Congratulations!

While I am glad to see that at least some of the transferees are getting approved - it really makes me wonder HOW, if at all, they are sorting their applications to at least pretend there is any fairness ...
I am definitely NOT applying for citizenship - I refuse to feed this inefficiency with even a cent ... I just hope I get this over with soon so I can at least have a 10 year break from this crap!

I want to apply for citizenship b4 they hike the cost anymore. If we use history as a guide the fees will keep going up. So I'll pay the $675 and wait hopefully it wont be a very long wait.
I really hope that my approval is the first of many in the next few days for the TSC to VSC crew.

Thanks A LOT! Actually, I'm putting the NOA1 date as the receipt date at TSC (4/26), since that was the case with my NOA1, which was issued just six days before. I'm also putting the Last Touched date as 2/25 based on that.
Anyway, congrats to you, gatorlink! I know some of the other Losers who filed up to two months before you are disappointed that VSC is not doing this in chronological order, but the important thing is that they are doing it!

Congratulations! So I guess there is light at the end of the tunnel....
The evidence suggests that they have apportioned the cases to different adjudicator's desks and are not looking in cases in chronological order, as A_C should have theoretically been the first. Random batches...anyone else care to chime in?
Keeping my fingers crossed....
Congratulations anyway!!

I am a little disappointed that it wasn't A_C but thinking that maybe we've been distributed among a bunch of case workers, it is good news. As much as I want my wife to get approved, I really want those ahead of us to get approved before we do. Fair is fair (except to the USCIS!).

Can someone add my timeline to the list please.
Also is there anyone here that filed as single. I was divorced by the time the application window was opened and I filed as single. My ex was kind enough to write me a supportive affidavit letter and I had included quite some documents to prove our marriage. Since I filed as single though, I am kind of more nervous about this delay that all here are suffering from.
Thanks,
Yashar

Adding and welcoming Yashar (sorry, I don't know much about waiver petitions, but yours seems to be far less problematic than others, who were not on good terms with their former spouse).
I'm wondering if gatorlink's last name begins with an "A" . . . maybe they're doing it in alphabetical order (hence all the touching and sorting they did after the cases were received at VSC). I hope not because while our last name isn't Zyzowski, it ain't all that far away . . . (and while my wife's maiden name isn't Aaronson, it's pretty close, which would make me wish she kept that name!).

What's the date on what you call in your signature the "application received receipt" (i.e., NOA1)? Presumably, it's sometime between June 8 and June 13.

I am just like you guyz suffering from the transfers , my case got transfered from TSC to VSC and was updated as usual on 02/25 that case was touched, i received a letter yesterday that my case has been transferred to Houston District Office for adjudication. Please can someone shed any light on it, and also if it has happened with someone else as well. What was also weird in my case was when I received a letter from USCIS that my case was transferred from TSC to VSC dated 01/31, I also received another letter requesting more evidence, which I sent as well. So please can anyone help me out.

Sounds like you're going to get called in for an interview with an officer soon. Can't think of any reason it would be punted to a district office otherwise.

I'm not so sure, and I certainly hope not. But, as gatorlink says, we are after all talking about CIS. And other than perhaps having shuffled all of our cases like a deck of cards, I can't think of another reason for VSC to first approve someone who is smack dab in the middle of the pack chronologically speaking.
Does anyone else here have a last name beginning with "A"? (Or "B" or "C" maybe, just so we can test out this little theory in the weeks ahead?)

We have a "B".

No news out of the USCIS with regards to case processing times at service centers. What is so hard? I mean, its March 27 and they have yet to post dates from March 15th. I think they are too embarrassed and afraid of more bad press after the NY times article. The dates anyway are a lie. But the more lies they tell us, the more accurate a picture we can get (piecing a pattern of lies to get some sort of truth)

Our petitions are logged into there data base/system with our SCR# no way they will be re-organizes by last name for processing. We were granted the conditional Green Card based on married to an US citizen or permanent resident (I-751), and the only two basis for petition is filing jointly or not. For the pile of “filed jointly” it is up to the adjuster just to verify the legality of our ongoing marriage. Our petitions are maybe organized after “easy going” cases or cases that need more marriage check, like going trough ALL attachment to our petitions. So if someone attacked 250 pages of documents to there petition that mean a week of reading for the adjuster and for applicants with some few hard statement pages are easier. This is fun!!!

I don't seriously believe that they are doing them in alphabetical order. Actually, I don't know what to believe, nor what to make of the approval from the middle of the pack. Then again, those of us on this list represent about 0.002% of the total TSC-VSC transferees. So I will buy any explanation, short of one involving aliens from outer space.

So the current USCIS explanation that the delays are due to an unexpected spike in residency applications by refugees from the recently-gone-nova (the light didnt get here yet) Beatlejuice system? Leading to total applications for FY2008 spiking to 3,738,542,895 applications... they were happy to announce however that in order to minimise delays they were transferring all of these additional applications to VSC.
In order to facilitate the fair processing of these applications, all applications are now going to be handled alphabetically, however, unfortunately, all letters in the alien names come BEFORE the letter 'A' in the human, english, alphabet... therefore at the current time per application of 45 minutes per case, it will unfortunately be a little over another 319,000 years before any human cases can be approved... but don't worry... arrangements have been made so that your 10 yrs greencard will be able to be glued onto whatever remains of your gravestone by the time it is ready... so your fees will not be wasted! plus, due to inflation people will not only be amazed at what a good deal you got on fees, but quite confused about what this "united states" is supposed to be that you just got permanent residency to...

Oh! and also, the USCIS wanted to comfort filers in Chicago and let them know that there is no need to worry, that the Office in chicago is quite willing (given sufficient valid reason and explanation) to give I-751 filers a new 2-month visa stamp, every 2 months, until the end of the 319,000 years, at which point you will be out of window and need to contact the ombudsman if you wish to get any kind of service at all.

And the bad news is, the March 15th processing times for VSC went through the reverse time machine and VSC is now processing cases from 2/1/07. Hmm, sounds like some of the stories posted about the NSC. My best guess and I am not as detail oriented as James, is anyone before 4/1/07 that was transferred will be approved by 5/15/08 with a cryptic sorry folks e-mail and a credit on your 2008 federal taxes for the I-751 filing fee. It seems the space aliens are hearing our muttered musings about USCIS and have taken matters into their own hands, oops, uh, limbs, no that's not right, are using their extremities to ray gun the USCIS with continuous work harder blasts, and finding the ray gun must be turned up to full power to get results. In the past they only beings that were susceptible to such focused blasts were predator and alien creatures. An unfortunate side effect has been the refund of fees to our income tax in future years, and the beams radiating on the metal plate in my head are indicating a debate by the space aliens as to whether to give us a bonus, i.e. unapplied for citizenship for our significant others. Ahh, the plate has stopped throbbing, now it is time for sleep, perhaps the aliens have reached a consensus on the citizenship. More later when my plate starts throbbing again.

Okay, so the date now for the VSC is Feb. 2, 2007 on I-751 applications.
The most logical explanation is that they had to go backward on that date because of the TSC to VSC transfers. At least they are owning up to that fact. So A_C, the first of the transferees cannot complain becuase A_C (and the rest of us) are officially within the processing timeframe.
The flip side is that it does not seem that they are inclined to really speed up our processing; we are not an exception. We have been lumped within the standard processing timeframe. The upside is that they acknowledge us transferees and they are working on our applications and do consider them valid VSC cases hence the backtracking to Feb 1, 2007 from March 1 , 2007.
Good Luck to all!

Well, we all know that the processing times have never been connected with service center reality, regardless of what form is being processed. Bear in mind that VSC's date in January and February was March 2007, even though they had processed most of I-751s that were filed in July 2007.

Yup, some dates also gone backwards. Saw a thread on another post about somebody that filed in Nov. 2006 at the TSC only being called now for an interview. Hope this doesn't happen to any of us now that we are at the VSC, pending "standard processing". My guess is as good as anybody's how long this will take. No consistency. Would have just as good luck in the lotto...
