Do all airports upon entering the US, have the immigration like JFK? I am trying to get my fiance here, but all i see is either Washington DC or Philadelphia. He does not have to come through JFK right?

yes...

Only JFK stamps passports with temporary EAD. Your OH doesn't *have* to go through JFK but if you want the EAD stamp it might be worth booking two separate flights - one into JFK then one from JFK to wherever your nearest airport is.

If you book straight from your OH's nearest airport to your nearest airport, chances are it won't go through JFK so you might need to be a little inventive with the flights and transfers laughing.gif

We came through Miami...

Try getting a flight that connects through Europe - Paris or something.... those usually will then fly to NY. I know it means 2 transfers, but it would be worth it if you want the temp EAD.

I know from Egypt, the only direct flight we could find to the US came through JFK anyway so we didnt' have to do the connections that way.

BTW: if he flies through NY, give plenty of time between flights. My SO had it relatively easy and he still barely made his connecetion 4 1/2 hours later.

You can come in where ever it is most convenient for you. All international flights to the U.S. land at a location designated as a POE. (Well, barring an emergency landing. ohmy.gif )

I wonder why JFK is the only POE to give EAD. wacko.gif so many abbreviations.
Jeraly
I'm used to it - teacher training gives you a crash course on almost every acronym you can imagine laughing.gif

Not all airport are equipped to handle immigration...only major airports..

Here is a list of current Ports of Entry airports but then you may not find an international flight that flies directly into your local airport.
