My SLEC medical experience . . . The series of unfortunate events
MY SLEC TIPS
- My mom was confined on the day I was supposed to leave for Manila, a sad event that led to a series of unfortunate events…
- Missed my flight going to Manila and had to pay additional 1300PhP for the first flight the next day. (On the day of my scheduled medical exam).
- Had an upset stomach while on board the plane and had to make countless trips to the lavatory.
THE DOCTOR AT ROOM SIX
- For peace of mind, have your pre-medical weeks or months before you have your actual SLEC appointment. I had my x-ray and blood tests taken weeks before I went to SLEC.
- X-Ray – do not tie the gown all the way down as it will be time consuming for the tech to untie it. Only tie the first knot with a slip knot.
- Massage the venipuncture and immunization site to prevent hematoma and numbness.
While I was waiting and chatting with the 3 ladies I made friends with in SLEC, an elderly woman sat next to us. She looked disgusted and warned us of the doctor at Rm. 6. She was asked why her children were born 10 years apart. She answered because her husband spent a long time in the abroad. Why he stayed a long time there, why the long gap, why they decided to gap their kids that way, so many whys. Then one of the girls I have been talking to was assigned to Room 5. The doctor found something and referred her to the doctor in room 6. She thought it was about her hemorrhoids. But the doctor found a laceration in her private parts and suspected child birth. My friend told the doctor she has not given birth but the doctor told her not to deny it. She pointed fingers at her and told her to stop lying because she is a doctor and she knows if she is lying or not. The doctor asked her if she understand what does giving false information will cause her, when she said she understand, the doctor raised her voice and said… stop denying it! Just admit that u have given birth before. She was already trembling in anger and fear why the doctor treated her that way. She was asked to open her legs and the doctor inserted her fingers on her like conducting an I.E. After that, the doctor told her to wait outside; her papers were not given to her since the doctor delivered her papers personally to the US counter. My friend told me she talked with her lawyer and doctor who fortunately works in St. Luke’s Medical center main. Her doctor said no doctor can say that a woman has undergone child birth unless just because of the laceration she saw. Maybe the doctor was just trying to intimidate her or what ever. Anyway…so much of the terror doctor….well my friend passed her medical but her fiancé has filed a letter of complain to SLEC…and to that doctor in particular.MY USEM BLOOPER
Early in the morning I went to my friend who was staying at hotel soriente to leave my celphone in her room. We then went to USE. Lo and behold when we got into the xray machine..the lady guard saw a Celphone in my bad! I was so shocked and told her It wasn’t mine!!!! I was so shocked when I opened my bag and saw my phone staring back at me..huhuhuhuhu..i rushed outside and handed my phone to the vendors who were more than willing to hold my phone for safe keeping for 150 pesos.MY USE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
My number was 7017. I was interviewed by a handsome consul. I was too nervous to smile at him though . I think he gave the lady ahead of me a hard time because I waited for more than 10 minutes outside the room. (29?)

(smiled) what you are going to do now is wait outside and wait for your name to be called and you will be given instruction for you visa delivery. (I gave a shy sigh or relief and gave him a big thank you and a big smile)FORM I-134 NOT NOTARIZED
One of girls I met at SLEC brought her I-134f without the notary seal but she was approved anyway. (Don’t take chances though.)NO DOCUMENT VERIFICATION FEE ASKED
I paid the docs verification 1 month ago. But one of the girls whom I also met In SLEC wasn’t even asked to pay for the document verification and she was only asked to pay for the Visa Delivery. But then again…don’t take chances. Paying 650 in advance wont harm you.DOCUMENTS
