As I mentioned in a post above, the person at the field office who gave me a passport stamp said an RFE was sent on March 28th (although he had no information what they were requesting in his system, which I find odd) and to date I haven't received any letters or updates on Case Status Online (which is also odd), so you might want to put 03/28/08 for last touched, or you may want to leave it as is until I hear something more.

I took a chance and looked at it and it said our case had been touched today so I read it and sure enough it said we were approved on April 5th, hmm I didnt know they worked on a Saturday but I am not complaining wooo hooo. Now onto the final step...Citizenship. James, you may be next.

Okay, now I am really starting to freak out....still no approval and our NOA was 4/20/08, before some of those who have been approved. My question is this. At what point should I go get an infopass and see if maybe something like an RFE or interview appt was lost in the mail? I have this (maybe irrational) fear that they have sent something that got lost in the mail and will deny our petition due to no response. This happened to my friend before.

Should I just sit tight? I sent off the citizenship app this morning. We don't need to go in to get his passport stamped until June, because that is when is greencard expired and therefore, his extension letter expires.

The senator can still tell me nothing......the woman at the office is really frustrated herself at the lack of response from USCIS, and said that if it was up to her, she would dismantle the whole customer service phone line.

Any ideas? Am I freaking out for no reason? AAAaaaaahhhh!!!! Obsession is setting in.................................

Although it may be easy for me to say, I wouldn't freak out yet. Based on our list they are definitely giving out approvals out of order.

It looks like they are aproving the ones that were touch on the 2/25/08 ,so do not worry about it you can be next .

Also, in case there are others with the extra stress due to filing single for removal of conditions during this looong wait, I filed as single after my divorce finalized.

One last question to those who had learned that they were approved in the previous days, how long does it usually take for the card to arrive (from date you got the e-mail notice)? the reason I am asking this is because, I have made an infopass appointment for next Monday to get my passport stamped as my 1 year extension was to expire at the end of this month. I just want to make sure that I do not cancel the appointment and then find out the card production ordered e-mail notice was some kind of an error... you never know

From our experience, the card arrived within 5 days - Gustavo was approved on 12/3/07 and the card arrived on 12/8/07 - best Christmas present ever. I would assume that should happen for you, too.

I'm not sure they really have split up the 2/25 and 2/26 last touches. But assuming they have, and they're approving the 2/25 ones first, it would probably be close to 3 weeks before we see a 2/26 approval, at least based on a projection from what's been going on with our group.

Good to see so many approvals. I just don't understand what order they are getting approved in because March and April NOAs seem to be getting approved and I am a February NOA and have not yet been approved. All the same at least there is hope now, I just wish they would do it according to NOA dates.

well.... if you take in consideration that they split the list in 2 (touched on the 25th and on the 26th) there is a pattern right there... obviously the ones touched on 02/25/2008 are getting approved before that the ones touched on the 26th... so... you will get approved soon, I am sure that same slow ### cis officer has your case, but... nothing to worry about!

My last touch was also changed to Apr 08 - kinda weird they are still 'working' on the case after they ordered the card. They better not be changing their mind about it

I don't think there is an order. They probably just got all the files that were received on a certain date and dropped them in a box, out of chronological order. Perhaps it's in order of alien registration number? Or there is no logical order to how it's being done? All I know is that the list is moving and we'll be done soon!

I have a feeling it is in order of when the actual card expires and not when your NOA came. My wife's card (with one year extension) only expires on July 7, 2008, even tough our NOA date is March 23. (yeah, we filed as early as we could)

If people listed their actual card expiration dates, then we'd know for sure.

Probably not -- junglee069 filed at the absolute last minute, so his NOA1 date (3/13) and card expiration date are more or less the same. People approved before him had later card expiration dates . . . .

Mine had an expiration date of April 21st, before I got my extension at the local office.

They send the cards out quickly. We were approved on March 31st and we received the card on April 7 from the VSC. I was amazed at the speed.

odd, i got another email from uscis - at 914am central today - it says the EXACT same thing as the one i got yesterday...their notifications must be spinning off duplicates - or they just ordered us two cards and didn't realize. haha.

VSC doesn't issue approvals in the middle of the week, they just send out duplicates of earlier approval emails (kind of like repeats on TV). That way they look busy.

Contrast them to CSC. VSC received our files in mid-February and didn't issue any approvals until the end of March. CSC received the NSC mass transfer files just a little over a week ago and has already issued about the same number of approvals as VSC.

Oh, to be in a rubber-stamp service center like CSC . . . .
