Hello, everyone!
I have some good news...apparently, my NOA1(1year extension) had been sent on Feb. 21 to my attorney and he just sent it out to me, I got it in today's mail, and the date on it says Receipt Date--Feb 19, Notice Date--Feb 21...they are working pretty fast so far..xx crossing my fingers xx...they sent me an extension notice even before cashing the check--nice:)...I hope everything goes nice and smooth for everyone else...Good Luck!!!

Hi...just wanted to let you know that I changed my profile name--used to be natalyok and now it is Armenian Goddess(my hubby calls me this:)...that's all I had to say:)...didn't want to confuse anyone;)

Not to burst any bubbles or anything, but a quick NOA1 is no indication of how quickly they will actually adjudicate a petition. TSC gave us an NOA1 date of the day they actually received the petition. Ten months later, they had still done nothing, and sent it with all of the other old TSC petitions to VSC . . . .

BTW, your new name would have been a lot cooler written in l33t rather : 42m3n14n 60dd355

James just a couple of suggestions. Is there any way to find out when some of the people listed actually logged on so that maybe we can put a ? mark on their status because maybe some of them have already been approved just never got to update this list...?
Secondly, it might also be a good idea to get the moderators to pin this post to the top so that its easy to find. New people may not even notice this list exist if they are just going through the recent posts and if this list was not updated recently...

I also wanted to ask about travelling outside of the US with the extension letter, is it recommended or not really?..I would really love to visit my brother some time in september?! What do you, guys think?..has anyone done so with the NOA1?

reagrding travelling wiht the extension letter - that is the biggest reason i am so eager to get this thing over with. having heard so many horror stories about uscis there is NO WAY i am taking any chances travelling and coming back accross the border without green card in hand - no matter what that any piece of paper or stamp says. and what if your case gets denied while you are abroad? yeaaahhh, i think i will sit tight for now, thanks!!!

Still waiting on VSC to look at our petition. We had the biometrics on 9-7-07. Case was last touched on 9-10-07, after the biometrics were done. I've seen a few approvals near our NOA1 date of 8-22-07, so hoping something happens soon.

Many people (including myself) have traveled using the expired GC and the extension letter (some going the extra step and getting the I-551 stamp in their passport), and had no troubles at all.

I was so hoping to have heard some good news about my case but well we are now into our 8th month maybe we will be approved before the 1 year anniversary of filing....

Updating for Gemma's approval . . . glad for her personally, but you have to question why VSC is adjudicating petitions that were filed six months after petitions that remain unadjudicated. CIS does a GREAT job of showing immigrants one of the basic tenets of this country, i.e., that government treats similarly situated individuals equally.

not selfish just what is... if the TSC transfers had not happened then we would have been approven by now... so I can understand why some could feel a bit pissed... but hey you are in the line in front of us now so let hope they hurry up and get all you approved so we can get approved or we will end up in the same situation as you did.... and as you have told everyone that is not a good place to be...

The mere act of transferring added yet another month to our wait, based on the fact that we are only now seeing approvals from the TSC transfer list.

Methinks, based on how quickly (relatively speaking) TSC transferees are getting approved right now, I think things will get back to normal at VSC very soon and then people won't be so upset anymore.

My comments were meant to point out the incompetence of USCIS and not say "me first". As you can very well see I said "They are working backwards..." not why are they processing somebody else's application first. If USCIS in general was doing what it was meant to do, we would not be having this conversation. On one hand you have CSC which is processing applications in 3 months. On the other hand you get TSC and NSC who are not processing anything at all and then you get VSC which seems to have no idea how to handle the extra load. For example, for VSC dealing with this a better option would be to process some of each, the transfers as well as people who were expecting their applications to be processed in time. The way they are doing it will now make BOTH the transfers as well as local applicants to wait longer. Or maybe USCIS should not transfer anything to VSC at all which has a hard enough time processing its own applicants. OR MAYYBEE if you want to be absolutely honest, then they should have a global database of applicants with one location which processes all applications regardless of where you filed from. But if they are going to have a multi-site system then they need to have enough staff at the site you applied at to process your stuff and not cover their incompetence by transferring stuff around. When you apply for a driving license at a DMV it doesn’t move it to another DMV because of load. On one hand they are sending all the funding to CSC to cover up the immigration mess in California and on the other hand they are screwing up everybody else. That was my point. I hope I made myself clear and if you still have a problem with what I said you need to find some counseling help and also drug testing.

I didnt intend going for a record on joining lists in 1 forum, but my application to TSC has this notice

"Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: This case has been sent to another office for processing because it has jurisdiction over the case.

On March 21, 2008, we transferred this CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED to our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location for processing because they now have jurisdiction over the case. We sent you a notice of this transfer. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done. This case has been sent to our VERMONT SERVICE CENTER location."

I hope this doesnt upset the genuine VSC applicants, sadly as we all know this system seems totally inept and all we can do is hope for eventual approval. TSC doesnt appear to even send notices now, I have no NOA and the only way I found out the application was transferred was by calling and asking to be put through to an immigration officer, who gave me the receipt number.
