Ok, so I'm trying, but I haven't learned everything about Yoruba culture yet. And I don't want to make any mistakes with my fiance's family. I'm hoping you all can help me out here.

We all know that in each culture, there are certain responsibilities and expectations for each of the Bride and Groom's families. My question is, am I supposed to be doing/buying/sending anything to my fiance's family? Especially his mom? What are my responsibilities as a Bride in Yoruba culture? If his parents aren't here for our wedding, am I supposed to do something for the couple who are standing in to represent his parents? We're trying to blend our cultural expectations, but my fiance isn't well versed in marriage traditions, so I'm coming here for help.

I just don't want to miss something I'm supposed to be doing here. blink.gif
Thank you all!!
