My EAD card will be expired on April 10, 08. I have sent the renew application in Oct 10, 07. I went to the local office

today to inquire about the process and the interim EAD since it has been more than 90 days after I sent the application.

The officer told me that I should come back 30 days before my current EAD card expires (March, 10, 08) and she will

forward the request to the Service Center. However, she said, there still might be gap between my current EAD and the

new EAD.

I wonder what is this interim EAD? I thought that the interim EAD is issued temporally for preventing such gap. I am

worried that I might need to quit the job if I don't get the renewed EAD on time.

Thanks in advance for any information.

The liklihood that you actually receive an interim EAD is low. After 90 days you can go to the local office and they can put in a request regarding the regular EAD and if needed ask for an interim to be made. I have yet to see this happen where they didnt just issue the regular EAD.

You should be close to being approved anyway.
