Just wanted to thank VJ for all the helpful infos we got from here. feb 7 was the second day of my medical and I got approved along with the other VJ members, Lily (runs4fun) and Margaux. Peewee still have to go back for her son's skin test reading and their results and we're praying that they get approved too.
As much as i want to post the detailed experience of my medical, i really couldn't recall the step by step process

so i'm gonna try my best to narrate what happened....
I met lily at the mall so we can both go together to SLEC. We got there around 1pm and gave the guards our original appointment letter and the xerox copy, passport and 1 2x2 picture and then we were instructed to fill up the form and submit it after we're done. i think it was like 6 or 7 pages thick writing your name, birthday, passport number, case number, petitioner's info, etc. after that, go to the xray room. They took 3 xrays for me because the first time, they put in the wrong name, so they had to do a retake, then the film came out blurry so they had to do another one. My tip, listen very carefully when they call your name. In my entire time at SLEC, they did not pronounce my surname correctly so i had to listen very carefully all the time. besides, the microphone they're using has an echo, so it's really hard to distinguish what they were saying.
after the xray, go to the laboratory for the blood and urine sample. This is where we met Margaux, PeeWee and another girl Ioulanie who we recruited to sign up in VJ because she was so surprised that we know a lot about the whole process and she and her fiance hired a lawyer for their papers and we, VJers, were like, "you wouldn't need one if you sign up at VJ"

after the blood and urine, we were asked to go down to the 2nd floor for the vaccine interview but when we got there, there were so many people lined up so the guy said to go back to 5th floor and have our PE first, vital signs and eye exam. So we all went back up and had our PE at rooms 7 and 8. Yes, we all had to strip naked!

i was just surprised how fast the lady doctor asked her questions. Being a doctor myself, I kind of knew the sequence of her questioning usually beginning with your present illness (if any), past medical history, hospitalizations and operations, and lastly would be drug use and family history. I was taken aback when she asked me about drug use because she said "cannabis, ampethamine, nasubukan mo na?" = "cannabis, ampethamine, have u tried them?" it took a few seconds for me to realize she was asking about drugs. She didnt outright say have u ever tried drugs? she rattled off the questions soo fast if you're nervous, you might answer yes without understanding it. so listen carefully and understand what she's asking.
after that we all went down for the immunization interview which took ages. we were done around 630pm and had dinner altogether. we were asked to come back at 2pm.
The next day, we went back for the vaccines. we were there at 1:50pm and Lily, margaux and Ioulanie got immunized around 3pm and I was immunized at 5pm

anyway, i was telling myself, patience is a virtue. be patient LOL i had 2 shots, one for varicella (chickenpox) and another MMR. after the shots, go down at the 2nd floor for the results. here, you have to submit 2 2x2 picture and your passport. Then we waited again and chatted while waiting and they will call you again for the results. I got called around 630pm, and i was so nervous thinking something must be wrong because all the girls i were with have been approved already except me, but thank God, when the guy called my name, I had this goody feeling and i couldnt stop smiling and he handed me my xray and had me sign the paper and 'm done

I called Dave to tell him the good news

we all had dinner again and stayed up til around 11 cuz we were all so happy

Btw, those plastic thingy they sell outside SLEC, the girls got it for Php35 only

God is good all the time
