Full Version: experimental IV fee bill

indianheart
I am going to be adventerous and sent the experimental IV fee bill. I called NVC this morning and it has been generated (02/11/2008). I have spent a lot of time working on the bill to make it look as though the printer at NVC pulled the paper too far and cut off the barcode at the bottom with the mystery number. my husband and I figure the worst that could happen is they will send it back and we really wont lose any time (if we wait for the bill that could take 2 weeks). it will go out today and we should here next tuesday yes.gif .
I will keep you posted as to when it is accepted (only possitive thoughts and lots of prayers innocent.gif )
Jigi

Indianheart you're officially nominated as "Noble Adventures Pioneer of Experimental Immigrant Visa Fee Bill".
Good luck to you, hopefully Chris P. shortcut works as well as James' one.

blush.gif Thank you.
It is desperation that makes me do this...I miss my husband and really want us to spend our first wedding anniversary together.
I have to say that James shortcuts have been wonderful, my husband still has not received the DS-3032 so we would still be waiting to move to the next step.
I have to thank you to James and to Chris P.

I'm great fan of James as well smile.gif . NVC takes their time before they really mail documents. Yesterday our DS230 was generated and probably my husband wouldn't receive it until end of February. Instead, thank you James again, he is sending it today.
Good luck with speeding rest of your journey. We have to spent our second anniversary apart and it was very sad day.
I wish you being together on your first.

Just occurred to me... hope you increased the IV fee to $400! The IV fee shortcut needs updating for at least that.

Actually, trailmix is the one who talked me into posting the IV fee bill. She went through a lot hell with NVC back in October/November.

Then I must thank both of you. I was aware of the fee increase and changed the IV bill to to also reflect that.
I started to work on this last week when I called NVC and they told me the I-864 had been mailed(still not recieved by me) and that the IV fee bill would be sent this week (I asked them what paperwork they had mailed me...they volunteered the information)I printed the bill with 02/11/2008 and low and behold that is the date it was generated.
so now to wait the long week for the next update to the automated phone system ClockWatch2.gif .

i really hope this works for you! my husband won't even try the shortcuts for the AOS fee bill. we used JSC for the DS3032 and although it worked (we wrote the case number at the top of the page), he would rather wait for the other forms to arrive in the mail instead of generating barcodes. so at this point, our AOS fee bill is sitting in his mailbox in the US while he has been holidaying here in singapore!!! laughing.gif

let us know how it goes.

They actually do not even send you a blank I-864 or a blank DS-230!

They just send a cover letter directing you to download the forms from their website (really!) and the barcoded coversheet to use to return the form to with supporting documents back to them.

So, while I respect your decision to wait for the forms from NVC through the mail, you really aren't waiting for much and should at least get the forms signed and filled out before you get the instructions from NVC, because they aren't going to send you the actual forms.

where did you find IV fee bill cover letter example. Jame's shurtcut doesn't give the letter
coolgt
paying the IV bill doesn't need the cover letter

all it does just a stub to paid
but the only thing that everyone doesn't want to do is the random number after your case at the bottom of the stub

here is the link that gave me the fee bill...if you use this remember to change the fee from $380.00 to $400.00 (although with all the people getting an rfe for not paying $400 I think the bill they are being sent is the bill for $380...I didnt want to take the chance and changed it to $400, just a thought that came to my mind after i sent it). blink.gif

Hello all,

First of all, thanks to everyone who have come up with these shortcuts and are still actively working towards improving them!!! We all appreciate your efforts and are definitely benefiting from them.

I have read on here that the IV fee bill has been raised to $400. I am wondering if anyone is aware of what the updated break-ups are (i.e. the application processing fee and security surcharge). I have downloaded IV fee bill from Chris P's topic and have completed it with the top bar code and other information. hopefully indianheart will give us a good news about experimental bill being successful and we can all follow quickly.

Indianheart - it would be helpful if you attach a copy of the IV fee bill you sent with the bottom bar-code pushed to the right margin where the last 9 digits appear to get cut by the printer. If your strategy is successful, we can all start using your template to make ours look similar. Thanks and all the best to you! My prayers and wishes are with you!!!

I advanced the page beyond the bottom margin so the last line of the address was cut off in the middle....I tried to duplicate the same margins and have had much trouble but I managed to get a good bill in order to send.
as soon as I know anything I will certainly post...as of today the check is still uncashed (so what does that mean when I hear it takes between 10 and 14 days to process this one).
stay tuned for the rest of the story wink.gif

just another little bit of information for you as I have been so frustrated with the wait on thisw IV fee being processed. I have been told several things by different people at NVC, Iwas told the fee had been sent back to me on the 26th of feb, then I was told that it wasnt, then I was told that it was again by a different person. tonight I have been told that because it was the correct amount it would be processed but it would be longer because it was missing the barcode bill (and we know it wasnt missing the bill just the bottom barcode). Now it has been one full month since I mailed it out and still not processed (the only thing that is keeping me from climbing the walls is my husband is trying to get his PCC, Indian government doesnt move fast either).
I am posting the number on the bottom of my bill (the mystery number at the end of the case number) for those big brains out there to work on solving the code.
-020392980 from my timeline signiture you should have enough information to make a correlation if there is any. good luck

We determined already that the mystery number is an incrementing serial number. This serial number does not appear on any other bill or correspondence received from NVC. So the mystery about it really was (and is) if is actually used in the processing of the fee payment or not.

Out of curiosity, I also would like to know if it later appears on the Immigrant Visa packet data sheet, and I wasn't able to determine on my own case because although I asked the beneficiary to make a copy or transcription of the data sheet before they entered with the immigrant visa, they didn't do it. Nevertheless, even if it does appear there, it wouldn't be helpful for this shortcut because obviously people need to know the serial number before they get the immigrant visa.

I'm sorry to hear all the frustrations you've been having. It definitely sounds like there is unnecessary confusion going on at NVC (after all, they know they have your payment), and it may be time to start asking for a supervisor to get the matter resolved and the payment posted.
indianheart
that was how I found out that they have the payment and it wont be mailed back to me (I didnt talk directly to a supervisor but the operator put me on hold and then came back with that information). apearently it is in MO and not at the NH office. I have been thinking of making a call to NVC a regular thing till this is resolved (the squeeky wheel gets the oil) but then I have a fear that this could make things worse. right now I dont know what to do for sure, still in the planning stages.

The check is definitely in Missouri, you should demand they either post it to your case or return it as unpostable. Holding a check for weeks for no reason accomplishes nothing for anyone! I don't think bugging them regularly is going to make things worse---they are not doing their job.
