Allow me to share my story (VJ is now flooded with lots of success stories). I know it's kinda late for this but I can’t find time to be online while in Manila and I can’t resist the urge to share my SLEC and USEM experience here in VJ...
First...I would like to acknowledge the helpfulness of ate Cherry (longwait2) and Maya (RonMay) for answering my queries about many things with regards to this Visa stuff, Beng (Beng&Carl)for taking time to make a really informative post about SLEC and to many others whose posts, inquiries and answers in the forum has been a great help to me.

My SLEC medical experience . . . The series of unfortunate events
  • My mom was confined on the day I was supposed to leave for Manila, a sad event that led to a series of unfortunate events…
  • Missed my flight going to Manila and had to pay additional 1300PhP for the first flight the next day. (On the day of my scheduled medical exam).
  • Had an upset stomach while on board the plane and had to make countless trips to the lavatory.
MY SLEC TIPS
  • For peace of mind, have your pre-medical weeks or months before you have your actual SLEC appointment. I had my x-ray and blood tests taken weeks before I went to SLEC.
  • X-Ray – do not tie the gown all the way down as it will be time consuming for the tech to untie it. Only tie the first knot with a slip knot.
  • Massage the venipuncture and immunization site to prevent hematoma and numbness.
THE DOCTOR AT ROOM SIX
While I was waiting and chatting with the 3 ladies I made friends with in SLEC, an elderly woman sat next to us. She looked disgusted and warned us of the doctor at Rm. 6. She was asked why her children were born 10 years apart. She answered because her husband spent a long time in the abroad. Why he stayed a long time there, why the long gap, why they decided to gap their kids that way, so many whys. Then one of the girls I have been talking to was assigned to Room 5. The doctor found something and referred her to the doctor in room 6. She thought it was about her hemorrhoids. But the doctor found a laceration in her private parts and suspected child birth. My friend told the doctor she has not given birth but the doctor told her not to deny it. She pointed fingers at her and told her to stop lying because she is a doctor and she knows if she is lying or not. The doctor asked her if she understand what does giving false information will cause her, when she said she understand, the doctor raised her voice and said… stop denying it! Just admit that u have given birth before. She was already trembling in anger and fear why the doctor treated her that way. She was asked to open her legs and the doctor inserted her fingers on her like conducting an I.E. After that, the doctor told her to wait outside; her papers were not given to her since the doctor delivered her papers personally to the US counter. My friend told me she talked with her lawyer and doctor who fortunately works in St. Luke’s Medical center main. Her doctor said no doctor can say that a woman has undergone child birth unless just because of the laceration she saw. Maybe the doctor was just trying to intimidate her or what ever. Anyway…so much of the terror doctor….well my friend passed her medical but her fiancé has filed a letter of complain to SLEC…and to that doctor in particular.
MY USEM BLOOPER
Early in the morning I went to my friend who was staying at hotel soriente to leave my celphone in her room. We then went to USE. Lo and behold when we got into the xray machine..the lady guard saw a Celphone in my bad! I was so shocked and told her It wasn’t mine!!!! I was so shocked when I opened my bag and saw my phone staring back at me..huhuhuhuhu..i rushed outside and handed my phone to the vendors who were more than willing to hold my phone for safe keeping for 150 pesos.
MY USE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
My number was 7017. I was interviewed by a handsome consul. I was too nervous to smile at him though . I think he gave the lady ahead of me a hard time because I waited for more than 10 minutes outside the room. (29?)
Who is petitioning you
When is his birthday / how old is he
Where and when did you meet
Is he married / Does he have any kids
Are you married / Do you have any kids
How many times did he visit you / when did he visit you
Where does he work / How long has he been in his work
How much does he earn
How can he afford to visit you
Do you plan to live together alone or with your in-laws
When are you getting married
Do you presently work / What is your Job
DO you Plan to WORK in the USA – and he asked me again this time with emphasis.. DO YOU..plan to WORK in the USA when u get there?
If yes why/ if no why?
What is his work again?
He then looked at me and gave out a heavy sigh….(I don’t know why) and said gently..Ma’am ……….(pause) ………..you’re approved! (smiled) what you are going to do now is wait outside and wait for your name to be called and you will be given instruction for you visa delivery. (I gave a shy sigh or relief and gave him a big thank you and a big smile)
FORM I-134 NOT NOTARIZED
One of girls I met at SLEC brought her I-134f without the notary seal but she was approved anyway. (Don’t take chances though.)
NO DOCUMENT VERIFICATION FEE ASKED
I paid the docs verification 1 month ago. But one of the girls whom I also met In SLEC wasn’t even asked to pay for the document verification and she was only asked to pay for the Visa Delivery. But then again…don’t take chances. Paying 650 in advance wont harm you.

The doctor who examined me looked at me intently...she kept on asking my age and my birthday. over and over again. No IE whatsoever..only a quick glance in the anal area.

Thanks for sharing.... I'll be having series of physical exam and medical lab check ups in the coming weeks/months (dahan-dahan lang dahil mahal). I'm really planning to have a complete and thorough medical exam before even receiving our NOA2 just to be sure. I'm a little hypochondriac blush.gif , so i need to be really sure nothing will go wrong with my medical.

And golly!! i sure pray they'd terminate that doctor #6 before my time comes wacko.gif

Anyways, CONGRATULATION FOR PASSING EVERYTHING!!! God speed!!

I don't know what room she was in but the doctor Claudeth had was kind of mean.

Jasmann .......
maybe that Doctor is in Room 6. She is the only terror doctor there.

Anyway...i forgot to add another question from the consul....he asked if I plan to work in the US when i get there...before i could answer..he asked me again...DO YOU plan to work in the US once you get there?....i answered in the DS form YES so I told him Yes but that is only if my fiance's salary cannot support us both. Maybe he was satisfied because he approved me. smile.gif

DBEARS....
I am a hypochondriac too...in fact i had my blood tests done like thrice....i was so scared because i had needle pricks before (i work in the lab) and i was thinking i had these kind of diseases..hehehehe. Everytime i cough i thought i had TB....so i had my xray taken. SLEC will ask u if u brought with u your xray films. They will need it for comparison But if u didnt bring it with you..no worries, they will still release your results.

Ate Cherry .....
Thank you again...kitakits ta didto sa MO....mag dala ko bulad. putson ko maayo sa mga sanina..hehehehe.magdala pud ko sardinas nga youngstown. devil.gif

i was at room 7 for my medicals, but i remember the doctor on the other room loudly asking the applicant with her if she took drugs over and over again...and this was in the rudest way possible. oh well, she must be having a bad day..hehehe! girlwerewolf2xn.gif
