The old one used to tidy itself up behind me, and mark everything read when I exited the forum. But now I've realised that the old posts are just sitting there and piling up!
I see there's a 'mark all read' button on the very front page but I don't want to mark the entire BOARD read all at once - is there a way to mark just one section at a time so I can read the K-visa sections and then mark that and so on?

each forum board has an option menu in the right hand corner.. one of the options is "mark forum as read"
The new forum works too. It marks each thread read only after you view it and then marks each forum read only after you view all threads that are unread (noted by orange squares next to the title).

Can those "orange" squares be GREEN and a little larger? Some of us either have bad eyesight, shaky hands or irresponsive, truculent mice and hitting the target late at night after a good pub crawl can be a little difficult

CuteHe, well I like living colours, but really it's more to do with the colour wheel.
Right now the forum is all hues from 8 - 2, and nothing from 3 - 7
