Hello All:
Quick question...has anyone heard of the embassy in Bogota requesting to interview the U.S. Citizen? Does this ever happen or something that should be planned for since its not 'required' for the citizen to attend?

thank you!

If you are the US citizen and you don't plan to attend the interview, be prepared to fly out if need be. There have been cases, not many though, where the CO does not approve the beneficiary's visa until the US citizen goes there to talk to them. It usually happenes when they don't find any credibility in the case or if they have doubts you can clarify for them.

Like I said, it's pretty rare but you need to prepare for it.
