Making a vegetable soup.

Prime example of why you don't ask your husband to pick something up at the grocery store:
I asked for a zucchini and he brought back a cucumber. laughing.gif

jodee
I need me some red meat, so we are having Rib eye steaks for din dins,..smile.gif
*Marilyn*
last night we had Kraft dinner with hot dogs in it and corn on the side.. it was quite yummy... I have been buying the Kroger brand of mac and cheese and I think it taste better then the Kraft macaroni and cheese down here...

this morning we had popovers, hash browns and sausage... and for dinner we are having turkey burgers and corn on the cob.. yum yum..
Kathryn41
Kind of having left overs tonight - left over macaroni and cheese from last night; last of the cooked ham, tomatoes from the garden and the last of the corn on the cob. I'm full! Oh, and I guess we'll have the last of the strawberries for dessert.
autumnchik
We had fish, roasted potatoes and corn.
Carlawarla
Might cook up the other ham steak I bought a few weeks ago. Went to the farmer's market this weekend, and have a TON of veggies to polish off.

We ended up having spaghetti with garlic toast last night.

Oh I don't know if I mentioned - we picked up some BBQ sauce a couple of weeks ago - Bullseye Original, big lettering on the front stating - No High Fructose Corn Syrup! I thought that was great!

Also, found some Boysenberry Jam the other day at Target - unfortunately it is far far too sweet.

Funny you should say that. We were in Sam's Club the other day and I saw some English muffins with that as a marketing initiative on the package: "Does Not Contain HFCS!" It's nice to see there's been a breakthrough.

I make my own BBQ sauce and get requests for it from people all the time. luv.gif

Tonight we are having beef and barley soup. I made it using some of the roast beef we had for dinner last night. (Sorry, Trailmix. Forgot to take the pic. dry.gif ) My husband is working late tonight and he prefers something which won't sit heavy on his stomach so late in the evening.

We are going to have hamburgers and fries for dinner, they are on the way as I type this!

I'm hungry. Funny how when you get in organizational mode all the reg stuff stops happening, like getting something to eat huh.gif

I've never given anyone the recipe.... just the sauce. Well, except for my daughter, because I'm no longer there to make it for her. But she had me come and fix hers because it didn't taste the same. It sounded like she did what I told her, so I have no idea why it didn't turn out. unsure.gif I guess I would have to watch to catch whatever it is she did, or didn't, do. Which reminds me..... I need to write the recipe down so I can include it in the cookbook I'm making for her for her wedding day.

Even better! Since we are practically neighbours you can just make some for me laughing.gif

Tonight we have Tomato soup and harvest grain loaf bread. This is cream of tomato that is a british import, interested to see how good it is!

Not only is it NOT weird. It sounds delicious! smile.gif

We had a ham steak last night. I made a lovely veggie casserole with that, that you put in the oven with a cup and a half of tomato juice, some bread crumbs and shredded cheese on top. Very good. We had couscous as well with sun dried tomato and lentils.

Tonight I think we'll have speghetti squash with marinara sauce.

Krikit
I'm thinking Sunday roast leftovers today. unsure.gif
MissStacey
I have some salmon marinating in a curry sauce I made up. I'll serve with curry couscous, salad and either asparagus or steamed artichoke.

Yahoo! Secret Sauce for us kicking.gif

Well the Heinz brit import cream of tomato soup is just absolutely delicious.

Not sure what is for dinner tonight, I got up so early I can't imagine wanting to cook, if I get something going now I might have enough energy to peel potatoes or something yawnnnn.

Actually might do like Cassie did last night and just have potatoes.
*Marilyn*
the chicken we had yesterday was so yummy and hubby barbecued it to perfection.. mmm yum...

i marinated it using kind of a combination of two recipes.....

1/4 cup ketchup
2 to 3 tablespoons lime or lemon juice
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
1 to 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
2 to 3 garlic cloves or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
a few shakes of pepper

I used this with 4 chicken drumsticks... the recipe says you can use 12 drumsticks but I am not sure if there would be enough marinade for that...

oh and one trick I learned from another recipe is to put a few slashes in the chicken... this helps the marinade to get inside the chicken better... oh and I always take the skin of the chicken... and I also love to use Ziploc bags for marinating.. just throw in the marinade and add the chicken and zip it up... good.gif

I only marinated the chicken for about 3 hours but it still tasted good.. it would be even better if you could marinate the chicken for a few more hours or even overnight...

then bake the chicken in the over for about 45 minutes or grill them on the barbecue..

I ended up making orange ginger beef stirfry with jasmine rice. I also fried some onions and mushrooms then added them to the remainder of the roast beef and gravy and froze it for a day when I don't feel like cooking.

Oh, and my husband told me he will be working late tomorrow so I have started a ham and pea soup from scratch.... sticks tongue out at Trailmix..... and left it to gather flavour in the crockpot.

I get so hungry when I read about the good meals everyone is preparing. We had speghetti squash last night with homemade marinara sauce. It was very good. Garlic bread sticks accompanied.

I don't know what I'm going to make tonight. I might have to post what I made tomorrow. laughing.gif I have lots of choices, I just don't know what to make.
MissStacey
Tonight I am making shish kabobs. I have some steak I have been marinating since yesterday and I have mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, zucchini, onions, red peppers.

I have leftover couscous from yesterday and I'll make a salad.

Well yesterday we ended up having the fried chicken/potato salad/coleslaw combo - which I like. I was sooooo tired yesterday, you would have thought I had been burning the midnight oil for days, when in fact it was just 1 night that I had only 6 hours of sleep laughing.gif

Anyway, I took pork chops out yesterday, so hopefully I will have enough energy to cook those tonight! Along with some potatoes and ... something.

It was actually really good. He used a different type of cheese though and it was delicious! I will have to ask him what kind he used, it was like a fancy poutine. laughing.gif

Yay for fancy poutine!!

Well, we have a rotisserie chicken from yesterday, so that is now what is for dinner - the pork chops will have to wait or whatever.

I'm tired....yawnnn

I have to get up off my chair and find something to go with that chicken. I'm thinking canned chili and some french bread tongue_ss.gif
BH45
We had cabbage rolls and scalloped potatoes. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I'm stuffed so should be good till morning and breakfast time....*giggles*

I had a jambalaya rice mix and added turkey smoked sausage and onions and peppers to that ... also had a salad. It was yummy.
Krikit
I kind of feel like spaghetti today. I think. But I do have a lot of salad fixins, so maybe salad. But it's a rainy kind of day today so comfort food sounds good. Hmm. Hotdogs and homemade french fries are sounding kind of yummy. Or maybe lasagna and caesar salad! OMG. I have no idea.

MissStacey
The kebabs we had last night were awesome!! I think I am going to doing something similar again tonight. I have some chicken defrosting and I will marinate those in teriyaki sauce, and throw them on a kebab stick.
Carlawarla
We were at Gene's work picnic yesterday. It was good. Lots of good salads. I made a tabouli salad...one guy said...is that tabouli yours? I said yes...he said, "ah! the tabouli queen is here!" I later said to Gene, that even if his co-workers liked it, maybe I should bring something else to a potluck? laughing.gif So, we weren't that hungry at suppertime. Just cleaned my fridge out, and heated up some leftovers.

Tonight I think some rainbow trout.

I cooked pork chops - period - three little pork chops to be exact.

We ended up ordering pizza later.
Krikit
We had shrimp and clam pasta in cream sauce with caesar salad. It was yummy. Then we had Jos Louis for dessert. I need to get rid of them before they expire. lol
