My question is....How soon after embassy gets your case can you expect an interview to be scheduled? I heard they "cutoff" scheduling interviews after a certain day/week each month and if you don't make the cutoff, you wait till the next month. Any thoughts?[/color]

I know not to expect a date until atleast March, but just trying to gain insight about the process. Does it help to "drop off" the DS 230 in person vs. waiting on Packet 3?

A good estimate is about 2 months and I think they have already scheduled all the March interviews and I would look at late April or early May.

YES, I would drop off the DS230 instead of waiting on pkt3. The embassy is known not to get the pkt 3 to you and you will have to call the embassy to schedule an appointment to drop the form off and you will have to wait until the embassy gets paperwork from NVC before you can do that

Send them an e-mail. They gave us a date that my fiance could come pick up another form if it wasn't received in the mail by a certain date. As soon as he got it, he went to go drop it off the next day. Then I e-mailed them 2 days later to confirm they got it because a security guard took it from him because he didn't have an appt to go in. they did receive it!!! The mail is a bit slow, so if he can go drop off the form, have him do that. It saves days on the process. Hope this helps
