Do you and your spouse have the same work schedule? If not, do you make "dates" and reserve special time to be together?
Not until last week. I asked my husband to talk to his boss to let him start work at 8AM (for 9 years he was working the hours of 6AM-2:30PM but he leaves very early and I hated that) and leave at 4:30PM so him and I can go home together. I start my work at 7:30 in the morning, leave at 4:30PM when I have so many projects to work on and by the time I get to the city, I can pick up my husband from the BART station. From there, we can take off to some nice restaurant and talk. Occasionally, we go watch a movie or go to a place with scenic spots. I make it a point that we spend quality time, being busy during the day and getting tired from work is not an excuse for us. I'm the one who actually push for this quality time. My husband appreciates it I can see.
ETA: On weekends especially Saturdays, we synchronize our schedules. By synchronize, I mean half of the day we do overtime or I attend charity work or am busy with socio-civic activities so by the time he gets off work, we can get busy spending time with each other and with friends.
Sorry for the double post.
