Hey RSA... Congratulations on your visa ... So when are you flying to your honey??

I was told that my case was put in Admin Processing on 05th and Visa issued on 06th... Guess that makes it the shortest AP ever, just 24 hrs

Well its all over now and I am celebrating with all of you guys... Lets continue this association at the AOS stage and further too

I just got news from my fiance. He had his interview in Mumbai a few hours ago. It was good news!!!! Yay! The visa should be on it's way soon! I don't have all the details, but he said that it was very relaxed and an easy process.

Just a small update: My wife is here in the U.S as of March 10th, 2008. POE was LAX. The U.S. entry experience was fairly smooth. She was asked just a few basic questions and that was it.

Hi all,

I am finally in US!!! I arrived here on 14th. The journey details is as follows:

At Hyderabad Airport I was asked to fill Immigration/Customs form. Then the Immigration/Customs guys verified my ticket, my passport and my VISA. The guy who did it wasn't aware of K1 visa. So he cosulted the officer in charge there. Then I was through.

The POE Chicago was also smooth. I already filled the I-94 and Customs form in flight itself. Then I submitted I-94 to the Immigration guy at Chicago. I was asked only one question "Why am I here in US?" to which I replied that I am on K1. Then he opened the documents did some checking. Then took my finger prints and said "thanks. You are done".

Then I collected by baggage and then went for Customs check where I handed over the Customs form. Then straight to my connecting flight to Salt Lake!!!

Overall it was smooth experience.

WOW!!! It is such a wonderful feeling to be married to the person you have waited soooooo long to be with. What makes it even better is knowing that all my friends on VJ share my happiness and that we all have finally made it. All of us have moved into this phase in life and we have done it together with each other's help

I applied for my SSN card today... waited 2 weeks so their system was updated.. which it was .. It was a pc of cake. Shld get the card in 2 wks.. She gave me 'authorised to work with DHS's permission - which I guess is the EAD... Sweet, so I do not have to get the status changed..
Also got my militay IDs for being an Infantryman's wife and the credit cards (so am added on all his accts and have a savings one of my own)
