Pardon my ignorance but does the NVC send you a letter about anything or do you have to call to find out the status?

thanks
Zee Bee
You can call NVC to find out if your petition has gotten there 603-334-0700, 1, 5 to talk to someone (K1s are not entered into the automated system).

You can also wait for the letter from them which will have your new case number.

It took the NVC 6 months to tell me that my I-864 had not been recieved. In reality it was lost by them because it was signed for. By the way they did not loose the $70 processing fee! Don't wait for them to contact you, call them you can always use your USCIS number.
DavidSimona
Thanks for the help.

Its a different process for K1 vs CR1.

By the time I got my letter from NVC my case was already at the embassy. K1s are not at NVC long, most are there a week or less.

thanks zee. I finally got through after trying all morning. A very nice lady checked, and told me there was no record of my receipt number yet. I'm not going to freak out or anything, because I was approved on a Friday, and Monday was a holiday. So it's only technically been two days.

Thanks though, Ill follow up sometime next week. good.gif

It took about 5 weeks for me to get my Pack3 from the embassy
Jaseball
It took me 6 months from NOA1 to NOA2, then one month from NOA2 to written confirmation from NVC.
Credzba
Jaseball your timeline says just over 4 months for noa1 to noa2, not 6.
Your doing good.
You will have your lovely bride here soon!

Best of luck to you!
