Sent my I-129f on Feb. 19th, but I sent it with a money order, so I can't check if the money's been cashed. sad.gif I just have to wait for my hardcopy of the NOA1. But, I'm excited! Good luck to everyone!

Welcome Haley, you and I are in the same boat, CSC and immigration from Canada. Good luck, it only took me about 1.5 weeks to get my NOA1, so hopefully you'll get it soon. smile.gif

I just checked USCIS, and we also got touched today. I hope CSC is making an attempt to keep up with VSC. It seems VSC outperforms them by 60-90 days.

As I recall, both service centers have hired extra staff, so they should both be getting faster, right?

I really depends on how they shift their case load. They seem to prioritize certain types of visas at different times, and it probably depends on a combination of political pressures and what types of visa applications are starting to pile up. For example, there was a period of about 2 weeks in January where no K-1's were being processed at CSC but VSC was approving like there was no tomorrow. And then all of a sudden CSC started kicking them out, and VSC started to dry up. I don't know what the rhyme or reason is, but there definitely seems to be some kind of workflow orientation that governs the approval rates for K-1's.

VSC got our I-129F on FEB. 8th

Still havent even checked up on it though cause I filed from abroad and my mom has been on vacation. DOn't have my file # yet.

Should get it today though... Goodluck everyone

I am in an enviable position of currently being with my fiance cause we live together abroad. Unfortunately though I have to leave for work back to the U.S. in April and the remaining duration of the K-1 process we will be apart.

Hows everyone doing?

Hello all Feb. filers! I am new here and I sent the K-1 paperwork out Feb.11, they received it Feb. 13. Unfortunately I sent a money order and haven't heard anything. No NOA1..nothing. Well at least I know they received it with certified mail. But from reading through all the posts here...it seems to me as if the VCS takes longer than CSC. I hope they'll keep up the work so we all can be with our Fiancees! Good luck to everybody.

You 'might' want to check w/ you bank. They might be able to give you a better idea of the numbers on the back of the check. I keep looking for them to deposit the one I sent so I can begin the obsession alongside of everyone else! Since your's deposited today mine should in the next few days I hope LOL

Try to be patient! smile.gif Your NOA1 should arrive in the mail soon, and it should have the case (receipt) number on it.

Mine was almost impossible to read, also. If you can see any of them...the number you want should be sideways on the check in the endorsement area. It should be the last line of printing in that area (at least mine was, from CSC). Mine started with three letters and it doesn't label it as a tracking number or account number or anything, it's just a random string of numbers.

When I saw mine, I just pulled all of the strings of numbers and randomly put them into USCIS' website until one worked! biggrin.gif

We got a touch on Sunday as well, they must have a big move around of all the recent files in VSC!

Hey everyone! I sent in my I-130 petition on Feburary 8th and I just got my NOA1 today! Thats good I guess. I read on the form however, that it can take years for a visa number to become availible. That sounds terrible, anyone like to elaborate on that one? I checked the NVS website and I couldn't find much on processing times.
Thanks! Good luck to all!

I got my return receipt today from the post office saying that USCIS received my I-129f on 2-21-08 (I sent it on 2-19-08). But, I'm assuming that's not the NOA1, right? I didn't pay with a check (money order instead), so is there no way for me to check my case status until I get the actual NOA1 directly from USCIS? I'm just becoming a little obsessive. biggrin.gif

Hey Cris - if I understand correctly you don't have to wait for a visa number if it's a family based visa, so you should be ok on that count. You're welcome to hang out with us here, but just so you know this is the K1 visa board, so most of us are not married yet, we're waiting for visas to get our fiance/es here so we can marry them. You might get more specific help/comments/understanding from the I-130 board. smile.gif

That's not your NOA1, they won't send that until they actually open your petition and deposit your money into their bank account. sad.gif Unfortunately you'll have to wait for the actual NOA1 to arrive in the mail. Mine came from CSC and took about 1.5 weeks, so it shouldn't be too long! It seems like an eternity while you're waiting, though.

Question - I have recieved my NOA1 on 4, that is also the last updated day at the USCIS status online web-page. I have not been touched since.

Is this within normal time range ? I just saw people been touched repeadetly soon after they recieved NOA1s, should I just call them to check?

Don't call them unless your processed date is passed by 10 or 15 days. I've heard that they get upset if you call them a lot. Mine hasn't been touched either. I think it's fairly random. I've seen people who got lots of touches, but no approval. I've also seen a couple of people post that they didn't have a single touch, but then all of a sudden there was their approval. I know it's hard...but be patient and it'll come through in time. mellow.gif
