I've mostly been a lurker on this site.
But we finally got approved today.
I filed my first papers in April 2007 with the help of a lawyer. She got her first interview on Dec 18, 2007 and was refused.
Sent more paperwork and she returned with it on Jan 8, 2008 and was refused again and told our case is under review and not to submit any more documents and they would contact her when they were finished. I contacted my Senators office and told them about my case and what the status was. I was told they would contact the consular office and then they would get back with me. About a week later, the senators office called me and said they were still reviewing my case. And they would keep checking on the status of my case. Three days later she get the letter saying she is approved and come to the consulars office.
We we're both caught off guard. We thought we were in for a long fight. Thinh is now going to go spend about three weeks with her parents and other family. I purchased a flight ticket today and she will arrive on March 11.
My advise to everyone. send lots of cards and letters, copies of emails, and chat logs. tons of photos of family and friends. Letters from any prominent individuals from your community that can verify your relationship. lots of little knick knack type gifts. T shirts from your city or state. be creative with your ideas, i made a video using my photos from my trip to vietnam set to music. I also sent her a couples ring with our names engraved on it and our birthstones.
Don't get discouraged and don't ever give up! GOOD LUCK! AND BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL.

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry to ask, but would you mind filling in your time line? It gives an estimate of when we all will be approved and the more information it has, the better!

Not enough evidence to support a bona fide relationship. And on some paper Thinh wrote in N/A, and they said to leave those spaces blank.
They also wanted from me, a detailed description of our relationship from the beginning to current. So I wrote them an 8 page (printed on computer) statement written out as a deposition and it was notorized.
