My wife just noticed today that window 37 handed her a MNL-IV-22 with a check next to the words, WAIT UNTIL YOU HERE FROM US:

The top states We are unable to complete the processing of your immigrant visaapplication until you present the following documents:

No documents are checked. Has anyone received or have knowledge of this document?

I have spent almost 40 minutes in international calls trying to reach USEM.

You probably came across this already:

If the Consul asks the applicant, at the interview, to present additional evidence or documents to prove his eligibility for a visa, but he fails to submit that evidence within one year of the Consul's request, the visa application/registration is considered to have been terminated. For example, a person may go to the U.S. Embassy for interview, and the Consul gives them a form (called an MNL-IV-22) requesting that, under Section 221(g), the person bring additional documents, such as a birth certificate, marriage contract, proof of family relationship, etc. If the person failed to submit that evidence requested by the Consul within one year, the visa application/registration could be canceled.

Did she have all required documents?

Yes, and she was not asked for any more documents. No documents are checked on the MNL-IV-22. Under 221g a petition can be denied and returned to the US.

I finally got a live person at USEM and was told the Embasy was closed, please call back tomorrow.

Thanks Jim and Heidi. Do you know the reason since it is not an US or Philippine holiday?

Anyway, for an update I called the Department of State. The Visa Expert (?) stated no documents are being required and the vise is under review. It appears we join the group in AR hell.

The reasons for Administrative Review can be for many different reasons. But, my hypothesis is that it is for document verification. The man at Window 37 asked Meryll to pay the visa document fee a second time and the top of the form is written fee paid. The fee was paid on January 7 and DELBROS was texted. It makes more sense to believe the process is working poorly than to believe the US Embassy is deliberately trying to collect the fee twice.

I'm sorry to hear that you are under AR. They probably need to check on some things further or didn't finish document verification in time (like what you said). It can take at least 4-6 weeks so all you need to do now is keep on making follow up calls.

Hope you won't get stuck for so long in AR jail. Good luck!

Did your wife pay the doc verification fee at the window of 650 php? if so then you are waiting for the doc veifications. It could be one month before they are finished with that. If you paid the fee of 650 at mterobank a few weeks before the interview, then you are in AR and they are checking on something in your petition.

She was asked to pay the fee a second time at window 37 and yes we are in AR. Hopefully, Ms. Grace can inform us why. Thanks Chris.

Questions the DOS Visa Expert (?) could not answer are: why use a 221g request for documents if no documents are being requested and why hand write fee paid at top of form if they already verified docs? I may never know for sure, but it looks like we are being treated as if the doc verification was not paid. I could be totally wrong, but this makes the most sense.

Hi edp333!
The embassy employees have a seminar to attend to on 2/13/07....That was why they told me to pick up my visa on the 14th and not on the 13th.....
sorry about the whole situation...i feel for you... sad.gif
edp333
Thanks Honeybear. This process has been one delay after another.

I spoke with Grace and it is document verification. Figuring four to six weeks from February 6 and waiting for the consular to get around to finalizing the visa we will miss our wedding anniversary for sure.
mikeandlani
sorry to hear about the delay. on the matter of paying again for document verification, i remember during my interview, a young girl was being petitioned by her mom, and was asked to pay the document verification fee twice since they needed to check both her mom and her bioligical father's records as well.

i hope you get your visa in hand soon, in time to make it to your wedding anniversary. will continue to include you in my prayers. God bless!

DELBROS was called today and they have been sitting on our document verification for 5.5 weeks. They forwarded the information today.

My suggestion is to call DELBROS after you pay the doc verification to make sure they have sent it to the Embassy.

I'm sorry Ed. I will pray that you make it to your wedding anniversary.

That is a very good question I had to discover on my own. The MNL-IV-22 is a form used by the Embassy to request further evidence (documents) before the visa will be issued. The form states you have one year to provide the evidence or the visa will be cancelled. In our case no documents were requested and the form was used to inform us that the visa is under Administrative Review (AR). From other's experiences on VJ an AR can last from 2 days to 2 years.

hi edp333. i just wanna ask when was the last time u made a follow-up with delbros? youre under AR for 8 weeks now since your feb 6 interview. there could be something wrong with one of your documents that they need to verify. like what ive heard from somewhere that someone gave a fake cenomar, the girl's previous marriage was said to be annuled. for 8 weeks just for document verification? wow, its very disappointing...there could be something wrong with a certain documents to be verified. your experience gives people here the knowledge on what to do best so as not to end up nin the same situation and we thank u for that, but on the other hand, others who are currently under AR are somehow getting scared and worried. so i hope u could post here the new updates on your situation like when was the last time u called delbros or the USEM and what were their answers and what have u been doing and who u have been calling.

ive noticed too that your on k3 and others on the same situation like you are on cr1. so do u think k1 applicants under AR is no difference?
thanks for your time to read. i really hope u would have time on replying to this coz i tried to talk to u twice on other posts but i didnt get any reply. just want to hear from u.i hope u dont mind.

ill include u in my prayers.
