We had chicken adobo last night with brussel sprouts - Bee has had a phobia of the veggies in the past, but I convinced him to try it. And he liked it! biggrin.gif

I think tonight's dinner will be Korean shortribs from TJ's with some rice, and maybe a salad. Num num.

Oh, how do you make that Nini? I have Adobo seasoning and I don't know what to do with it. unsure.gif

Well I definatly won't be taking a photo of the disaster ha ha. Damn now I have to remember to boil them a bit too, good thing you mentioned that. I will be making them for dinner tomorrow night, so will have a bit more time to read up on it...

It's ridiculously simple, and the recipe looks barbaric. We have this every week though laughing.gif

1/2 cup white vinegar
1/2 cup soy sauce
generous amount of white or black pepper
three garlic cloves
two bay leaves

2 pounds chicken thighs
15-20 brussel sprouts, cut in half

Simmer vinegar, soy sauce, pepper, garlic and bay leaves in a saucepan. Add chicken thighs and sprouts. Turn 'em over occasionally until tender. Serve with rice - make enough for leftovers!

Ta-da!

Oh. That sounds really good. I think I'll make that one night. But where does the adobo come into it? unsure.gif laughing.gif

Change of plan! I've decided to make bacon and potato chowder instead. good.gif With buttermilk biscuits. yum

Ok, pork loin chops dipped in egg and then rolled in crushed weetabix biscuits, sauteed with grilled sweet peppers, baked sweet potatoes and broccoli.
KarenCee
Tonight, Joel grilled pork chops and brushed them with honey mustard sauce (honey and mustard, no mayo) and he made homemade potato salad. I've not had to cook supper since Saturday...which is the day the grill came home with us.

I'm loving it while it lasts... happy.gif

I'm so excited ... I ate real food for the first time in a week (I am SOOOOO sick of soup) smile.gif

Had Mexican rice mixed with ground beef (seasoned with taco seasoning), topped with cheese, salsa and a litte sour cream. Also had a salad.

Glad your tummy is feeling better autumnchik!

We had baked potato soup last night. I adore this recipe, and it's the best one I've found. After my volunteer interview yesterday, when I was in a part of the city I hadn't been before, I found this awesome bread store called Breadsmith. They had about 30 different kinds of fresh breads! I bought a multigrain, and a rustic Italian. Couldn't pass up some good homemade soup with fresh crusty bread for supper so that's what we had! Tonight? Hmmm, I dunno yet....

Here's a link to Breadsmith's. You might have a location in your area. The bread was delicious.

Ohhhh, lucky you for having a bread bakery in your area, Carla. I'm jealous. sad.gif

Yay weetabix!

We had dinner last night, hmm what was it, must have been memorable - oh right, pancakes and eggs and some chicken bacon - yes it was good.

I'm thinking spaghetti for dinner tonight, I have tomatoes, peppers and onions I can use with that.
Udella&Wiz
Had pancakes and bacon last night...yummy.

Tonight is Chicken boobs on a bun with BBQ sauce and fried onions I think. Maybe some salad smile.gif

We have Panera breads instead of the other shop http://www.panerabread.com/....yay bread!
autumnchik
Breadsmith sounds wonderful ... none near me unfortunately. I love Panera, but the closest one is an hour and a half drive (seriously, Northern NH really lacks chain restaurants .... you could make a killing opening a Panera up here!).

I am leaving for Florida on Saturday, may have to find a Panera down there.
Carlawarla
I love Panara as well. Well, it's St. Louis Bread Company here. I've gotten bread there a few times, just a wee bit more expensive. The several that are nearby don't have a lot of the breads they have listed. Maybe I don't go early enough? They have about 5 or 6 types of bread in various sizes when I'm there. But I do love their bread. It was just nice to go to some place different, that has way more types.

Autumnchik, are you going for a little R&R? Enjoy your trip!

Also...don't click on that panara link... laughing.gif twice I clicked on it, and couldn't figure out why it was coming up page not found. That's because the "yay" at the end was included with the link. Duh me.

I just took chicken out, I thought, time to make Mr Ho's chicken!! Not sure if I will, or maybe spaghetti with chicken.

Did you two call each other last night or something? laughing.gif

I have a bunch of fresh veggies I need to get rid of before we go away, so I'm going to make chicken or pork chops with... carrots and turnip with parsnip and some broccoli. I think. unsure.gif

I've been to Panera Breads in Buffalo and I was very impressed with it. Haven't tried their breads yet, though.

We are having red snapper something smile.gif

We're heading to Denver for a week. Hubby's going on business and I'm tagging along. Which should be really interesting since I've left all my winter clothes in Ontario. Might need to do a bit of shopping while I'm there. wink.gif

The house two doors down from me just went up for sale today, T! Want me to go check it out? laughing.gif

Oh I remember now, about Denver. You can always just wrap yourself up in a warm blanket and do like a bohemian look - need a back pack and a saucy hat and you are good to go.

You're right! I'll pretend I'm very artsy and hang around coffee houses with my sketchbook and beret.

Actually, there's a few houses for sale around me. (I'll try not to take that personally.) I'll go around and pick up those little information sheets from the ones that have them. The one two doors down doesn't have any. This'll give me an excuse to go to the open houses now. laughing.gif
~Nini~
Tonight is up in the air. I was planning on making thai chicken curry, but forgot to defrost the chicken breasts that are buried in the freezer. They won't thaw on time, so... I sent Bee a text message at work. His response: "restaurant?" Meaning... the local Belgian brewhouse in the neighbourhood. Mmm, cassis lambic.

We're pinching our pennies though, so I might put together a simple pasta and leave it at that. sad.gif

No need for me to cook! From the timelines on VJ it looks like it will be at least another 6 months before I see my husband. crying.gif I guess I have plenty of time to decide what to cook for dinner.

Yeah, come on, Flames. That was a hoot! And I'd just like to know.... do you get your pizza free if it's not there in 30 minutes?

Here's one, Trailmix. The only other house that had a brochure is a FSBO (for sale by owner) so it's not on MLS. I'll scan it and send it to you. If I venture out for a longer walk I'll pick up some more.
