If you look at the "big" picture the feather turns out to be some kind of plant behind us and the fire is actually the sign for the Mixup store behind us (CD store). I'll have to admit though that at first when you said that I was like, wow that is a feather. Then I looked at it more closely...
And thanks for the compliment Marta!

Melissa, I am glad you had fun. I wish you had better news to give us. I really like the photo of you two, I did not question his hair or the feather, just why are the letters on the bldg backwards??
Marta, I can also tell your sister that I was in CDJ by myself and felt safer there then on some of the roads in downtown Louisville. I hope that your sister will believe and trust in what you say so that you two can remain close.

An excellent question to which I have no answer. I had noticed that too. I don't remember seeing any backwards words but I guess they were.
Elvia, I see your cute hubby likes the same color as Javier-yellow! Are you going to post a pic of you two together??

They are all good little brothers..... I must say though that my brother in law Juan (the one on the left) looks alot like your Javier. The one in the yellow shirt is Julio and the one on the right (the cutest one

) is my husband Raul!
Now I really do not have a picture of us together so that is why I had to take a picture of a picture of him and then I had someone in the office take a pic of me today. I will post that one later.

Funny you say that...... I just cut it off about 3 weeks ago. I usually blow dry it and then iron it but it was humid here in the DFW area so I just took a shower and did the easy fast thing.

I never blow dry or do any sort of styling to my hair. My hair is too easily damaged. However, not styling it means I don't have to condition as often. My hair stays healthy mostly by shampoo alone. Javier made me blow dry it once while we were in Mexico because he wanted it straight and sleek. My hair's not entirely straight and a little crazy towards the ends.

That is why I love the weekends.... I let my hair air dry and then just condition it like I did this morning. It is just a pain to have alot of hair and then on top of that have it long! I was tired of all the styling I had to do to it in the mornings

I hate taking showers in the evenings so I have to wake up extra early to blow dry and iron the hair.
having it this short gives me alot more flexibility.... like my frumpy days i just do what I did today and presto..... ready to go

What's with these men liking long hair? I am now trying to grow mine out for Javier too. I wish I didn't have to dry or style mine. It would be quite scary if I didn't do anything to mine, even when it is long. That's one reason I like it short, when it is long it takes forver to dry and style. Mine isn't entirely straight either so if I leave it to it's own devices, oh man, what a mess.

Send me the hair you had chopped off! Another thing I noticed in Mexico, particularly on TV-hair extensions! It's like, the longer the better down there.

I just had this kind of experience today. As I got home very very late last night I finally got in the shower at 12:30. Well, then I went straight to bed with my hair still rather wet. When I woke up this morning there was this big lump in the back sticking up where I had slept on it. It didn't look good at all. Luckily I was able to wet it down. My hair's not too bad when not blow dryed. It's mostly at the ends where it starts waving in various directions.

Mine just looks frizzy all over. I have to smooth it out pretty good. Plus I have this really weird hairline in the back and it doesn't lay well. Then I have a cowlick in the front. It's just a big mess. I really have hair issues. Plus, I am really particular about my hair. It has to be perfect or I have big problems. I can't stand to have a hair out of place. My hair dresser messes with me, he always styles it in one of those messy styles. He knows I can't stand it. It looks good when he does it but I can't do it myself. I make myself crazy trying to get every hair to be perfectly messy.

I have had both long and short hair. I prefer short, but like you say they want long. Well to satisfy me I wear it up ALLLLLL the time, but it keeps him happy because he knows it is somewhat long. I had it down to almost my butt last year and went and had a little more than 10 inches cut off for "locks for love". That helped me get rid of some of it with a legitimate reason for him and one that helps out children who don't have hair due to illness. My hair is so thick and corse that I don't think blowing, ironing or otherwise would make it lay like mexican hair. I just wash, condition (or I would not be able to get a brush through it), brush and pull up.

Mar 6 2006, 03:42 PM
It's funny you say lay like Mexican hair. Javier's hair is so corse. It lays funny too. It all grows straight forward on his head. He has a very weird hairline in the front. He used to wear his long with it brushed straight back. I finally got him out of that. Now it is short with the little long piece in the front that he sticks up. It's just so darn cute. It really looks much better short than long. He has some curl in his hair too so when it gets long it starts getting wavy.
Traviesa
Mar 6 2006, 03:45 PM
Javier's hair, which you might be able to see in the picture, is short on the sides, on the top is about 2 inches long and curly, so he gels it down facing forward. It is really cute hair.
I think his whole family has good hair. I remember when I was at his house one time, his sister came out of the shower and she was brushing her hair in the living room. The brush just went straight through her super long THICK hair-no tangles or anything. I was quite jealous.

So I just caught up with all the TV I missed last week. I saw the finale of Dancing With the Stars and was pleased to see Drew win and Jerry come so close. I saw all 3 episodes of American Idol and was VERY happy to see those two girls go, but was sad that Sway had to go. Those teenage boys who keep singing old man songs really are the ones who need to go.

Thank goodness you finally watched it. I was so glad Drew won. I couldn't believe Stacy came in third. I just knew Jerry had won with his big fan base. But no, it was Drew. I haven't really been watching American Idol. I have other shows to watch when it is on. I do try to flip over to see who is going home but couldn't last week because it and Survivor were on the same commercial schedule. Now we can get back to talking about the shows. It nearly killed me not being able to tell you who won Dancing with the Stars.

He's certainly not the best. I think that Chris guy is the best. I hope Bucky doesn't get voted off-he's too cute and sweet and reminds me of my ex-boyfriend who would never have succeeded so far. I would like to see Bucky succeed. As for girls, I like Mandisa a lot and Kelly and Paris.

I like Chris too. I also like Bucky but I wish he would wash his hair. It's just a little too greasy for me. I wonder what they will do to him in the makeover if he gets that far. I still really like Paris. I have missed Mandisa singing except for the first time. She did really well then. I will definitely watch tonight as there is nothing else on that conflicts with it. Tomorrow night and Thursday night is when it gets tough for me to flip between stations.

Yeah, I made my whipped cream. I used whipping cream, vanilla, and sugar. I used my electric mixer. You could always just buy whipped cream but it won't taste the same. I think the homemade whipped cream is the best part of the cake. Can you send some down to me after you make it? Javier ate all of ours last night and he didn't even offer me any. He said he knew I didn't want any. He could tell. I was like, Thanks, I appreciate it. Now all we have is that nasty chocolate cake. Ick!

I'm sorry to do this, but, well....I'm just gonna do it because I'm starting to get angry.
What is taking so long for this Advisory Opinion????????? We were told 2 months waiting time. It has been almost 3 months since we sent the thing in. Why is everyone incapable of understanding simple concepts and helping out how they are asked? Beverly Conroy, despite my many efforts at getting the Senator's help, went and screwed up the inquiry, thereby wasting more of my time. I can't get ANYONE to give me a simple freaking answer of yes, no, or not yet on the status of this thing. I call and they tell me to e-mail. I e-mail and they don't answer. I e-mail again and they tell me they're not going to tell me anything. I'm stuck waiting on inquiries done by Laurel. And she sticks to some unwritten protocol that says you can only inquire once a month, despite the acknowledgement e-mail from Legal Net stating ITSELF that you should allow 7 working days for an answer. I think that's pretty clear that waiting 30 days is not necessary. Believe me, if there were any way I could find out the answer myself I would have done it, and a long time ago at that. I hate having to rely on people for information who have no personal vested interest in my case whatsoever and probably view me as an ever-present annoyance. For heaven's sake, if the interview hadn't gone the way it did, we would be almost to the point of our Waivers being approved. Now we're sitting around on our butts hoping we will get to file the Waivers and the timetable's pushed back now by more than 4 months. I'm irritated. And I'm sorry.

I really need to do some grocery shopping but I have about $15 available to me right now (including credit cards) until Friday. I asked my mom if she would give me a grocery store gift card and she said she would. So hopefully tonight or tomorrow I can get some food!

Oh poor Melissa. You sound like me before Javier came home. I was the same way, remember. Always eating frozen dinners or PB and J sandwiches. I never had any groceries in the house. I didn't have the money for them. Well we have to be creative now. We still don't have a lot of money to spend on groceries so we buy things we know we can eat more than once. The quesadillas will last us two or three nights. Then the tamales will last us another two to three nights. I used to never eat leftovers but it is a have to thing with Javier. He won't waste food at all. Which is good but I had to get used to it.

Javier's kinda the opposite. He doesn't normally touch leftovers which is good because neither do I. He would eat them if that was all that was in the house though. Well, since I last posted I have got myself a free dinner (with the parents) and a grocery shopping trip after that. Plus I made an appointment to cancel my membership at Curves.
