Hi Misty,

Yes I kind of feel that they don't like for people to know about the waiver. The information that you can find is burried very deep and takes a lot of search to find anything. The second time I replied and ask again for the information, the person wrote back and ask for my case number and if I had been denied. Then they would answer my question. I just let it drop. For some reason it creeped me out why they needed this information just to answer a simple question.

Hi Nigel,

Yes I saw this post on the other site. I don't know how she got the approval so quick but it did sound like she might have had a little help somehow or she had a slam dunk letter. Would be interesting to see her letter just to see what was so convencing that it only took a short time to get approved. But hey, good for anyone who gets through this quick!

Have a great day

Baileyj

Morning Paul

Yeah I think we will be using the debit card. A bit of a sheltered child here and I wasn't sure how that would work. laughing.gif

Hummm that's interesting that they ask you how you knew about the I-601. Hope you didn't let the cat out of the bag tongue.gif I've seen on here that some of the staff at some of the embassies read this forum. Kind of makes you feel like "big brother" is watching us. lol

Thanks for the info,

Baileyj

Morning Paul....Yep i think its a bit early dude to contact them yet...if i was you i would at least give them 2 wks then ask....best to use up your 9 lives later rather than sooner..

To Everyone Else...The Immigration will hold there cards close to there chest in Everyway...They will give you little or no Info, so don't think for one second there going to reply back with a solid answer to the Question you put to them..Thats the way Goverment works as a whole! But anything positive info you do get well good on you..

OK SO TODAY IS NOT A GOOD DAY!

I received a letter from the US embassy today telling me that they need two seperate hardships letters. Our letter was two seperate ones combined, 5 pages from the USC and one page from the UKC at the end. I remember asking the guy at the desk whether this was OK and he looked it over and said yeah..... arrggghh
mad.gif I have seen many many examples from applicants that went through London and only ONE had two copies, all the rest had one copy combined!

they also wanted us both to complete two G-325a forms, why??? we filled them out in the original application (I-129f), why do they need others?

That means that I have to send all of these forms to Courtney (who is now in the US) and wait and then re-submit, which puts the whole process back several weeks. Also I'm worried that they may have disregarded our documentational evidence that went with the original hardship letter, and we never photocopied these pages so we only have those original documents!

not a happy camper!

munchkins
Paul, I am so sorry to hear of this, hard enough for you without additional paperwork, can you not scan any paperwork to Courtney, saves loads of time.

At the same time as I can understand you being totally p*****d about this, one good thing will come of it for all those who will go after you. To make sure we have that extra page. Know that does not help you in anyway, but at least you know that they are working on it. keep you chin up Paul, you will get there good.gif

thanks for that munchkins, I'm gonna e-mail Courtney her part of the hardship letters and the G-325a form to her today so she can sign and send it back today, whilst I "beef up" my hardship letter.

still pis#es me off that they ask for two G-325a forms to be filled in, they have four copies of biographic information from the original I-129f application.

Nigel, guess that 2nd of Feb date will be moved forward then eh? I'll keep you all posted on when we get to file (again)

Paul
Baileyj96
Wow so sorry to hear that Paul. I've been trolling on here and the other site for several months now and this is the first time I've heard of them asking for another G325a form to be filled out. Maybe it's time to throw another twist in there since people are starting to figure things out. mad.gif I have seen when some of the personnel moves around, they start asking for different things. Maybe they have a new person doing the waivers. ???

Paul! That's terrible! Now I'm really freaked out as well. They did not ask for Cas to fill out any 325-G form either. Where does it state that they need that anywhere on any instruction form for the I-601?!! Nowhere! That just really makes me so mad. All you who have already filed, were you asked to fill out another G-325? I'm going to be soooo mad if he gets that same letter next week! Why is there so much misinformation on this particular form? I think I agree with Misty and Nigel -- they just don't want us to know this is possible! mad.gif
Well, that just makes me more determined. We'll keep giving them whatever they need and not give up! We'll get there eventually!!!
Have a good day guys,

Paul...I would first Question of why the Embassy needs the G-325 as you submitted this with your 129...
second I would also state that the Officer at the interveiw scanned your waiver and documents and gave the all clear on that day...What im trying to Advise you is....That you must play there games and put them on the spot as you have done everything they ask.....Yes you proberly have to re-submit what they request but at least you will put them in a corner that they are not doing there job in the correct manor..once they feel like you have a valid point they should not delay your waiver application than need be...
I Know this Bloody sucks for you guys with there mind games but toss the ball back in there court and at the same time make them feel guilty if you can...
Also yes the Embassy would require two seperate hardship letters from the USc & Alien yourself....you say you done only 1 page for yourself hmmmm i wonder if theres plenty of info on just one page..if i was you i would beef it up a bit at least 3 pages if you can...
When you re-submit everything give them a cover letter with your concernes about they already had everything which was ask for... and hoping this won't delay your application any futher and the time to process such a waiver should "REMAIN" the same from the date the waiver was submitted..

Paul c....sorry for this crap you and your soon to be wife is going through but i shall leave your date on the waiver list But under (RFE) require futher evidence.. the same cas thats when the Embassy had it....so yes the clock is still ticking, just they want a little more from you....so Dont worry send in what they want at the same time and you "SHOULD" be sorted like Everyone else...

Dont worry RFE in waivers applications are common...

Nige... good.gif

PS.. INPORTANT....Keep copys of Everything! then like now you have something to fall back on when need be...

The day of our interview we were given the 601 form plus a G325a for each of us and instructions for each of our letters. We had prepared nothing ahead of time because we did not think we would be allowed to file a waiver. When they gave us the waiver forms they said we could fill them out and submit them that day but we were too exhausted. We hadn't slept the night before. The tube broke down on the way so we had walked for miles. Also, we had been at the embassy for 4 hours by then and we were starving. We were told to try to hurry up and get everything in within a week.. which we did.

They did get it on the 1st of December.... we sent it special delivery which I was told would not require a signature (didn't want to annoy anyone) but did allow us to track it.

I don't know what to say for the reason... none of those fit exactly. This is what happened... explained in the post I made after the interview.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums2/index.p...c=43106&st=2160

This situation has been a nightmare to say the least.

Thanks for the good advice Nigel,

I e-mailed the embassy yesterday and explained very clearly to them NOT TO THROW AWAY THE ORIGINAL DOCUMENTATIONAL EVIDENCE submitted with the original I-601, so hopefully they should keep this with them.

Nigel I have already "beefed up" my hardship letter to 3 pages and so hopefully that should be OK, Courtney's one was 5 pages and was fine. Mary and Tom: that's interesting that they said the same thing to you about the G-325a forms, why they need this info at this time completely baffles me!

Nigel, I will do what you say about the cover letter, hopefully Courtney's forms will be back with me again early next week and so I can send them off straight to the Emabassy then (special delivery?)

Also just one point I should mention that we didn't include in our original hardship letter and that SHOULD be included. Always start the letter of with the paragraph "I/we are aware that the UKC was denied a visa because of CIMT/ overstay etc. under the Immigration Act etc. " see the first Paragraph of Misty B's waiver on immigrate2us.net for the exact wording.

We didn't include this paragraph and were also told that the US fiancee NEEDS to show in writing that he/she is aware of why the visa was denied.

Most of you probably have included this, but it is important in a hardship letter.

Ok Paul...Nice one..get them back from her ASAP and Keep Copys...send of to the Embassy Rec Mail and have a tracker on the post...keep us in the loop... good.gif

Mary & Tom...I Understand more now...But thats why the 601 waiver was issued......the waiver is there to give releif.....somebody like me and yourself...

Best wishes...hope you get your answer soon... good.gif

Hey you lot.

Can we join your group?...... Reminds me of school playground days.. "d'ya wanna be in my gang"!!!

Actually, that sounds more like a Gary Glitter quote than anything else.. so I'd bet shut up, right now.

Anyhooo, you got the name, case is K-3, I've got packet 3 but know I've got to file a waiver for CIMT. I aint that bad, honest, I think I'm just in the same predicament as y'all. I got in a fight 13 years ago and 12 years ago, respectively.(I'm 32 now).

So, I've got this packet 3 thing-y-me-bob and unsure whether or not to keep on pursuing it. My wife is here with me in the UK for what we thought would be a temp stay until we could relocate to the US.

Things have gone a bit "Pete Tong". The boys (my two step-sons) are being bullied like crap at school and on the street we live on. My eldest step-son has had his arms punctured to heck with some kind of sharp instrument for being American. He's only 13 and a really placid kid, shy as you can get. I've contacted the school and the Police but nothing seems to transpire.

Seems now we cannot go to the US as a family as we planned due to these CIMT thingys.

To quote Renton in Transpotting, "It's a shite state of affairs to be in and all the fresh air in the world aint gunna make a ***k of difference".

Ahh... onwards and upwards, hey?

Simonandjulie...welcome on board.... wink.gif

Ok...i see you have some time before you get a interveiw date....once you have your interveiw then the Embassy will refuse your visa...and ask you to file a I-601 Waiver with Hardship letters from you the UKc & your wife the USc...Cost for such a Waiver is $265.00 to date..and time to process is anything from 6/15wks with the norm about 8wks...
Before your interveiw have Waiver ready and both hardship letters and anything to back your aguments up ie doc report Employer letter ect....only bring this out after the interveiw and not before...then file the 601 plus hardship letters....
Please go to Imigrant2us.net web site and go to 601 waivers and look for stickys Approved hardship letters...this will give you a good idea of what is needed in such Letters...

I hope this post will put you on the right track..

I shall add you to the list and anything you like to ask myself or other 601 members can to...

Welcome on board Simon and Julie,

I share Bailey's words, there are good people in here with a lot of good advice that you can learn from, I certainly have.

Really sorry to hear about what your kids are going through, and hope that sorts itself out soon.

Any worries or concerns, share them here, we're all in this together eh?

Hey Waiver Bunch!

Just so's ya know, I added a link to the waivers thread in the London Interviews thread, so that hopefully people will swing by and say hello. I know that, since your process is lengthened, things can seem a little lonely.

Mary and Tom have got to be next, aye? We'll be pulling for you. good.gif

Hey you all again! Still no news yet sad.gif

We are hoping that Monday, Febrary 13 is our lucky day. My fiance was the 13th person at the embassy and was called up to window 13 and they started processing our paper work on Dec 13 even though we filed on Dec 2nd. sad.gif Oh one more thing that is his fathers favorite #. So we are hoping this is a lucky # for us....

This process is taking forever and he has been in England almost a year now.......ahhhhh! Just venting today! Plus planning a wedding, its taking a toll on me. Tomorrow we get to taste our wedding cake and caterer's food! Yum Yum! Or should I say my mother and father and me get to do these things.

Hey, let me add my good thoughts that Monday you'll hear something! This whole process is terribly stressful. I'm trying to plan a wedding too and wish he were here so he could be a little more involved -- well, as involved as men get in planning the wedding! laughing.gif He could at least pretend and nod dutifully, right?

Does anyone ever wonder what the real statistics are on approvals for London? I know that we, nor the IM2US site are not by any means an exhaustive list of all the people who apply for waivers. I just can't help wondering how many people are approved as opposed to denied? Anyone else care to speculate?

Anyway, here's hoping good things for all of us!
Tiff
Baileyj96
Well cmltdg all I can say is that I've been on this site and immigrate2us.net since about April of last year. I have never seen a denial from London. If there has been they didn't come back on to say so. I hope by saying that it doesn't jinx anything. I don't know why that is. I have seen several rejections from other countries but so far not London. Lets keep hoping it stays that way.

Just a quick post to add my good wishes for some good news for jpkeswim!!

it would sure be nice to hear some more approved's on this forum, and would certainly give the rest of us heart!

Hey does anyone know how long the embassy takes to get back to you via e-mail (if they do at all?). I sent them one a few days ago with all my details in the subject header but still no word. God I hope they've kept the original documented evidence submitted with that original I-601 on the 2nd Feb., or I'm down sh#t creek without a paddle! unsure.gif

Hi Paul

I read a while back that it was best to send your email late in the evening. That way it comes up towards the top of the list the next day. I send mine that way and received an email back the very next morning. Good luck on getting a straight answer. All they gave me was the run around.

Good luck,

They always emailed me back within a day or two at the latest. They were pretty fast! smile.gif

Anyone got any suggestions as to how to speed up time? whistling.gif

This waiting is killing me, and I've only just submitted my I-601! tongue_ss.gif

No news today sad.gif I only slept a couple of hours last night I was so sure the call would come this morning. This is exhausting. Tom has to work alot of double shifts this week but next week he is taking a holiday and he wants to take me to Scotland to show me his homeland... but if we still have heard nothing we will just have to sit home and wait... and wait...

Wouldn't it be nice if they would make us happy for Valentines day. That was why I really thought they would call today. We are lucky to be together right now but the months we have had apart during other parts of the journey have been hell. I just cannot leave without knowing.

Wouldn't that be great if we both got approved this week!!! It looks like we filed only a few days apart. I wish I could see my fiance right now. He is starting to really stress out over in England. In a years time we have only seen each other 4 weeks! URGGGHHHH!

That would be a awesome Valentine's gift!!! And then he would be here in a week or so! smile.gif

Tom couldn't fly to the usa that fast... he has to give at least a months notice at work and he also has to get a company in to pack up his stuff.. he is keeping all of his computers and he also has alot of music equipment... guitar, dobro, keyboards etc. that he is not going to part with. He just ordered flight cases for two of the keyboards.

I have a whole room in the house back home where we can set up his music studio. He is not a professional musician now but he was in a couple of folk bands in the 80's. He also wants to keep all his computers including the monitors. He is an electrician so he knows what needs to be done to get everything working there.

They received our waiver stuff on dec. 1st so we should be looking at the same timeline. I have no idea if or when it was entered into the system though. I want to email them but i keep thinking word will come... tomorrow.....

I wonder if they know how stressful this is. There are so many things to do that we can't do until we know. He has to figure out what to do about his pension, how to move his bank account... so many things.

Meanwhile the house in Michigan sits cold and empty... waiting for us....well not totally cold... I have left the heat at about 50F so the pipes won't freeze. I have been paying all the utility bills online while I am here.

Well John's things are all over in the states...he has virtually lived in the states his whole adult life. So I moved all his things into storage just waiting on his arrival back to the states. Right now he is only working at a recruitment place so as soon as he knows for sure he is getting a plane ticket back to the states. He will have to have someone look after his house, he is trying to sell it but hasnt worked out. He has plenty of relatives that live in England so he will have them come by to watch after the house until it gets sold.

So once he knows he really only has to take care of getting his clothes together and getting his bank account situated.....

I think I remember picking up my cell phone that very AM and silently screaming into it "call me!!!!"...a little while after that they called... tongue.gif

I think once you get to the end of your rope, they sense it and give you a ring! yes.gif

I feel like screaming in my cell phone as well! Just talked to John again and he is getting very depressed. He hasn't even eaten today and he is bored out of his mind! sad.gif I hope it cheers him up when he opens the valentine's gift I got him....... smile.gif

Hope all goes well this week!!!!

Tom is from Saltcoats which is a little town on the coast, southwest of Glasgow. He wants to take me to Edinbough and then over to Saltcoats to meet his family... we hope.... it all depends on the government now. If we don't find out before next week then we can't go. And there won't be another chance. He won't get many more days off in between that holilday and when I leave. If only they had called us last week then he could have given notice at work. But now he will have to work double shifts the week before I leave. I will leave on March 21st. I can't justify paying another $200 to change my flight again. I already did that last week.

If they were to call us in the next couple of days its possible he could leave work before that busy week... thing is he works for a hospital... he can't just leave if they have nobody to take his place. Hosptitals need their electricity to function properly and there are constant emergencies.

Well, I do hope you get to see Edinburgh. Ewen lives there and I think it's a wonderful city! smile.gif I'm sure Tom can show you round, but if you want any suggestions, just give one of us a PM.

Here's hoping you hear something soon...surely you're due for it!

that's if they can be bothered to answer Misty! sad.gif

I sent one on the 8th of Feb with all my details and nothing back whatsoever!

Mary, I really hope you get a chance to see a bit of Scotland, it's a very beautiful country. I lived in a small town on the west coast called Oban for 4 years (doing my PhD up there) and I saw some of the most beautiful scenery ever!

and I echo Pax's comments, Edinburgh is a great city (especially when the fringe festival is on), but then again so is Inverness, Glasgow, Stirling etc.

I love Scotland (shame about the weather and midgies though eh?) biggrin.gif

Tom has told me about midgies. We have something similar in Michigan. Shame about the weather? Hmmm.... I have to admit I am very disappointed with the weather here in London. I have not seen one flake of snow!!! Also, the people here who are complaining that it is cold do not know cold. It was minus 17 C when Tom stepped off the plane in Detroit a year ago January. He survived... even though I keep the house around 17 or 18 C in the winter. That's what sweatshirts are for! I think I would love the weather in Scotland.

Here is the snow I missed while here... this link takes you to a slideshow that my daughter in law put up on a site. You don't have to join the site... just click on the first picture and then you can look at all nine pics... the last one is a quicktime video that takes a while to load.. but it's worth it smile.gif Have the sound on. Those are the little granddaughters I will be leaving behind if the waiver is not approved. Another baby due this summer. That's my son saying "holy cow!" lol! They have all met Tom and really like him. Everyone is hoping we will be there together soon.

No news today but after I sent Tom off to work at 4 am I turned around and on the sofa there was a valentine card and little bag with a Me to You teddy bear in it. He will have to wait til he gets home at 9pm to open the card I have for him. At 4 am I hardly know what day it is. Long long days this week. Tomorrow and thursday he works 1pm til 5am. Then 3 night shifts... and then ... the 11 day holiday. I so hope we have news before then so we can get away for a few days. We have survived togetherness for three months now in the tiniest two room flat imaginable. Meanwhile the 2000 square foot house in Michigan stands empty... waiting....

...going now to find Oban on the map... have Autoroute on this laptop
