Charity…sorry about the weather. This must be getting frustrating for you. I hope you guys are able to work something out. Your appt & anniversary is next week, right? My mom got married that same day to my step-dad….21 yrs and counting. It is a good day.

Stephanie: Yeah they are both next week. The same day. With all that's going on with Javier not working I wonder if we should even go to the appointment. It's just more money we are going to spend that we don't have. I am so tired of the weather and Javier's boss. As if we needed more stress added to our lives, now this.

However, my opinion is if you put off the appt you may not be able to get in for a while and that may frustrate you both more.

Hang in there! And use your anniversary day as a day to treat yourself to an appt where you will find out everything is A. O.K. and they will give you some ideas about it all and then you can treat yourself out to a dinner and relish in the fact that you love each other mucho!!

Thanks guys! Javier and I went to lunch together since he wasn't working. It was nice. We talked things over. His dad has decided he is going to let Javier help with that rock job after all. No matter what the lady says. So he is going to do that tomorrow and Friday if he doesn't work again those days. So that should help. I also agree about the appt. I think it was a sign that we got in so soon, most people have to wait a month or more. I just really don't want to put it off anymore. So things seem to be working out.

hi, girls. I'm in just to give a quick hello and to say I hope everyone is ok. I am getting so depressed here but in 2 days I get to go home so I can see my kiddos, and in 2-3 weeks I get to go to Mexico to see my papasito. I can't wait.

Elvia: I see you down there. I just wanted to let you know I have missed seeing you around. I hope you can come in and talk with us.

Tabta: It's actually $750 for both. It's really not a bad deal. I just told Javier yesterday, I think I am going to go ahead and buy the tickets. I really don't think they are going to get much cheaper, what with gas and all right now. I paid $350 when I went in October so that's about the same price as it is now.

Javier isn't working again today ladies. Just keep us in your thoughts, it's going to be tough paying the bills this month. It just couldn't have come at a worse time, all our bills are due on the 18th. Plus, Javier is off on the 18th for our appointment and then he's off again on the 24th and 25th for our trip to the beach. I just hope he can work some over time next week, that is, if the weather cooperates.

The beach? Is that for your anniversary? How fun! How far are you from the beach…didn’t you say you kind of live in the mountain area…what city are you close to? 4 questions….16 more to go…..ha, ha.

We live in the mountains. We are going to Hilton Head, SC so it takes about 6 hours to get there. I live near Boone, home of the the NCAA 1AA National Champions, the Appalachian St. Mountaineers. I figured you may have heard of them, they got a lot of media coverage there for a while. Anyway, it's near Grandfather Mtn. and the ski resorts, Beech, Sugar, Hawksnest. We are about 2 hours from Charlotte and about 15 minutes from the Tennessee line. Yes, we are going to the beach for our anniversary. It will be the only vacation we get for the summer. So I hope the weather cooperates while we are down there too. I think I got all your questions answered. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts. He should work next week no matter what the weather because they have another site they can work on that is inside. Thank goodness. It's supposed to clear up tomorrow too, so maybe he can at least get one day's work in this week.

Charity: I agree with Elvia, call them before you are late and maybe they can work something out with you. I know you can change the date due with most companies. Move some of your bills to the first part of the month or the last of the month so everything is not due at the same time. Maybe re-arranging things will help you guys get through this rough patch.

I can't believe this...I was called "cold-hearted" over on I2US for pointing out that crossing over illegally is a crime. I mean, HELLO, is this some kind of mystery? What do they think illegal means?

The weather has finally cleared up here so Javier is working. Yeah. He even worked half a day on Saturday. He goes on Thursday morning to apply at another construction company to see about a job there. He'll probably end up staying where he is, but I am letting him make his own decision on the matter. Not too much longer till our appointment. I am getting nervous. I hope everything turns out okay.

At least half of the Monday is over already. Not too much longer today. Hopefully it will be better tomorrow.

Stephanie-- I could not agree more. I just need to get it though his thick skull.

Charity-- Tried that last year. I bought him a gold chain and told him it was from Emily since she was too young to get him anything. Evidently went over his head. I told him again this year and he made that comment that he was not my mother.

Benita: I still can't believe he said that. We'll have to work on him. Let him know he's in the US now and that's how it works here. Maybe he will come through next year.

Stephanie: I had a friend that was given one of those crappy plastic rose vases from the Chevron station that they set out at Valentines Day. Needless to say she threw it out the door onto the driveway and broke it. Most guys just don't have a clue.

Stephanie: It's funny you say it's the thought that counts. I told Javier I didn't want flowers and he said, "what you don't want something for love, you want some material?" I had to explain to him that I appreciate getting flowers but I prefer to get something that will last a little longer and I can get some use out of. I also agree that having him by my side is the best gift I could ever get. I'm glad to know it's not just Javier who is clueless about buying gifts.

So I got him some things while I was out at lunch. Since we are going to the beach next week, he wanted to take his fishing pole with him and fish in the ocean. He doesn't have any gear for that, so I bought him some. I know it is something he will appreciate and something he will get plenty of use out of.

So, girls, how did the phone calls go to give him some hints?

My husband and I don't exchange gifts for any holidays. If anything I get him a card and write him a love letter. I used to do this a lot, but we've gotten to a point that we'd rather save our money and when we make a bigger joint purchase on something we both want, we can go together and get it without feeling guilty. I have told my husband I'm pretty low maintenance, I just would like a letter from him now and then, on notebook paper even. He used to do a great job at it, I have tons of love letters, but the last one I got was on the day I moved to Mexico to be with him.,,, in 2003. Hmm. I'm going to have to get on him like that, my birthday's at the end of this month hehe

Hey everyone. I started my job as an Independent Direct Care Professional today. I did 4 hours. Already filed my claim electronically and am awaiting payment. cool huh? Diane is happy she siad she hopes ss # does come fast so she can put his butt to work . she said 10 months of vacation was plenty lol.

Getting a butt to work sounds great, I have a butt at home that we need to get to work. 10 months of vacation----what about 2+ years. I know he is ready, and I hope that helps us out with his attitude. I wish that he was the one that was pregnant. For some reason he is just not understanding of me being pregnant. He will sleep all day long if he is not watching Emily, then when I get home he is ready to run. He has to go play futbol or visit his cousins. What the hell they have to talk about for 6-8 hours is beyond me. But he comes (not all the time) dragging his butt home at 3 or 4 in the morning. Waking me up and wanting to do the laundry. Or picking an argument and he ends up waking up Emily. I ask him how he would feel if I woke him in the middle of the night for something like that when he is drop dead tired. Sometimes I just want to make all his family go away, is that bad of me?

Benita: Thank you! I'm sorry Alex doesn't understand what it's like to be pregnant. If he could just wear your shoes one day, I think he would get it. Hopefully he will get it one of these days soon. He wanted me to tell you he is very sorry for not talking to you yesterday. The owner of the house just happened to be there when you called. He felt really bad for being rude.

Well, while I was in the shower this morning, Javier went outside and wrote in the yard with the lawn mower. It says, "I love you, Felicidades" with a big heart around it. It was so cute. I want to take a picture of it so I can have it forever.

Benita…sorry to hear about Alex. I hope he starts to wise up that his family is you and Emily and the little Bambino and that he needs to spend time and help out at home instead of running off with his cousins (who perhaps have NO ONE at their house waiting for them). It’ll be a rude awakening the day somebody isn’t waiting for him. They always realize too late. We’ve been having some of the same issues. I think a lot has to do with Miguel having so much freedom and no one to be accountable to while he was in Mexico. We are going through a lot of adjustments. I am hoping for the best.
