I'm thinking of applying for the state police when I become a citizen. I was looking at the application and you have to list every job you've had but...it lists 'state' and 'zip code' for the locations. Would I only give them my American work history then? Seeing as the background check would probably go by my social security number that is all they would know isn't it? Just wondering because I have a vast Canadian work history that I can't even remember all of it. lol

Anyone know what I would have to do?

You can list Canadian work history, Just sub Province for State, and Postal code for Zip code.

If its something that can be beneficial I would include it. (the stuff from Canada)

Your best bet would be to contact them and ask what they require. They will be doing a criminal background check which will include Canada!! I'm ina RN program, and they searched my Canadian background as well!! One would think for Police it would be fairly thorough. Maryland is actually thinking of allowing permanent residents to become police officers. Best of luck
