Hello everyone,

just like everyone else i have been reading a lot, trying to educate myself about the whole step process for an I-130 pettition for my wife in Belarus. My case was entered into NVC computer system on January 15th, and no forms have been generated yet. sad.gif I have been waiting and waiting, calling the automated system everyday and nothing, starting to worry. It has been 13 days and no updates. I have noticed that almost everyone's ds-3032 and AOS fee bill was generated around after 13 days. Also, i have noticed that everyone has used James shortcuts, any trouble with the bar codes? any trouble at all?? I have these two forms ready to send, should i send them in the day after they are generated or should i wait, what do you think? I mean i would do anything to speed up this whole process, but could James chortcuts slow things down? Well any feedback would help me out a lot, so thank you for your time.

I used the shortcuts, and made it through NVC in just under 3 months, not bad time wise.
I put all the notes from the forum on the visajourney wiki, so you might check it out.
http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Jame%27s_Shortcut

What I learned was that they didnt seem to care if the form I mailed in was perfect, so long as their readers could process it.

I really think the NVC people work hard, and try to help you when they can.

If I was you, as soon as I knew the forms were generated, I'd send them in as fast as possible.
It was a 2 week cycle for almost all my forms.
I'd mail them next day delivery, 2 weeks later the phone message would change

Are you using James shortcuts for your ds-3032 and the AOS fee bill?

I echo the thoughts of the OP. Has anybody run into problems when generating their own forms? Has anyone ever been advised as to the "legality" of it? KWIM?

I would consider sending Choice of Agent by e-mail also. We didn't care sending AOS bill ealier. But we are ready with ds 230 and additionals documents, and translations, and coverletter smile.gif. Good luck with speeding your process.

Yes, take care of the choice of agent (DS 3032) by email. In that case, you don't need to attach anything with the email.

I used James' shortcuts while going through the process without a problem and so have others who were at the NVC with me. As long as you follow directions well and understand how to generate the forms you should be ok.

There is no point calling nvc automated s. everyday. Any updates occurre only on Tuesdays morning. smile.gifI know what you feel. It takes a lot of self discipline for me try to call only once a week to speak with an operator. (NVC put incorrectly my date of birth into the system and I hurry them to fix it)
Alex1986
which documents do they require to go with the ds-230?

http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3176.html

Here you can determine if you going by standart or appointment nvc processing. If standart only ds 230
if appointment download instructions from this page and you will find list of documents.

So another question for everyone that reads this......which way is it faster, emailing the ds-3032 or mailing it out with the next day deliver. The reason i ask is that i noticed that it takes about 10 days for NVC to enter the form into the system, does anyone know about how long it takes them if the form is mailed out w/overnight delivery? Again thanks for everyone's responses.
Mononoke28
The reason why most people e-mail the DS-3032 is because the paper copy needs a signature from the beneficiary and that would take a while to get from them. So e-mail is faster. But if you were clever enough (most of us weren't at the beginning of the process) and generated the DS-3032 yourself following James' shortcuts, had your spouse sign it and mail it to you before it was generated by the NVC, you'll be way ahead of the game and won't need to e-mail them at all.

I did that but my fear is the barcode....i generated and glued it to the form on the top but im afraid that the machine that they use might not read it right becuase it might not be in the right place. Other than that I have her signature and everything filled out with the barcode on top glued.

We just sent our DS3032 yesterday by UPS. I had no choice but to write the case number at the top rather than create my own barcode because for some reason the generated barcode would not appear on my computer (I got a box with a red cross) so I couldn't print the barcode. I'm awfully nervous about whether it gets through although many members have said that writing the case number is ok. Hope it goes through!

I have a question about the AOS Fee Bill. Your Wiki instructions say to change the date of the bill to whatever date the NVC automated system says the bill was generated on. However, our message says that the forms were MAILED, and not GENERATED, on Jan 21st so I am concerned that the generated date may be different from the mailed date? Should I have the AOS Bill dated Jan 21st or should I call the NVC and ask when it was generated?

thanks!

Yes, give them a call and ask.

And yes crys - the case number is the one NVC gives you.

It's Melvin

Diana, my dear, thank you as always for spelling and using my name correctly!

People think there is someone named "Jame" out there, lol.

So i just called NVC and asked them about my case and they didnt say anything new about it....i have to wait 4-6 weeks to recieve documents from them, and unfortunately i have the feeling that its how long it will take sad.gif I asked them another question about the IV form, she told me that they dont send those out anymore, i will have to download them from the internet. Right now i have a feeling that all of them say something different

I used James` shortcuts (THANK YOU JAMES) for DS3032 and AOS. What I did with DS3032 is I generate the barcode and right under the barcode was my case#, I cut the paper barcode+case# and glued on the form, next day delivery, next day entered in to the NVC system. So it work this way. kicking.gif

I was meaning to ask if it's faster to send a paper DS3032 with the home made barcode or to send an email claiming to have lost the form etc. So paper form took one day? And email apparently takes about 2 weeks? Do we have more people to confirm this pattern?

Another Q: Is it ok to type the DS3032 and DS30 data in the PDF file and then print it (except for the signature and date) or do they want it all hand written?

Fyi, our DS3032 was accepted yesterday. We wrote the case number on the top in black ink. We didn't generate our own barcode. One more thing, I just got the original DS3032 in the mail and it was not identical to the one I sent in. The NVC's DS3032 had my country of birth and some numbers printed at the bottom which my self-generated DS3032 did not have but my DS3032 still went through.
