the camcorder or digital camera so she can capture the moment her husband has to change a messy diaper ....that might be one for the books, lol.

A little. Im not so worried about being cut open or having needles poked in me, thats no big deal. Ive been poked, prodded, and cut open more times than I can count. I think my biggest concern is nursing. I dont know why, but all of the sudden Im so paranoid he wont take the breast. Of all the ridiculous things that could fly through my mind laughing.gif

I think hubster is wayyyyy more nervous than me. Poor thing needs a tranquilizer.

I may faint if he actually changes a diaper laughing.gif. Ive never imagined him doing such a thing.

Thanks for all the good wishes everyone. Im glad Ive got some peeps to share my excitement with. I wish we all lived closer so you could come see the baby in the hospital.

But Ive got my bag packed (over packed) and my aunties (and chad) on standby. All I need to do now is figure out how to put the carseat back together laughing.gif

Ive always planned to nurse, and Ahmed's gung-ho on it. (Insert TMI warning here) The faucets have been on for months, but Im just having last minute jitters. I talked to mom last night and that helped ease my fears. I just have to remember there's nothing wrong with giving formula if thats what it comes down to. As long as he gets plenty to eat, thats what matters.

Something you may want to talk to the nurses about before your section is to not let them put anything in the babys mouth....(pacifier, sugar water) Also, it seems a lot of nurses are all into putting a silicone shield over your breast while you nurse. All of the above happened with my son and he never nursed. They tried the stupid silicone nipple, nipple shields and after 6 weeks, my baby crying because he was hungry....me being a wreck....I finally said forget it! Later I learned that once they get the feel of a pacifer or another bottle nipple in their mouth, they want. Bottle nipples and pacis don't require a lot of sucking power and the breast does. With my daughter I made it very clear that I didn't want anything in her mouth period and she was like a hoover. Nursing at first is not easy so if you really want to do it, you have to stick with it. It probably took a good 2 weeks before I really know what I was doing with my daughter. Best of luck tomorrow! You'll do fine!
charles!
me finally here. snow this morning knocked out the internet, then shoveling and more shoveling ranting33va.gif

aww..yayyy!!

i wish you alll the best!! if you ever need anything--my sister's a labor and delivery nurse...

my sister nursed for about a year and a half--it was painful sometimes...but alhamdulillah, her daughter was very very healthy--she rarely got sick...she also gave her formula, but she nursed most of the time...she says it makes you closer to the baby..but i remember it was really bad sometimes when her daughter didn't want it because she would have to pump the milk instead--she used the Avent pumper...anyway, i'm babbling...

i pray you have an easy delivery and sooon you'll have your little bundle of joy in your arms! luv.gif

all the best!! heart.gif
