Hello,
I followed some advices here and filed both I-129F &I-130 together in late October 2007. NOA-1 for 129F arrived one week later. The $355 check has just been cleared last week (01/18/2008). Am I supposed to get NOA1 for I-130 at all or not util after I-129F gets approved? Since I filed both I-129F and I-130 together I don't really know what to expect.

thanks,
viktor

I feel like I am the only October filer who hasn't received a NOA1 yet for the i-130. My was received at the Vermont Service center on 10/22/2007 and my check has not been cashed yet. Is there anyone else out there in the same boat. Please let me know because I am feeling they lost my application. crying.gif

Give it a little more time. Mine was done around the time yours was and I got the NOA1 just this week. I didn't see a check cashed until last night so that was _after_ I received the NOA. I'm sure you NOA will show up soon. Chin up!

Thanks...I hope so though. This is more than I expected. wacko.gif By the way congratulations..

how is eveyone doing with their NOAs?

i bet someone must be right about the rules. there are obviously no rules in this game. They deposited my check on 1/10/14, check cleared 0n 1/14---but (1) i still haven't received NOA1. (2) I am unable to check my case status online using the EAD number i got from the back of the cancelled check. (3) I called 603-334-0700, ext 1,5 and the person i spoke to couldn't tell me anything about my case. He said the uscis should be the one to send me the approval... and i said, wait... i haven't even received the 1st recipt notice... he added that he was in NH, not VT and that he couldn't give timelines and bla bla bla...

hey - maybe they will send me both notices at the sme time. do they send priority or regular mail does anyone know?

don't expect anthing from this process to sound right, follow procedure or make sense at all
keep your expectations for USCIS as low as you can, or you're in for a lot of disappointment

Not sure if I am the only LPR in here, but I spoke to Customer Service today asking about my case for whom i couldn't even view the status online (got the case number from the back of my cancelled check). I was told that VSC is trying to bit the backlog and therfor keeping case numbers off the electronic system. They couldn't provide any further info.

Does anyone understand what that means? Has anyone been told the same thing?

hmmmmm... well i will be calling them today or tomorrow with the same question and will let you know what they say.

Hi, this is my first time here so please be patient with me if I'm posting incorrectly.

I sent both the I-129-F and I-130 petitions to processing at the Vermont Service Center in August. I felt trouble was ahead when I went to the post office to mail the I-130 at the end of the August and saw dozens of others in line with packages going to the same address. I knew there would be a backlog because of the significant fee increase at the end of August....and, like me, I knew everyone was trying to beat the clock on the fee.

Anyway, for some reason things have gone smoothly for my husband and I thus far. It was a long time before USCIS cashed my check and it cleared the bank so I remained worried, but just before Christmas I received a letter asking for evidence of our marriage....I had tons of evidence and sent it off promptly before the holiday.

On January 10, 2008 my husband and I were in Egypt together when I received email notice that our I-130 Petition had been approved and sent to the National Visa Center.

Now, here's my problem...

I am finding what seems like such remarkably conflicting information online about what happens now that our petition has been approved and sent to the NVC. Can anyone give me the lowdown on the process? I'm back in the US now and my husband is back home in Algeria. Does anyone know what we should expect at this point?

I'd be so grateful for any help or advice you can send my way.

Thanks!

Mimi

I would definitely recommend that you speak to an immigration attorney before you move on. Please do not take this lightly or you will find yourself in an undesirable situation like mine... take a look at my postings when you get a sec.

Hi! I'm the original poster.
Yesterday (02/05) I called Vermont. The clerk couldn't find my I-130 in their system using ECA# stamped on the back my check. They only have my 129f. Next he asked whether I sent my i-130 to Vermont or Chicago lock box and whether I paid for I-130 or I-129f and then placed me on hold for about 5 minutes. He came back with the usual application backlog and fee hike stories and then told me this: recently (don't know how recent that was) they had to forward 100 or so i-130 applications to Chicago lockbox for data entry. Until then they don't have anything about my i-130. He encouraged me to check back in a few weeks!

I'm not certain if this helps with the topic, but I filed (using attorney) our I-130 at the end of October. Receipted in January and then sent the I-129F. I-129F was receipted within a week and I've been instructed by my attorney that it is currently taking between 110-150 days from the receipt date until USCIS approval, and then another 10 days before we receive a NOA.
We don't expect to hear anything before mid May, but still keeping out fingers crossed.

Best of luck on a quick process...
