i am clumsy an broke 2 ribs last year..and had a hard time breathing....and got a stick stuck near my eye...that was the most recent pain..when i was in the army i had 18 spinal taps in a 6 hour period....that was the worse...

i witnessed in my office a painful experience....when i worked in kansas corrections...one of the prisoners was seeing me...and i noticed, that his zipper was down....i had a 20 year old secretary in my office at the time.(who i was overly fond of) so i ordered him to zip his trousers up or i put him in solitary confinement for a month or roll him to max..and out of the program.....which meant 13 more months in prison////

anyway, he was so unnerved by my kind request that he pulled hard and quickly on that zipper...ripping the skin off his c##k and getting the skin caught in the zipper...he yelped...and i looked at him and blood was running down the front of his trousers....

anyway, he was taken to medical..and the sadistic nurse...jerked the zipper away and sewed his c##k up without any local pain or numbing medication.....since he was my orderly//i filed a complaint for him...

in 2005 I was sick for almost a month and I was finaly starting to get better and I broke 2 ribs coughing. I've cut off my fingertips before but the knife is so sharp it doesn't even hurt until after the fact. So I think the ribs will be the worst pain for me.

Try having a baby.

That's painless.

oh yeah those hurt troll! I had plouracy (spelling?) when I was 15 or 16 that hurt so bad I thought I was dying

I had some pretty bad ear infections when I was younger and those hurt like hell. I've had some pretty bad sunburns that hurt. I was yelling in pain when I landed wrong on my leg and tore my ACL. I remember hopping on to my motorcycle one cold morning and getting a charlie horse in my leg...that was a real killer because I couldn't stop riding.
A.J.
yeah i had that same feeling, im dying and it cant come a moment too soon cuz this hurts

I've never had anything major, knock on wood. Good thing, because I have such low tolerance for pain, even a headache makes me complain and crave attention blush.gif
Yes, child birth will be very interesting unsure.gif

Either ear infections as a child or dry socket after wisdom teeth removal in 2006. Thank god for the Argentinian dental system, which eventually saved me.

Had bad asthma/respiratory/allergy problems as a child that always made me feel like I was going to die.

I was in a car accident when I was 16 and I slipped 5 lower back vertabrae and got whiplash. That is probably the longest lasting pain as I will have back problems forever and still have pain often.

The worst shocking pain was probably when I was sitting in the front passenger seat of a van and was leaning out the window and had my hand holding the part between my door and the back sliding door area (the door was open). Someone proceeded to slam the van door shut and I couldn't get my fingers out fast enough so they got latched in the van door ohmy.gif It wasn't really painful until they opened the door and all the blood rushed to my horribly dislocated and squished fingers. That and the following recovery process for what seemed like months was the worst pain. Every little thing I did with my fingers and hand was horrid pain and you don't realize how much you use them until you can't. One of the fingers still doesn't bend properly. Ouch!
Aymerlu
I thought having a 10 pound baby was the worse pain until I was in a car accident October 2005. I shattered my right ankle bone on both sides, and broke my tibula and fibula. I can still remember than pain. It was like as bad as it hurt, I couldn't cry, I couldn't moan or anything......all I could do was puke! I remember being in the ER, looking down at my foot and was like OMG......my foot is almost backwards!!!! ohmy.gif

spinal taps...not fun...I was 9 very sick.

The nice thing about childbirth is you forget how bad it hurts...till you do it again. My Grandma said to me after my first child..."not as much fun coming out as it was going in was it" blink.gif She is not your average Granny laughing.gif Used to suffer from debilitating migranes that was no walk in the park either..I would get them so bad the vessels in my eyes would burst, eww, not very attractive. Thankfully that is all behind me now, but at least I have learned to manage the pain, great when you want to pierce something good.gif

Ouch ouch ouch! I can't imagine the spinal tap thing, I think having someone poke around in my spine sounds absulotely horrid. (alas no epidurals during childbirth, the throught of a needle in my back scares me more than any pain)
I don't have nearly as bad of a feeling in my stomach reading about the privates stuck in zipper though. Being cut in and sewn in your genitals is very common for women *snicker*

With my first baby I gave in and requested an epidural. The dude who stuck the needle in my back "missed" a wee bit and that REALLY REALLY hurt. Felt like my head was being electrocuted if that makes sense. I had a spinal headache for two weeks after the fact wherein if I so much as sat up straight HUGE shooting pains went into my head.

Well something else that scares me is that my daughter was a 35 weeker......a tad bit early and still weighed in at 10 pounds. Oh yes.....she got super stuck too. Couldn't get her out and they couldn't push her back to do a section! blink.gif My son was a 34 weeker and was 8 pounds. My doctor said my next baby would be at least a month early and between 10-13 pounds!!! I'm just not in a hurry to do that again. blush.gif

Question really depends on one's pain tolerance, I suppose. Childbirth was painful, but being on an open air ski lift when it was -25 degrees F made me WISH I was back in childbirth.

My worst pain was being kicked by someone else's horse 2 summers ago... I had just fallen off mine - long story, and NOT a habit - and one of the other horses (a mare - I hate mares) in our group hauled off to try to kick my horse, caught me on the side of my right calf. Had I not been wearing half chaps, my bone would have snapped in two.

We were 8 miles from camp on a trail ride on our way to a restaurant for lunch. We made it to the restaurant where I foolishly unzipped my half chaps to put ice on my leg.... I knew I had to eat something but I was SO nauseous... The pain of zipping the half chaps back up after my leg swelled like a balloon was almost unbearable. And we still had to ride the 8 miles back to our camp site. 30 mins into the ride, the heavens opened up and I found myself in the middle of the WORST thunderstorm I've ever been in in my life. Lightning was literally overhead and the horses were going nuts. We couldn't go any faster than a slow walk because the trail was instantly muddy. I was FREEZING and within about 30 mins, found myself sitting in a PUDDLE in my saddle. At least it kept my mind off my leg.

When we got back to our camp, we still had to untack our horses, load all of our gear (which was soaked), pack up my trailer (there were 4 of us on an overnight trail ride) and drive back to the barn - another 2 hours. By the time I got home and to the ER, it was about 12 hours since the accident.

I'd fractured my tailbone from the fall off my horse, but my leg was not broken. They worried about blood clots so the next day, I went in for an ultrasound of my legs. No clots. I was on bed rest for 2 weeks. I thought I was going to go mad.

It's been 2+ years and I STILL have a bruise, some edema on my calf bone, and a flat spot on the side of my calf muscle that is permanent....

There are details I left out and I keep thinking I might capitalize on it one day and write a story to submit to one of my horse magazines.... all that aggravation should be worth something!

Worst physical pain was when I had my car accident & needed brain and spinal surgery.

Worst pain ever is when I lost my grandmother. It's still hard 8 years later & there's not a day that goes by that I don't feel a gaping hole in my heart from her not being here anymore.

I see a pattern, childbirth and ear infections and I will agree with both. I had a hideous ear infection about 5 years ago on the Thanksgiving weekend and when I finally found someone open to deal with it I begged for them to just cut my ear off or at least lance it. The doctor just chuckled but I didnt think it was funny at all.
and many aspects of childbirth are painful and pretty much suck.

Jen's story reminds me of when my dad and I were camping in the summer of 2005. He had just gotten a new ax from Sweden and was so excited to try it out that he forgot his glasses. (He'd had Lasik only a few months ago and wasn't used to needing eye protection for wood chopping since he used to wear glasses.) He ended up with a stick in the eye! It was horrible! After I looked into his eye, I threw up. (Still feel bad about that.)

Unfortunately, it was already getting dark, so we had to just go to bed and my dad was really scared about losing his job since he'd lost an eye. The next morning we had to canoe and portage for eight hours to get to our car (luckily we were that close) and he had to lift heavy things since we had so much of it. From there, we had to drive six hours back to Minneapolis before he could see a doctor.

Luckily, after like 3 or 4 surgeries he has his vision back. It was pretty scary though.

Ok, first let me say OUCH!!! for all the experiences listed here. Whoo, I think just re-living some of these experiences through reading them was painful enough. Mine pale in comparison since I have not yet had children...going to my sister's lamaze class with her last year was mighty painful; it had me second-guessing on whether I wanted to have children. I kept teasing her though when she was going through labor as the video we saw said "the mother goes into a dream-like state when she is in the final moments of labor"..I kept asking her if she had gotten there yet laughing.gif laughing.gif lots of respect to all the mothers out there. I look forward with trepidation, the moment of childbirth.

I would say the worst pain I have felt lately was after a root canal on my front tooth...I could not eat and could barely speak. It resonated through my mouth, it was terrible. Then as a child, I tore the ligament in my ankle right before senior prom and fell hard on my back when I was a child. I had to sleep on the floor for a week so that I had a hard surface to lie on.

Lisa - I agree; my worst emotional pain was the loss of my step-mother. She was my heart sad.gif

I had dry sockets & it was bad but not unbearable.

I had bone removed twice from 2 toes. And then had pins put in 3 of them. Imagine an infection in one of those (pinned) toes. Imagine bumping those pins all the time because you wore them for 6 weeks.
