I am so glad to receive my NOA-1 (02-27-08) in mail 03-01-08. I was beginning to worry and over examine. I know this is just the beginning but I'm excited. Hopefully this process will be seemless and faster than the past.

Ok I know i started as k3 then switched to cr1, but now im thinking about k3 again and my husband wants me to try the k3, can you have me on both since im not quite sure what im doing?

I believe you can send I-129F in at any time as long as your I-130 has not been approved. Me personally I would not waste any time as it seems to only help promote slowness within the system.

still no news on my side...come wednesday it'll be a month since they got our applications. i think i'm the "ugly duckling" of the group who's gonna have been the first to submit but the last to hear anything...or my application will just vanish entirely. congrats to those who have heard things within the last week!!

i noticed alot of peoples timelines arent done or up to date, make sure you update your timelines

It's official. I sent in the I-129F. I did not know WHAT the hell to do. After reading all these different things on here about K3 is dead and they are not getting done time.....do the CR1...it's the best thing. I got so confused..........and finally said screw it, go with what you know. I just felt comforatable sending it in. I only care about what is quickest. I can deal with other crap once they get here. We shall see.

Now I want to have her go for a tourist visa.........just so we can do a couple things.....I've heard of that.....but don't want to muddy the waters......more research and thought first.

Ignore my previous post and see if the following make sense.

Do you think it is a good idea to add a column for the I-129 people with a column of I-130 sent date and Service Center? It might be also good to add column for service center for I-130 people.

Because the I-129 sent date is not same as the NOA I date. My notice date on the letter is 2/27/08 and I didn't received the letter until 3/3/08 and I won't be able to send the I-129F packet until 3/4/08.

Even though I sent the I-130 and I-129F together, I plan on sending a new packet with all of the same documents specifically for I-129F to my designated service center.

For Example

Name I-130 Sent Date NOA 1 - Notice Date I- 129F Sent Date Service Center

just thought i would let you know that my applications were actually received on 2/5/08 and not 2/1/08 (that's when we sent them).
oh and as far as i know we'll be going through california seeing as we're in washington state.

My I-129F was successfully delivered to VSC at 1:50pm and signed by P Novak. I am sure this is when it starts to slooooow down.

I sent it USPS regular mail but next day service.

I haven't receiver my receipts either so I called USCIS and an immigration officer told me filing both forms at the same time could result in delays. I'm now thinking maybe I should just send another I-130 petition on its own

congrats! yes its going to be a long hard road, but try and think positive, step 1 is complete! so you've finally started the process

i don't know if sending another i-130 would be such a smart idea. my husband called yesterday and spoke to 2 different ladies about our situation. both said that we should not worry they a.) have not cancelled the k-3 visa and it won't happen for a while and b.) shouldn't have caused issues if we sent the applications in together so long as we provided all the needed information. we then asked about having him come out here and doing DCF because apparently it's a lot quicker and they both said that you have to cancel your old applications before you submit any new ones to prevent them putting your case on hold until they find out what the problem is. she said just because we haven't gotten our noa1 or had our check cashed doesn't mean nothing is happening to our case. they handle cases differently if you submit both applications together. so my thinking is if you cancel your old application and submit a new i-130 yes you may get a noa1 sooner but you don't know how it will affect you in the long run. we decided we're just going to wait it out and see what happens. they have to cash the check within 90 because otherwise it is no longer valid. i have read stories about people who wait almost two months for their noa1 and then right after they get it they get their noa2. so just have some faith and all will be sorted out. i know its hard believe me i'm going insane waiting for this and trying to plan the arrival of our first baby but you just have to realise you really don't have any control over the situation so it's not worth stressing yourself out. good luck and keep in touch!

Checked our bank earlier and my check was cashed yesterday. Can't make out the receipt number but who cares and now the wait begins.....................

We've just sent our i-129F package, this time we've got an attourney doing everything for us (my husband thought it will help us make things perfectly) and we're hoping everything will be just fine.

Danyel - its so weird because just him talking to them and knowing that we had done all we could do some how took the pressure off my shoulders. Amazing thing is they told him they couldn't do anything until 90 days had passed and guess who's check got cashed that night? I'M FINALLY ON MY WAY TOWARDS SOMETHING!!! I'm going to try pulling my reciept number off the back of the check and checking it online. I'll let you know what happens!!

well i got the number as best as i could off the check but alas nothing online. i emailed my mother-in-law cause she works for the bank and hopefully can get the number and we can make sure i'm trying the right number.

does anyone know what the different letters at the beginning of the receipt number means?

My check was cashed and my letters were EACxxxxxx. I could not match my receipt number on the back of my cashed check with the number on my NOA1. Doesn't mean they don't match just that I couldn't make them. I believe it will be three letters and and ten numbers.

The three letters at the begining indicate which service center your at. like mine said WAC which is California, different letters represent different service centers, so what three letters do ya got woman?

I got WAC meaning I'm in sunny California with ya'll but how is this for odd...they got my application on March 4, cashed my check on March 5 and my case was touched on March 6. I guess they were just making sure my check went through or something.

So you sent I-130 and I-129F to Chicago TOGETHER, without waiting for the NOA1 from I-130? Isn't the procedure first you receive NOA1 then you can file I-129F?

well my husband and I talked to an immigration officer before we submitted out application and they told us to send both together. there are a couple people who did it that way and so far we haven't had any problems with it. however you are correct, the website and all the forms say that you submit one and then the other.

Are we sure that when you track your case online and the "last updated" date changes it means your case has been touched?
If so my case has been touched five times in the last seven days.
Could this be a very bad sign?

Well "touched" means that the immigration services opens your account and does something. It can be anything from you calling in, them double checking a fact, your case being approved or denied to them just opening it for the hell of it. You never know what it is, it is just them doing something!

Ours was also touched on the 6th, 7th and 9th . It could mean they pairinig up both petitions...

Mine hasnt been touched since they put it in the system It still says the 26th of feb. does anyone know the processing dates everytime i check it still says july 26th 2007.

I added our file number saturday and it accepted the date of the 7th, then changed to the 9th and now few hours later 10th so they are doing something, whatever i hope they keep doing it and i was very surprised mine went to Vermont and not California

if you are registered on the website you can check out your case status online. and it will give you a date that says "last updated" anytime that changes, you've been touched




whether they touch your aplication or not it really makes no difference. some peoples never get touched! those are still the processing dates, they have yet to update it. im hoping march 15th that'll bump up quite a bit
