Hello everyone,

My daughter and I got safely to Miami yesterday, our wedding is tentatively scheduled on the 28th of Feb. Is there anything to be done urgently after arrival? or shall we start the adjustment and SSN thing after the wedding?

Any input is highly appreciated. God Bless us all......

Your next step is to get your SSN, you do not need to wait and depending on where you are getting married you may need it for your licence.

Here is a link to the VJ flow chart.

Apply for SSN.Get married.Honeymoon ( but dont go cruising outside the USA). Apply for AOS. In between you can apply for dirver's license or state ID if allowed. Welcome to America !!!

apply for marriage license and/or prepare for the wedding

get married

apply for SSN when you get your marriage cert.

prepare for the AOS while waiting for the SS card to arrive (usually takes a week upon application and be sure your I-94 is not expired before the application)
garya505
Apply for your SSN 2 weeks after arrival. Change your name on your SSN anytime after you get your marriage certificate.
