Hey y'all;

Does anyone have any idea how long after the RFE is submitted to NVC, do they resume case review or complete. My RFE is for omitting one word from the DS-230 and I am sending the passport pictures before they send me another RFE. If everything is on order, does anyone know how long before "case complete?"

Maybe 2-3 weeks! I waiting for review to be completed....But looks like NVC is dealing with lots of RFEs....so anybody guess!

Just out of curiousity, what's exactly did you omit? Can you share this info?

No problem at all. I do not think you are nosey. I had stated it elwhere but here goes. On line #20 "address where he has lived and dates" He has lived at the same address since birth. I put in the date in the from field and since the to field was pre-programmed to only accept numbers, I was not able to type in "present" I was supposed to hand write the word and forgot. Hence I got a RFE for "imcomplete or missing info". Just go over your form line by line and make sure everything is completed. Do not leave anything blank , no matter how simple it may seem. I was obsessing over him not signing the police report he sent to me, as others told me he should have, so my focus was off. They, at the NVC, told me it was not required to be signed per their system. I was on a trip that day so...

Clairern, I have a question? How did you get to know that you had an RFE? Did you wait for it to me mailed to you or did you call the NVC.

I had a reply when I e-mailed the NVC and I think I have an RFE also but I do not know what it is yet.

I was advised to call and talk to the NVC operator to know what missing doc or error that we might have with the docs submitted.

I found out I had a RFE after I called the automated line and heard "..reviewed document and found info missing or incomplete..." I called late one night and spoke with an operator and was told Quest #20 was incomplete. I looked over my copy and saw the error. I was in shock, I almost cried, so mad at myself. It was then I was also told about the new requirement that 2 passport pics should also be submitted with the DS-230. Else I would have gotten another RFE

If you made copies of the forms you submitted with any enclosures, go over them and if it does not pop out at you, call and try to speak with an operator and they should be able to tell you. Make sure you have extra pics.

Hey Claire.......It took us exactly two weeks to get a case complete once they received all information requested on the RFE...

Thank so much CLAIRERN for sharing this info. That's exactly the point I've ommited. I call to NVC operator and the lady told me I DON'T HAVE TO WAIT FOR RFE TO SUBMMIT new DS230 - if I know something missing I should send this right away.
Hopefully your case will be rewiewd ASAP.

I don't know about submitting it before you get the letter from them because it comes with a barcoded sheet that must be returned with the new form and the Attn: line is different. You could go ahead and do as the operator said, but Have another form ready just in case. Also send 2 passport pics with the form with bebeficieries name and case number on the back. Good Luck

About barcodes- we will generate(James' shortcut) them and will send with new ATTN. We submitted my pictures already.

They are asking for 2 passport sized pictures. Joyce called the NVC, spoke to the operator and informed her of that requirement.

Im sending the pics right away and hopefully, the case could be completed right away.

...and like I suspected I got an RFE. I hope only for omitting in DS230 question 20 the "present" word.

Didn't you re-send a new DS-230 as you were told by the NVC operator if you know there were mistakes made you do not have to wait for the RFE? Did you submit pictures with it?

First DS230 (generated on 02.11)with all documents (pictures as well) my husband sent on February 12,after 6pm so even with next day delivery the NVC received it on February 14 at 8am. Then I learned from you(thanks for that) that I omitted in #20 some date,or "present"word. Because I sent to my husband 3 copies of DS230 back in December, he corrected next one and sent yesterday on February 16(delivery on monday 02.18)
We not waited for official RFE- opreator told me blank spots will cost rfe most likely so we sent another form.
Yesterday message changed "NVC has received your packet of form and founded incomplete or missing information".
I'm assuming:
#they completed I-864 and are waiting for DS230 to enter the system
# an RFE for I-864( although message doesn't mension financial guarantes )
#inded RFE for DS230 founded - but so fast??? received thursday and by friday an RFE!! Wow, but rather not possible but from the other hand who knows
I' m going to call tomorrow, and I wish not to find something suprising. My hubby and I have enough this forms. I think I become completly obssesed with speeding this process. I miss so much my hubby, for last 4 years we've been almost unseparated and now it's going to be 6months since seeing each other.

The NVC is closed tomorrow, 2/18/08, for the President's Day holiday. Try calling on Tuesday.

Calamitka, if your DS-230 was entered into the system on 2/20, what was the previous message on 2/17 indicating a RFE for? Have you spoken with an operator to find out what the message "found info missing or incomplete" meant?

As of today the message from 02/15 is telling "NVC has received your packet of forms and found info missing..."
I called tuesday and found why: NVC completed I-864 and is "missing" DS230 with documents.
About entering on 02/20 DS230 I found by calling to operator. Next update will be on Friday night.

So much automated messages for me. One at thursday "NVC has received check letter response" and today the RFE, the real one they found info missing. So may I join the club?

NVC has received my RFE 2/27 but says I have to wait 4-6 weeks for review. WHAT????? Are they kidding me, or pulling my legs? One corrections was all it needed and it is gonna take them that long to review it?

Sorry for the rant y;all. Just so fraustrated. Can't imagine an agency that has people's lives in the palm of their hands are so lackadasical (sp?). I am just so disappointed in them.

But seriously 6-8 weeks is a standard answer to cover thers buts. In reality it takes them 5-21 days to process.
Watch how next tuesday or saturday the message will change for case complete.

Calamitka, I spoke to an operator last night and he mentioned that it takes 2-4 weeks to review. The machine said 6-9 weeks. Who to believe?????

I completly understand you. Since this monday it's difficult for me to think about something else than case completion.
