Hi Misty,
Good to hear from you!
Well alll in all a very frustrating week for the I-601 trackers club eh??
I just don't know what goes on down there in the London USCIS office!
As my beloved said maybe next week will be more eventful, god I hope so!!
Anyway guys I'm off to beautiful Scotland tomorrow for my final thesis exam on the Tuesday morning, getting really nervous about the whole thing already
Still I hoping for good news, and even more from London soon, really hope the USCIS office will get some more London cases under reveiw soon
oh well (gulp) wish me luck guys, will be back on Friday!!!

Hi everybody
Hi
Bailey/Vicky... I can see that you are online too

hope you are enjoying your weekend.
MistyB,no I didn't call that number, because I am on the list too

it's been a while on the list now, so I didn't call them, sorry that I cannot help you with the comparison. But that lady you talked to sounded so nice, yea... some of them are very nice and helpful
It's nice to see that they actually completed the Copenhagen case within May 3rd - May 12th, but if they still complete 1 case every week, I still don't see how they could make the 12-15 weeks limit??? I think that they need to pick up speed and complete 2 cases every week

he he
I hope like everyone else that next week will be much more eventful.

And Good luck to you
Paul, hope everything goes well
Take care everyone....

Hi Courtney,
Yeah I think I figured out the reason I couldn't view the updates on Friday. I was checking it at work and for whatever reason it was still showing May 3rd. When I got home I saw the update showing May 20th. Seems to to me the only thing the waiver list is good for, is to show you your case is on the list. It doesn't seem to be very reliable as far as showing which cases are being worked on and I kind of think that they probably don't put completed on there until the person is already notified of the results. I guess it's just to keep us busy looking and maybe keep us from calling and bugging them. lol
Misty, Thanks for the congrats on filing our waiver. Sounds like things are going well for you guys. Hope you like your new job and that your husband finds one soon so he won't be driving you nuts.

I'm sure it's a little stressful for him moving over here and living apart from you guys and now having to look for another job. It's sounds like your making progress and I'm sure you both will be working in no time.
Paul,
Oh I wish you the best of luck on your exam and hope you hear something soon about your waiver. Wow with all this going on can you imagine the thrill of getting positive results on both about the same time?

You will have about a weeks worth of celebrating to do.
Beetee,
Oh glad you finally figured out something with the phone number that would have been driving me nuts. We were so hoping that it was them trying to get hold of you for an approval. I'm sure that will be coming soon though. Yeah..... not much flower planting here this year. I think I'll leave that to him for next summer. He does love doing that and I'm not much good at it so I don't see the point in planting when he will probably move and change things around next summer.

Guess I can't help planning on him being here this fall. I have to keep a positive attitude and go ahead and plan on him being here. It's so hard to think that they would not approve him and to think of what we would do then. We haven't even discussed a plan B so I have no idea what we would do it that happened. Guess all any of us can do is keep a positive attitude and continue with our plans.
Hope things are going well for everyone and hopefully someone will hear something soon. Whaaaaa....

I want to see our case number on the list. Even if it does sit there for months and months.

Vicky,Don't worry you'll be on the list soon - you guys submitted it 5/5 right???, if it takes about 2 weeks to get added on the list, then you'll most likely be there this Friday *crossing my fingers for you*

When he comes in fall, it might be too late to do the gardening and stuff, you are probably right, having to wait for next year, then he can show you what wonders he can do to a garden
Oy I'm feeling all blue this Sunday, could be that the sunshine has gone away for a while, it rained yesterday...geeez. And I'm missing my hubby sooo much

I'm tired of looking at the webcam and blowing kisses to my pc screen, I want to hug him instead.
Well, I guess you are all missing your S.O. other too, it's so sad huh

I think that they should have made it possible for aliens to wait in the US with the USC while the papers are processing - at least that would save some people from going insane from all the waiting and waiting .......
Oh well, just wanted to rant a bit hehe..
Do any of you have cats??? My cat is going to have kittens soon, and I was wondering if any of you have been through that before, might have some tips for me
Take care now

Hi, guys. It seems like we're all feeling about the same way! Cas and I just are feeling at the end of our ropes with this. We're so weary of being apart, being in limbo, stressing about when we'll be (hopefully) approved and we'll be able to be together again. Ten weeks tomorrow, and yet they don't seem to be doing too much in the way of working on anybody's case! What is going on over there? Why has it suddenly ground to a halt?! It's beginning to make me crazy. Crossing my fingers and praying really hard this week we'll at least be under review. Hope everyone has a great week! Good luck to you, Paul!

Hi Tiff, wow you're already on the 10th week? what date did you submit your waiver?.... just curious

Don't worry I bet it'll be under review this week
I don't know what they are doing in London either, I think that it has slowed down a bit. I wonder how they can keep the 12-15 weeks if they don't pick up speed. They have to work on 2 cases a week and not 1 case per 2 week, right??!! Bummer......... I'm just tired of waiting, mine has been 5+ weeks for Copenhagen to London and now 2 weeks on the list, that's almost 2 months and I'm waaaaaaaay up there on the list
I really hope that it'll be an eventful week with the London list
Have you made room for him and his stuff yet?? Imagine if you havent yet, and you guys get approved this week...ha ha, streeeessss - but the good kind
Take care now all, and let us know if there's anything new

Aww hang in there Tiff,
Just when you don't think you can take any more.............well that seems to be when the news finally comes. Dig down deep and find some way to keep going. I know it's sooooooooooooo hard but don't give up. Your so close now and I'm sure it will be any day now. See if you can find something to keep you from thinking about how bad you are both missing each other. Concentrate on how good it will be to finally get this part over with. Wish I could help somehow ....but I know there is nothing anyone can say or do right now.

Now if we could just get someone in London to actually look at our case, that would be some dang yummy icing. You know, it's too bad we all live so far apart. It would be so great to be able to get together and have a big celebration once we're all together with our loved ones.
Jpkeswim, congrats on your move too! You're in for a real adventure, I think. Are you just so excited to be able to see your fiance after all this time!? I know we're counting down the days until we'er married. We decided to move it back to the 22nd of July, so there's only 68 days left! That's sounds so close.

Hey guys.
Sounds like everyone is doing well. Congrats to you Paul. That's one hurdle you have leaped over with flying colors. Now it's time to get through the other one. Just how much good news can you handle in one week? I hope so much that you get to find out.
Jpkeswim. How excited you must be. I know you so much wanted for him to join you here but think of everything you will get to experience over there. You will have that to keep in your memories forever. As they say........something to tell the grandkids. lol Have fun while your out exploring. Soak it all in so when you guys do get to come back to the states you will have lots of stories to tell your friends and family. Oh and you might like hearing this. When my fiance filed his waiver the people at London said that they prefer that you write your own letter instead of using a lawyer. I guess they would rather hear it from your own words. Well at least I hope they weren't just trying to make us feel better since we didn't use a lawyer. lol
Anyway...........good luck and best wishes on your move. And you keep in touch also. Let us know how it's going with you both.
Well we still haven't got our postcard from London. Hoping it will come this week. I don't know why but I think I'm ok with the wait, I just want to know that they have everything and I want to see our number on the list. After that I think I'll be able to just sit back and let things take their course. (Ok that's what I'm saying for now) I will still check the list everyday no matter what. It's just a habbit now.

Do you think they heard us? I can't understand it either. I'm just a little frustrated by the lack of movement on the list. It seems all they're really working on are the cases from other embassies. I guess I just keep hoping and trying to think positive. And yes, it's eleven weeks next week! Sometimes I can't believe it's been that long.
That's a good attitude to have, Vicky. I'm sure by the end of this week you'll be on the list. It took three weeks for us to finally get there. I think they sort of take their time at the embassy side of it!

Hey guys,

well Vicky it's not a bad idea but I don't really think they would give me any info. I haven't heard of anyone who got information or updates from that office while they were waiting for the waiver to be processed, remember that e-mail template that they send out saying not to e-mail them while you're waiting for your waiver?.
Tiff, I can understand your frustration but I don't think anything can be acheived by e-mailing them, although I wish you the best of luck.
Unfortunately, the facts are that me and Tiff are still only at 11 weeks (plus a few days) and I guess we won't start to really hear something until the end of the month.

ok here's how bored I am at work............ I calculated how long the four cases have taken from the original received dates (that they used to post when they first did the I-601 tracking doc) to todays date and here are the results:
received date
LND2004 752 002 - 1/3/2006 - London – Completed 28/4/06 (12 weeks and 2 days)
LND2005 514 017 - 27/2/2006 - London – Under review (12 weeks and 2 days)
STK2003 364 003 - 13/2/2006 - Stockholm - Completed 21/4/06 (9 weeks and 4 days)
STK2005 215 003 - 7/2/2006 - Stockholm – Completed 6/4/06 (8 weeks and 2 days)
Of course I'm not telling you anything you haven't worked out already, but it's interesting to note that the London cases are around the 12 week mark. That 514 017 cases should definately be complete VERY soon.

Munchkins,
The cases that come in from other countries to London are adjudicated faster. They are done in original accordance to their filing dates. If filed before one in London is then once received it is bumped up.
My timeline was filed originally on September 12, 2005. Finally sent to London Dec. 16th. London received Jan. 3rd. and was adjudicated by Jan. 25th. So we waited over 4 months.

Hey guys, I'm new to this site and filing from the London embassy.
My questions are:
1) What is the process and time-line from the time the NVC sends your approved I-130/Visa number to the London embassy?
2) After they receive it, does anyone know how long it takes to receive the packet3 and the full process and time-line with the handling of it.
3) At the time of the Initial Interview and they determine my ineligibility, can I file the I-601 right there on the spot, or do I require an appointment?
I know I will need an I-601 and I'm trying to assess the total time frame up to the point of application of the I-601 which should take 12-15 weeks.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Welcome! Let's see. I can't speak to the time line of an I-130 because we were a K-1, but from the time the London embassy received our case to when he got the packet the packet 3 was maybe a week or so. After he sent it back, it was like a month until we received an interview date. At the interview he could have submitted the 601, but needed another police certificate. You can pay for it right then with credit card or bank check. It's $265. They require in London that you both submit hardship letters, one from the UK citizen and one from the US citizen. If it's a crime involving moral turpitude, they will also ask you to submit an explanation of the crime and any circumstances surrounding, also any rehabilitation. Ummmm. . . what else? Also make sure to include in your letter that your wife is aware of the reasons that a 601 is needed. We are at week 12 ourselves. So we're hoping to hear something realllllly soooon! Getting very anxious!
Anyway, good luck. Don't hesitate to ask questions once you get closer to time.

Hi Knight.
Boy it's kind of hard to answer your timeline questions. It changes off and on during the year but you can try this link to a thread
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=120 If this doesn't work go the the embassy forum and there is a UK thread with several timelines on there. Everything should work the same as far as your timeline, up until you file the waiver.
As Mary said, yes you can file right there on the spot. After they tell you that you are ineligible you can tell them that you are prepared and have the I-601 and hardship letter ready. They will tell you to have a seat then call you back up while they go over all your paperwork to make sure everything is in order. If they determine that you have all the paperwork required you pay the fee. They will explain to that they will not keep your passport at that time. If you visa is approved you will be sent a note to post your passport back to them and they will post your visa back as well. They will also keep your waiver there for a few weeks to review it and make their recommendations before they send it on to the the sub office. They will probably tell you it takes about 2 weeks but we have been waiting almost 4 week. When the sub office receives it they will send you a postcard and hopefully you will be added to the online tracking of the waiver. The time they are giving right now is between 12 and 15 weeks but that doesn't start until after you receive your postcard.
Hope that helps a little and you can see my timeline but I'm doing the K-1 fiance visa so i'm not sure how accurate that would be. Also I think things have slowed down a bit since we first started. I kind of planned ours by allowing 3 months for the I-129, 3 months for the medical and interview, 16 weeks for the waiver and then tack on a couple more months for good measure. Sorry that's the best I could come up with. lol
Hope that helps and good luck,
Vicky

We filed in Copenhagen, so we were told to only file 1 hardshipletter from USC pov, we did not submit from Alien (aka ME ) - do you guys think it's going to be a problem since my waiver is adjudicated in London????

I don't think it will be a problem with your application. Anyway normally what happens is that they will get in touch with you if they need any extra information. Tiff's spot on with her advice though, and we should both know as we both got delayed because they wanted two hardship letters and two completed G-325a forms! and, like she said, the USC must state that they know why the waiver is being filed in their letter! i.e., they are aware of the reasons (whether it be CIMT etc) for it being filed.
Have seen the updates, my heart goes out to you Tiff, why are they taking so long with yours???

Your below us right? They should be getting round to filling in the gaps and getting complete's done with those few remaining earlo London cases.
Have a good day everyone

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa,
I don't know if ours is on there or not. I checked before I left for work but there wasn't an update. For whatever reason I can not check it from work.
Can someone tell me what the lateest numbers are?

Or would someone check for me If I pm'd our case number? Curiosity is killing me.
p.s. i hate this computer at work.

WOO HOOOO Vicky, so glad to see that you are on the list

Ha ha.. THE LIST... sounds like something...umm what word should I use
Thanks Paul for the info, that sure helps - I was starting to panic, I think all of this immigration process and personal problems has started to give me a stomach ulcer. Being the doc you are Paul, do you think that too much stress and problems can give a person an ulcer??? I'll be like this soon ---->>

Ha ha

I just thought that emoticon was funny
Vicky, what is up with the computers?? How come one is so slow? That is so odd

Let me go stare at the list a bit

Thanks you everyone for your answers. It does seem like a much longer process than I anticipated from London. And, the UK hardship, well I better start thinking up some hardship of my own... What would be a typical boiler-plate scenario for a UKC experiencing hardship besides medical issues?
I'm just curious...

Yep finally made it on the "LIST" Hey maybe we should think of something else to call it. Maybe we can give it a name and call it the "FRED" Aww I could have been the first to say........" we made the FRED"

We never have got the postcard they said we would get. He will probably email me when he gets home from work and tell me it was in the post.
I don't know why this stupid computer at work doesn't update it. It eventually does but it's usually about a week after it changes. I must have just missed it before I left home. Oh well at least I know we are on there now.
Now we all have to concentrate really hard and get some good news for Tiff. I can't imagine how hard it is for you knowing it could be any day and getting so close. I'm sending positive Mojo and vibes for you. Hang in there just a tiny bit longer.

Knight,
There are PLENTY of posts to help you as to preparing hardship letters for both the UKC and USC (The USC one is more important as far as the hardship thing is concerned)....... see the threads at the top of this forum as to trying to prove hardship etc. and what constitutes hardship etc.... also would definately suggest you go to immigrate2us.net and the I-601 forum as people have actually posted their harship letters on that forum, so that will give you a good idea. If I'm right even Nigel and Rob posted theirs on this forum, so have a look at them.
Of course every case it different, and you really need to decide how best to approach it from you and your fiancee's point of view.
I remember when we first started reading the examples of waivers and were thinking "my god, what would happen if you were two healthy people who had no kids? your're really screwed then!", but you really need to think about how best to make arguments to work for yourself!
hope this helps. I'll try and post our hardship letter on this and the immigrate2us.net forums at the weekend. Every little example helps eh?

THE FRED ....

or just Fred... what do you want to call it Vicky, I'm all game
Vicky, is it the computer at your work that is a little slow... you have got to do something about it, you could miss out on serious news if you have to wait 1 week to get updated

I guess work is not a place to look into private stuff anyways, perhaps that's why it's like that

Lol
I'm getting sooo antsy overhere - I can't wait for something good to happen, and soon !!! I can't imagine how Tiff must feel - I must say that you're handling it very well Tiff
Btw, Knight... or you the same one from I2U ???

Vicky, I'm so glad you're finally on the list!!! Isn't it a strange sort of relief to see your case number just sitting on some list?! Yahooo for you guys!
I can't even say the same for myself. Today I've had a bit of a meltdown when saw the list. Handling it well? I don't know about that, but what else is to be done? I've been wracking my brain trying to think of what could be taking so long? Torture, perhaps? I'm trying to stay positive. At least we're both not down on the same day. That would really suck. I guess it really tests the strength of your relationship, huh? All plans of life on hold until such time as some man/woman who doesn't even know me gets to decide how the rest of my life will play out. That's what I hate the most. I realize Cas has made a mistake, but I just don't see we should have to pay for it for the rest of our lives. You know, I find myself thinking, if they could only meet him and see how good he is, there would be no question! Instead we're reduced to a few pages - well, more than a few- that someone reads about us. Sorry. Feeling a little blue. Maybe tomorrow I'll be able to keep my chins up.
Tiff
