For all of you theorists out there, my last touched should actually read 02/25/08. And, my last name starts with an R. Can't tell if there has been any action on my case because I can't log in from work. I've been watching this site anxiously awaiting someone else's approval though.

Just got my greencard in the mail today. I've noticed the expiry date is in 2018 - so they've actually given us the full 10 years from the approval date this year in April, which is nice, since I've wondered if they would rip us off again and calculate the 10 years from the expiry date of the original greencard.

What's funny though is that they've actually put a leaflet in there: " Welcome to the United States - A Guide for New Immigrants". LoL, not like I've been here for three years now.... oh well, better a surplus than something missing....

Well today, after my Biometrics appointment I just got transferred to Vermont... so I guess I join you guys!

I nearly fainted.

James and the rest, I think your predictions are rock solid! They appear to be sorting in alphabetical order accoring to the spouses last name. Again, spouse last name begins with a "T" even though I am the petitioner and mine begins with an "H". And we weren't approved so early - NOA of 03/23/07. Nearly 1 year and 3 weeks.

My wife doesn't know yet but here's the e-mail. I think she'll say "What's the big deal anyway?". As a Canadian, they are a little less hot headed as Americans, maybe its their free health care, I don't know Good luck to all! I think the USCIS has some good people, but its just USCIS that is not enforced (Remember the infamous statement on their page "in the order we receive them"?) We'll enjoy this for a while, and then maybe come July we'll see many of you on the N-400 page.

Well, our name starts with "P", so I wonder if we got passed over......we were in the second group that got the email notice of the transfer.

We got a response from our Senator. All it was was a printout of an email from VSC that said: "This case was receipted on 4/5/07. We are currently processing this type of case received 2/2/07.....and a printout of the processing times from the USCIS website.

Don't worry, my guess and I was dead on on Kal's travels was today, so expect to hear around the 15th of May. My wife's last name starts with a "B" if it matters.

My married name starts with an R ... My last touch was on 02/25, but my original transfer letter was in the 2nd bunch on the 22nd, not the 13th.

well my last touch as you know is 02/26... last name P (married name) hopefully they keep up with approvals!!!!

Just a quick note to all those still waiting or about to apply.

Was a little worried when I first applied because I had my house some years before I was married. This is what we submitted and worked:

1. Photocopies of 2 years worth of joint tax returns. Note that these were not official transcripts, like many of the threads say you need although there is no documented evidence that the USCIS needs it.
2. Deed showing wife's name. It cost just $10 to add her, much cheaper than trying to refinance and getting her on the mortgage.
3. 2 Notarized Affidavits
4. Wills showing spouse as benficiary In Texas you can get a standard form downloaded from the web, fill it in and notarize it. By law, this document is superfluous as Texas is a common law state and assets default to the spouse.
5. Photocopies of drivers licenses.
6. Photocopy of green card
7. Statement showing wife is beneficiary on health
8. One statement of a joint checking account
9. One statement of a joint savings account
10. Statement showing spouses are beneficiaries on retirement accounts.
11. Photocpies of credit cards showing same account number but different names (this is is easy to get)
12. Photocopy of joint Sams club membership. (Sorry Costco, but Texas is Sams Club land)
13. Copy of car insurance
14. Proof of my US citizenship

1. Did not submit any joint utility bills.
2. No photographs (you think I'm letting a stranger oogle at my wife? - no thanks)
3. Wife has different last name.
4. No children (yet)
5. No evidence of a trip taken together (although we have this)

Got my card today -- somebody please update.

I was expecting to get approval letter first. So I was quite surprised (pleasant surprise) to get the card.

I also had recently changed my address, so was worried as well of the card misplacement -- no mistakes. Thanks to VSC for no mistakes.

I got nothing so far. Yesterday was the one-year anniversary of our NOA1. A week ago yesterday was the two-month anniversary of our receipt date at VSC. (Actually, going by the VSC status list, I'm the only one left from the group of folks who got a VSC received-and-pending notice on 2/13 -- everyone else is from 2/22.)

The Monday is not over yet; I’m just waiting for the first coffee break at VSC to be over, so they start kicking out some emails.

We need to be more understanding.

VSC worked too hard and now they are all exhausted. They will take a little break, get second breath and get back to approving the rest of us. I agree the day is not over yet.

Thanks for asking.

So I received an ASC appointment letter after specifically requesting one; and I completed the biometrics on April 15th. Now here's the interesting part--I called USCIS to verify that they have the biometrics and that my case will be processed. The immigration officer said that it takes over sixty days to transfer the biometrics from the ASC to the VSC, and then several more months to make a decision!! Wow. She also said that cases are processed by the date that the service center (not the ASC) receives the biometrics, and not by the NOA date.

What do you guys think? Should we even care as long as we just get our I-551 extension every year? I've gotten stressed out over this too, but I'm starting to think that this doesn't matter--maybe this is just my defense mechanism. As long as we maintain legal status, does it matter whether or not they make a decision?

P.S. I was last touched on 4/16/08.

I travel a lot overseas and it’s a hassle that immigration each and every time have to verify my I-551 stamp, so I have lost my connection flight a couple of time. I'm just looking forward to show my passport and valid GC to the immigration and travel like everyone else.

Look for tomorrow or Friday and wait until after 2:00 p.m. central time (I think). I suspect they are working the original VSC filers and may do sporadic transfers this week on days we are not accustomed to. Incidentally, my wife got her card in the mail today from St. Albans Vt. Didn't check the postmark but I believe they send it out the same day they flag your application with card production ordered. I think our snail mail notice will get here days after the card does. Keep the faith, the wait is just hours from being over (6 days from card order to delivery).

2 of April they sent my case for vsc and they sent an email to me, but I have to date not received the letter in the mailbox. it is this normal one? it is almost three weeks..

Hi everyone,

I got my approval last week 4/14 and just wanted to update you on what's happened since:

Got another email on 4/15 saying Card Production Ordered.

On 4/17 got an email saying Approval Notice Sent.

Today I received my 10 yr GC (expires 4/14/18) and all looks correct (was mailed on 4/17 to FL).


So it appears based on everyone else's experience (well, those of us who've been approved so far), this is the norm.

As for no approvals today, I'm guessing there's a lot more of us who aren't on the list, but I'm sure they'll come.

Update from USCIS web page/// as of April 15 2008, they are still on NOA dates March 1 2007.... nothing new..... keep up the good work.... once and for all!!!

Did you notice that Texas is processing petitions from June 30th? Now that's a slap across the face.

We should get this law passed: Any immigration application that is not adjudicated within 1 year should receive a full refund of all fees. And then, every year that passes where the case still isn't adjudicated, another payment equal to application amount should be given(Of course, applications with a predetermined quota would obviously be exempt). I saw some applications still waiting for adjudication that go back to 2001!!

Texas doesn't HAVE any petitions from June 30! That's the date it started transferring all newly filed petitions to CSC.
