I suspect this is what caused those '07 TSC cases to be transferred :

SCOPS liaison has confirmed that the service centers are conducting "sweeps" to find adjustment of status cases that can be reviewed for adjudication under the changes in background check procedures announced by USCIS on February 4, 2008. AILA Doc. No. 08021366.

Nice theory but for the fact my wife didn't adjust status -- she received a CR-1 immigrant visa. You'd think they could cast a narrower net.

On edit: actually, the rumor I've heard is that they are simply consolidating adjudications of all I-751s in VSC and CSC.

I had just made an Infopass appointment, because we are going for the citizenship biometrics this Tuesday and I was going to ask about the I-751, but now we don't have to!!!!!!!! Hopefully today will bring more good news. They can't sit on these things forever.

VSC has had my petition for over 2 1/2 months after it had already sat gathering dust at TSC for ten months. What's the dillio? Sloth? Incompetence? Drinking problems?

Time to hit 'em harder!

To be realistic: all 2/25's first then start on the 2/26's. Based on the approval progress so far best estimate for us will be end May, everything else will be a big suprise.

She mentioned earlier she was a "P." So she must have been placed (undoubtedly like me) with the slow guy at VSC:

Impatient? After a year, I think there is more than enough reason to be inpatient. How come they have slowed? Hopefully there won't be a long break between 2-25 and 2-26 cases, but it seems to be a tradition at VSC to separate batches and workloads by months of inaction

Cassie, why are you biting your tongue? The one person (Miriga) who finally got their approval on that post, has been waiting for a year like the rest of the TSCers. Sadly, the Nebraska Service Center has been just as notoriously bad as TSC.

I am glad they approve NSClers at CSC. It is just funny that CSC can finish transferred cases within 2 weeks. We were transferred 3 months ago. what makes VSc wait so long?

I think the one thing that is holding up the VSC now, is all the HB1 applications that go through there...all those people in the immigration lottery..."Oh the humanity!!!"

It is moments like these that I think of a dear friend of mine who passed away...she always said, "Never pray for patience, because God has a sense of humor and He'll make you wait forever. Pray for wisdom to understand the situation." Sometimes though, I have felt like the immigration process makes you feel wise beyond your years.

maybe you guys can answer me this question... my friend was married (with an USA citizen) he got divorce right after her naturalization..... I know that she can not married someone and claim that person for a while... anyone knows how long she has to wait until she is able to married another person and able to claim that person???????? please! Why am I biting my tongue? Because I am frustrated beyond belief that 1) we were never transferred to CSC in the first place (like all those people who filed after June 30, 2007) and 2) that some of us are STILL waiting at VSC (over 2 months now) while those now being transferred to CSC are getting approved within days.

I do not begrudge our fellow VJ'ers from Nebraska that they are getting approved. I am, however, completely frustrated with how our group has been treated through all of this.

She can marry another person ANYTIME (depending on state law) but for immigration purposes there is a 5 year wait between USC/alien petitions.

Not that this is in the cards now or will be in the future and just out of curiosity, (and this is a bit off topic of the orginal discussion but since it is already started here), if say my wife got naturalized and became USC, could she then petition for her parents to come over here or would she need to wait 5 years. Just distance thoughts if SA ever started going the way of Zim.

yes I know. We are far down the list, so it doesn't really give me high hopes. I figure we are 2 months out, yet I am still checking this bloody board daily, hoping for some good news from others. BTW did anybody attempt to do a name change on the I-751, I wonder if that is going to screw things up for us even more. Really wish I knew if they were going to accept it or not, so in the next month we could start on our Citzenship App. (ah yes more money and more waiting).

I chanted "card production ordered" as I logged in to USCIS today, but no luck. Doesn't sound like anyone on this list got approved today.

VSC has definitely slowed down or temporarily shelved some of our transfers for some reason. If you look at the list, 80% of the approvals came during the first half of April (if you include 3/31). Only 10% of the approvals -- i.e., two approvals, kalstravels and licianne -- have come during this second half of April. Two approvals in two weeks, in fact.

Yeah, they've got problems.

Yes she will be able to ask for her parents at any time after she gets the naturalization..... (that is how my friend did and her parents are resident already.... believe or not was faster to became resident that to clear conditions....... )

I think CinT will get approved today. Even with the turtle speed we should hear something today. BTW Tushar was approved last week too. So 3 people last week not two.

I got nothing today. Even with Tushar, they really have slowed down. I'm getting antsy b/c my wife is going to Colombia in less than six weeks, and I'd like to avoid her having to go for an InfoPass (with at least one kid in tow, no less).

Nothing again today. I'm getting nervous again. We're driving to Canada on the 23rd and it would crush me to drive 2 days only to find there were border crossing issues. Ironically, all my dog needs is a valid rabies certificate. I do have the passport stamp. I also have the immigration officer's words ringing in my head: "this is worthless if they deny you".

Hopefully it'll happen in the next two weeks and the worrying will be for naught.

I just found this discussion and can be added to the "loser" list as well. I filed my I-751 in May of 2007, had my biometrics appt on 07/03/07, and my case was last touched on 02/25/08. Do you guys think it matters that my biometrics appt was almost 2 months after I filed? Will this delay my case? I am so frustrated and just want that card.
