It looks as though the 3 month old writers' strike may be resolved today, pending final approval from the WGA ! What American films or TV shows do you enjoy together? My hababi likes the Simpsons (or yellow people as he refers to them!) Also anything with action or karate!

YES, JENN! Since many of you have posted that your SO early assumptions of America were perceived thru the rose-colored lense of Hollywood, I was curious as to what those shows or films were! I was explaining to my hababi how much I missed the sense of family that I experienced when I was with him, enjoying meals with the relatives and talking and laughing for hours until the meal finally ended with sweets and that awesome mint tea! He replied with, "Oh on TV all the Americans eat as a family!" This is just one example of how our culture is misrepresented on TV, but if that is their only exposure to American life, it's easy to see how those conclusions could be drawn.
