My fiancee and I would really like for her mother (and maybe her brother and niece) to come to the US for the wedding. Her mother doesn't yet have a tourist visa for the US. Since our fiancee visa is in process, do you think there's a high likelihood they would refuse her mother's visa on the suspicion that she would come and not leave? Geiza said that the Brazilian consulate has been refusing people tourist visas because they're "too old" (this happened to our photographer for the Brazilian non-legal wedding party who was planning to visit the US for vacation and was told because she was 35 she was too old for a visa). I've seen people who originated from other countries fly their whole families in. If it's clear that her mother is coming just for our wedding and she owns property in Brazil and plans to return after the wedding, do you think they will grant her request? I especially would like thoughts from people with experience with the Brazilian consulates.
Geiza is worried that if they deny her mother's request then her mother will never want to visit us.
