So now how long do I have to wait for them to contact me?

YuAndDan
How long to wait for WHO to contact you? NVC? Consulate? By receipt what do you mean NOA1 receipt shortly after filing the I-130 OR NOA2 approval notice?

Your timeline is blank so am un-able to get an idea where you are in the process.

If I see your profile correctly, you filed your I-130 sometime in late November or early December, is that right? So this receipt you received is your Notice of Action1 (NOA1)? If this is so, you will be waiting a good 3-4 months, before you receive a second NOA, which will be your approval notice. In the meantime, you should read the guides to see what option(s) are available to you. You can, if you wish, file another petition, called the I-129F, include a copy of your NOA1 for your I-130, which sets in motion your pursuing a K-3 non-immigrant visa for your spouse. All this is explaid in the guides, here:

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...amp;page=guides

As for your timeline, once you fill it out it will not only show give you an idea of the various 'steps' in you process (because you must enter the dates for each step) but you will also see an estimated ajudication(approval) date, which is based on data from others here on VJ, who are in the same process as you and have completed their timeline. Please fill in your timeline when you get a chance.

You can do so by clicking here:

and clicking on "Edit/Add my Entry" under Timeline Functions.

Good luck,
