Does the Consulate call the beneficiary's school to verify if he really attended the school that was mentioned on the DS-230 form?
ZeeNusah
I don't see the consulate doing that. But then again I could be totally wrong. If I am not mistaken the Ds230 is biographical info. The only way I can see them verifying some of these things is if they do a field investigation.

But, why would that be an issue? You either attended or not.

Thanks Zee for clarification. My friend's fiancé attended school in Congo, and that school was torn up by the war, and there is no way he can be verified by the school offcials. The school was re-opened, but all the documents are not available.

I would have to think, no. I think they only would physically check on background information if a serious problem or other red flag popped up. It really just information to be put in a database.

They might - but it definitely wouldn't be "routine"; probably only in the event of hardcore investigation.
