Hi,
I sent my electronic DS-156 to my fiancee as her interview is coming up. I made one mistake. I forgot to add two letters before her passport number. Is this a problem? Can it be changed at the embassy during the interview. I know I can do another electronic ds-156 and resend it to her but is that a problem too since these forms have bar codes and probably is in the government's "system"? If you have any experience with an issue like this, please let me know.
Thanks!

It is my understanding that the DS-156 is NOT transmitted electronically, the bar is code is read at the embassy by the time of the interview.

I think you should be ok, filling out a new DS-156 and print it again.

Don't you think it would be a lot easier if your fiance fills her own form? Instead of you filling in it out and sending it to her again, after all she is the applicant.

Thanks eric and teresa,

I guess it wouldn't hurt to do another electronic ds-156. The one that gets registered at the embassy is the one that goes into the system for good. I have asked my fiancee if she wants to fill it out this time and gave her a link to the website. She does have problems interpreting the difficult words and is afraid to make a mistake. So close to the interview that we don't want to get rejected on a technicallity.
