Yes , Hello again my fellow Visajourney friends , I am waiting on a NOA2 . For me and my fiancee , we love communicating so much with each other , every chance we get . I know there are others on Visajourney that are also in the same situation . I wanted to ask what are the best packages for phone service to the Philippines , this is a little off topic , But I figure the best support would come from the same good people here that are in the same situation as I . Can anyone share the best phone packages , I don't know if the forum would allow it because it would be spamming though . So im just asking for some support on this . Thanks to all and Good Luck to everyone . blush.gif

Hi there is several way you can call the Philippines but the best way I have found and cheaps is at the following website;
http://www.aspen-communication.com/PinoyCalls/ . Aspen-communication is founder lives here in Phoenix, AZ. Has office in Phoenix and Manila. Check out the site. I pay only about $ 60.00 a month for unlimited phone calls and talking time. I only got one favor if you decode to use Aspen please let me know and tell them the John Fries, told you about them. I will get a cerdit for you taking thier service. Just like you will for anyone that take the service you tell them about it. The only one catch to is I had to committed for one (1) service that was about two (2) years ago. Good luck.

I just use my Cell Phone. I have Sprint service on their SERO plan (http://delivery.sprint.com/m/p/sprint/epc/epclanding.asp and use email address savings@sprintemi.com if you want to check it out). I pay the $4 International Long Distance Plan and my rates are $0.19/minute for landlines and $0.23/minute for cell phones. Might not be the cheapest way to call, but well worth the price for the convenience of being able to call from anywhere.

Jean and I ARE VERY HAPPY W/ ASPEN COMMUNICATIONS. The call quality is good. Customer service is also good. Aspen communications .com, several plans available... John&Jean

If you both use Yahoo messenger with a headset/mic, you can talk for free. Add a webcam and it is real nice. Just another option for you.

I agree Yahoo is the best way. If she doesnt have a PC then send her money for the cafe. So much better to use a mic and web cam. I also use calling card from www.pinshark.com

I definitely agree..Yahoo Messenger with voice chat is free..No monthly bill but just the internet that obviously you have it..Me and my husband were talking using YM for a year and almost the whole day and night..lol tongue.gif I am now using YM to talk to my mom everyday..And the best thing is I can see them thru the web cam.. biggrin.gif

What about SKYPE?

SKYPE is better than Yahoo Messenger..

YM gets delayed voice and Cam..

SKYPE always gets real time voice and cam...

The cheapest way is to have a fast connection on each end and use yahoo voice chat or Skyp. For a card, I've had good luck with a smart card from www.ppoutlet.com They are accurate on the minutes used, which many are not.

Claudeth used to go to cafes that had headphones and microphone and we would chat that way. Then Yahoo added a phone feature and I used to chat with my friend in Cagayan all the time. It worked really well and we didn't even need anything extra because both our web cameras had a microphone built it. Now I just buy Claudeth phone cards.

Better to use Skype than YM...

You can also send money to your wife/fiancee and have her buy PLDT Budget Cards...rate is about 3 pesos per minute...card costs 100 and 200 Pesos...cheap and i've been using it ever since...

Just my 2 cents bro...

If you have high speed internet on both ends when not think about using Vonage then it is like a local call. Set it up in the states and then send or take the phone on the next vacation. only about $25 per month.
