I don't think so, but you're further ahead than I am. I n eed to wait for my fiances mom to check her bank for the cheque details. I'm hoping it'll be cashed tomorrow. VSC seems to be speedy on this lately

I'm a February filer, too! I sent my packet off yesterday morning and I'm jealous of all you VSC filers! jest.gif Good luck to all of us! smile.gif

I wouldn't be jealous. CSC have been out-pacing VSC now for about 3 weeks running.
Robyn-n-Kris
I just wish they would speed all of ours through. My problem is I can't go see my sweety till Mid June. It's killing us with the distance since we can't make things go faster and have no other ways to see each other cray5ol.gif if we could do another visit before June we would but our situations don't allow it.

Ugh

I'll hopefully be getting my fiance's stuff by Thursday or Friday of this week so I'll be sending our packet out to VSC on Friday or Saturday.
Good luck to us all!

Random question, is it ok to send it via USPS or should I be using FedEx?
And something else I just thought of - HOW should I send everything? Like can I just paperclip my papers together and his papers together and put them in one of those big envelopes or are there specifics on how to do it unsure.gif

This is something I was actually wondering about myself. I know i'm going to send it overnight return receipt but wasn't sure if it mattered if it was USPS or FedEx.

Don't send it Fedex or UPS. There is anecdotal evidence that they're much better equipped to handle USPS over anything else, and you could experience a slight delay as your UPS/Fedex package moves through whatever non-USPS internal route it has to take. Send it USPS certified with return receipt requested.

With regards to assembling your packet, read here. It's under the guides section, General Assembly tips.

i sent ours usps express mail, it was about $20 and it got there the next day...i could track it online. i used paper clips to put things in sections in the order they are on the cover sheet...and then the clamp-type clips to hold it all together...and put it into a large envelope...the post office should give you a larger express mail envelope if that's how you decide to send it. good luck! smile.gif

I tried to send mine via Fedex (there's a fedex/kinko's within walking distance of my apartment and I went there to make copies anyway)...they said they can not ship to a PO Box and the guy said "especially because it's a government PO box...they REALLY like USPS."

Mine went to CSC...does VSC have an actual address or does it go to a PO box? And it's very possible that the guy was just confused...he didn't seem quite certain of what his job was.

I just checked for myself...VSC has an actual street address. CSC goes to a PO box. So you would be ok sending it via Fedex to them.

sad.gif Waiting for international mail does suck. You'll get it soon, though! I wish that I had started getting my packet all ready while I was waiting for his stuff...I had no idea how long it was going to take me to actually ASSEMBLE it. I figured "I just need to gather the stuff and then it'll be done." How wrong I was...it took me about two hours of highlighting, paperclipping, signing, and organizing once I had everything. But that part was almost fun, it's been about the only part of this process so far where I felt like I had some control over it...it was finally something that -I- could do instead of just waiting for someone else's part.

Yeah assembling these packs is NOT fun. I did it all for my fiance as he claimed it would take him weeks to figure it out - so I did it all, then stuck post it notres all over the place where he needed to sign etc, and then posted it all to him. He then went through, put in the extra missing bits that I couldn't do for him (like passport photo and birth certificate) and then mailed it.
And that took him a week!!! lol
It's all just a mountainous heap of paperwork though........I nearly went nutty doing it all!

Hey everyone, n00b from denver. Sent my 129f on Feb 5th, they cashed the check on the 7th. Getting the number off the check and then checking the status on line it says they have sent a letter. I take it that is NOA1? good.gif

That's a wicked fast NOA1.

I hope mine arrives soon.

Does anyone know how I can find out my reference number if I sent a bankers cheque rather than a personal one?

They seem to like USPS - they received my packet and check on Jan 28, and must have deposited the same day because the check cleared the bank on the 30th. They're getting some of these NOA1's done real fast (although the hard copy in the mail takes a bit longer). So hopefully today you'll get some good news!

i'm betting you'll have something real soon. smile.gif
Vernon Family
We sent ours to Chicago via UPS and since it was going by courier they gave us a non post box address to send it to.

I'm just waiting now for my check to be cashed or for my husband to get something in the mail.

Did anyone else send their I-130 and their I-129F together? We were told to by an immigration officer and to send them together to the Chicago address, but I'm noticing that not many other people did that.

Good luck to everyone!!

I think you had to do it that way because you're already married. You have to file the I-129f and your I-130 at the same time. For those of us who are engaged, we have to file JUST the I-129f so that our SOs can come into the country for the wedding.
aravis227
I know it's early yet since they only received my petition on Monday, but they haven't deposited my check yet! I don't have a lot of patience so this situation is killing me! blink.gif I keep logging into my bank account to see if it's hit yet.

How are you other February filers holding up? Are you doing any special long distance-y stuff with your loveys for V-day? I think my fiance and I are going to do what we do pretty much every night. Sit at our computers with video chat on and wish we weren't so far apart. I hope CSC gives me a Valentine's Gift...I'm hoping for an NOA1. biggrin.gif
