I called the 202# you gave me

Good Deal!!! ...Save that number...we can call them after the interview (G-d willing with approvals) to ask them if Visa has been printed...this way we have a good estimate on exactly when our SO's should get them in hand!

Some have taken as long as 2 weeks from interview to receipt of visa.

That's about the average...10 business day or 2 weeks... ...I've heard other Embassies give it same day or next day!

haha . You know, I guess there's a profile "look" of a female drug smuggler. You know the kind like in the movie Maria Full of Grace (GREAT movie by the way). So a common story is that you are a woman going back and forth to jamaica to visit a husband, but in reality your a drug smuggler like in that movie. Its apparently common, and I've seen the borchures about it that they give to kids. its crazy! The brochure is like a comic book, and shows a Jamaican girl who haivng a hard time making ends meet, her mother is sick and she has 2 babies. The thug drug dealers in her neighborhood entice her to make money by smuggling drugs in her system overseas. blah blah blah...it all goes down hill, and she ends up in jail, mom passes away and children become part of the system. CRAZY!! So I guess thats why these crazy questions come about, cause they are trying to see if i can prove that I really have a husband and the story is legit.

I LOVE Maria Full of Grace. It came on cable the other day and Andre was like WTH? I said, you have to see this movie. He ended up sitting in the same spot the whole time, like he was mesmerized and couldn't move.

Yeah...I finally just got to see it the other day too! VERY GOOD!! So dyam sad though!!! What people have to do to get by is just heart-wrenching!

I love this movie as well. I just can't believe the horrific ways that other people have to live to survive and stay alive...so shocking. It is one thing to hear about it but it is completely different to watch it and see the struggle. I watch a lot of documentaries and it is truly eye opening to see how different life is in different parts of the world.

Yeah it was sooo good! I love foreign films. Some people hate reading subtitles but after awhile its like I don't even notice the subs anymore. I think that movie won and Oscar, or it was up for best pic when it came out.

thank you but i didn't call the 202# i called the NVC 603# and heard the recording that case was tranfered on 02/04 to Kingston; then i called back after i stop jumping up and down and spoke w/a rep who said that the interview date was schedule for 03/18/08.....

Tonya, don't call the 202# to see if you have an interview date. Call NVC at 603-334-0700; the people at the 202# won't have it in their system until the JA Embassy updates their computers. Gill and Jason got the dates from the State Dept number because embassy schedules the date; for CR1/IR1 visas the NVC tells the embassy which dates they have scheduled applicants for.

Jason, congratulations, if I haven't told you already. Yes, your SO's child will have to go to the interview and will need to do a medical as well. If she's under the age of 15, she will not be required to do an HIV test. Here is the Kingston Medical information.

Hey Dimples, either one of you can schedule the appointment. They're going to ask for his interview date; they are going to try and schedule the interview at least 2 weeks before he has to go to the Embassy. This is just awesome. My hubby was in St. Catherine, so he went to Andrews Memorial. The stories were funny because they are going to tell him to strip and inspect him things!!! that was the part hubby never like, standing around naked in the doctor's office.

My husband is in St. Catherine as well......Hopefully we will hear something good this week.....It has almost been a year now.....

My husband called and made his medical appointment that is schedule for March 5th. He was told that if he needs shots that will be JM $9000 for the shots.......bwoy dat ah robbery fi reel

Which is why if he knows now that he needs any, he should go to the nearest clinic now and get them done. Just make sure he gets a shot record filled out when he does.

He's going to follow up w/his doctor this week to make sure that the 2 or 3 shots that he needs is not the required shots on the list.

Just wanted to say congrats!! Our interview is March 11th as well @ 8:45am. That seems to be a pretty popular date. Let's all walk out approved and celebrate!!!! Are you going to be there for the interview?

Have you sent them an e-mail? I just kept pleading through e-mails. The way they read, it seems as if I kept getting replies from the same person so we kind of built an e-mail relationship, because they never helped me over the phone. If it was completed that soon you should have one. Just send an e-mail to consularkingst@state.gov and copy kingstonivinfo@state.gov on it and one of them has to answer!! I did that every time and with persistance, lol!!
