Benita: When I was pregnant I had morning sickness the whole pregnancy, it never let up. Tell your Dr. about it maybe he can give you a diet that will help, my Dr. did. Also she prescribed some medication because I would lose weight due to it, sometimes I would have to get an IV with suero because I was severely dehydrated. Eventhough my last pregnancy was really hard on me, I want another one. I'm waiting until Alberto is here and we are married though, he's been wanting me to have one since last year. Take care of yourself and enjoy your pregnancy!

I made a promise, I prayed to God that if he would grant me my prayer, I would go to the top of Mt. Cristo Rey and take Alberto with me to give him our thanks at the cross. I hope he answers my prayer. I am getting so anxious.... somedays are harder than others, I am fine at times and then at others I just won't, or can't function. I feel like my life is on hold and I'm just going thru the motions so that time passes.

Thanks for the information. It is funny the doctor asked on April 3rd how I was feeling and she told me that I am right in the thick of the being sick part. She said it should pass after I get into the second trimester. With Emily I was just sick in the morning. I would eat a cracker or a potato chip and then I would feel fine all day. This little one is determined that I not forget I am pregnant ---all day long. Although I think it is getting better. I am munching an apple right now and that seems to have helped.

I am sorry the administrative processing is taking so long. I hope that you get an answer and that you two have to plan a trip to Mt. Cristo Rey not so far in the future. GOOD LUCK and again thanks for the information. By the way do you have a boy or a girl? How old and how was the potty training experience? I am getting ready to start Emily on it this weekend. I want to make sure that I have time to dedicate to her. I just have to make sure Alex is ready as well since he will have to keep it up when she is not in daycare.

Charity: It is supposed to ease off in the second trimester. I am sorry that you are working so hard, but glad to hear that you are rapidly catching up.

Melissa: Sorry you are having a rough day, do what Charity says and take it easy. Just remember you can pamper yourself without it costing any money. (Give Elvia a reason to be proud of you.)

Hey everyone, It is so HOT here . almost miserable. I get headaches alot too melissa. Tacho's mom said for me to peel a cactus and put it on my head. It actually did help! I have been busy going to the dr's this week and paying bills. hope all is well.
noviademexicano
My youngest is a boy, he is 4, he was a preemie. He was a sick baby, 2 months in the NICU, but now he is caught up and has no worries! He started potty training right before he was 2, I explained it to him and he just started going on his own, plus it helps that he wants to be like his older brother (16) because he tries to act all grown up. Get Emily those pullups, it will be easier.
chagalafamilia
I am going to get a headache, but mine is related to my office location. Here is a photo taken from my office out the window. I have a view of the Louisville International Airport. They are getting ready for Thunder over Louisville this weekend. So all the planes for the airshow are coming in or are practicing. Here are the photos. I just had to take #2, Because the blue angels are now flying around over the plant where I work. I had to go out in the rain to take the last one.

FYI: I bought Emily some pullups last night. But I let her run around for about 10 minutes without anything and what does she do, pees in the kitchen floor. Right after I asked her if she needed to go to the bathroom. I looked on the internet and it says that you don't ask them if they need to go, you tell them that they are going to go. Wish I knew that last night. blush.gif

I remember those days with my girls. Now they think they know everything! How fast they grow.
Well I'm taking off now, they just shut off my water, I'm gonna go pay it before they close. I would blame it on lack of funds but it's more a case of ADD.
chagalafamilia
Yzuniga: OK, so you have a 4 yr old boy, a 16 yr old boy and then you mentioned your girls. So do you care to give me a total number. biggrin.gif Alex and I are not sure how many we want. I am getting up there, so if there are going to be more after this one, they are going to have to be close together. I don't want to be 47 like Geena Davis and having twins.
elvia
Hi girls.... i just popped in to say a quick hello.... I am the only one that will be here at work today so I'll be busy. Have a good Friday
Bootylicious
Hey girls! I have been popping in and out. Haven't seen anyone about so I keep moving on. Just wanted to tell everyone hello and have a great day. It's all rainy here today. I forgot my umbrella at home so I am going to get soaked when I go out for lunch. Maybe I can bum one from another lady in the office. I hope so, if I get to wet, I might just melt. laughing.gif
chagalafamilia
Guess no one is hanging around today. It is pouring down rain right now, hopefully it will clear up and we will have wonderful weather this weekend. I am not sure if I will get out here again today, but if not I just wanted to tell everyone to have a great weekend. biggrin.gif

OH....I forgot to mention, my mom called me today to confirm that she and my step dad are going to move to Paraguay to be missionaries for a year. They are moving in August, right before the baby. That is going to suck. crying.gif
Bootylicious
Oh Benita, I was hoping they could postpone it for a while. That totally sucks they won't be here for the baby to be born.

Everyone must be very busy today. I hope you all have a great weekend.

ashleydpinzon
Benita look at it this way. Maybe alex and you and the chitlens can go to paraguay to visit them! That would be awesome and it is so beautiful there! our church went there on a missions trip about seven years ago.

It was really hot here today and I had to clean my car out . So I started around ten thrity and then finished around five as it got hotter i stopped and then abut four thrity it started raining and cooled it down so i was in my car with the handy vac and the ac on how funny right?

Hope yall do all have a great weekend!

Hello ladies! Good Monday morning to you all. I hope everyone had a great weekend. Ours went well. We went out for my birthday on Saturday to Chili's. It was sooooo good! (Don't worry Elvia, mom and dad treated) laughing.gif Then they took me shopping for my birthday gift. It was really fun. Yesterday, my actual birthday, we didn't do anything. Javier sang mananitas to me when I first woke up. It was too cute. Then we just went grocery shopping and ate smores. It was fun too.

Elvia: You would be so proud. We bought a paper yesterday and clipped coupons. We got enough food for the week and the weekend for $66. I was so impressed. We were very conscious of what we picked out and looked for the stuff on sale. Last week when I went shopping I only got enough food for 3 days and it was $67. I thought we did really well. I can't wait to get the paper next weekend so we can get some more coupons. I think I may be addicted already. It was so nice to see that total go down after using those coupons. Javier didn't start his rock job this past weekend because it rained. He is starting it this coming weekend. We will have to postpone the plane tickets a week or so. That's okay though, maybe the price will go down by then. Yeah, right! laughing.gif

elvia
wooo hoooo.... I am really happy for you.... see it all takes some getting used to and bam! It just hits you. You are one conscious buyer. I am glad you are being disciplined with your money. By the end of this year all of this will be a distant memory
ashleydpinzon
Does anyone know what the closest airport to North Collins NY is?
Bootylicious
Ashley: It's the Jamestown Airport but I don't know how big of an airport that is. It may be a small one.

Elvia: I certainly hope so. I can't wait to be out of financial trouble. It will be so nice not to have to worry about having money to pay the bills. kicking.gif I think you have to be ready to do something too. You have to be willing to change your habits and make a difference. It is nice that Javier and I were both at that point. It has made it much easier to handle the transition. He was so cute helping me pick out coupons yesterday. Contemplating whether we really needed it or not. laughing.gif

Hey Gals. Just wanted to poke my head out here for a second. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Charity: Glad you had a good birthday. Sounds like even though you are watching money you are still having fun. Keep it up.

Talk to you later. Got a little headache and it is about time to eat some lunch.
ashleydpinzon
charity why didnt my tickertag show up ? wasnt I to use the html code?

Okay I got it!
Bootylicious
Ashley: I like the ticker. I don't know, sometimes there is a glitch in the system. I had mine forver and then one day they were gone. I had to go make them again. Glad you got it working.
ashleydpinzon

HOLA CHICAS!!

Hope all are doing well. It was absolutely beautiful this weekend so we got out and enjoyed it. Amazing what a little Seratonin will do for the brain (I think it is Seratonin, right?).

We've been spending a lot of time with our friends who just got back from Mexico. Their baby is so cute, with fat chubby cheeks. Ha, ha. Can't wait for our day to come, though all in due stride.

hope you all have a good week!!
Bootylicious
Stephanie: Don't you just love those little chubby cheeked babies. They are so cute. Glad things are going well with you and Miguel. The sunshine does do wonders. I love it. I just wish I could go somewhere to enjoy it. biggrin.gif

Hola muchachas! I hope everyone has a good day today. Not much going on with me. Just wanted to say hello to everyone.

Elvia, I have news for you, Senora! Family Unity is included in the latest version of the immigration reform bill. Anyone with an I-130 pending will need to pay $2,000 at the interview and will get the Visa instantly, provided it is signed by the Senate and the President.

How do I know this? Because I got an e-mail from Laurel last night telling me I needed to hurry up and marry Javier so we could start the I-130 process. I decided not to.

That, and keep reading www.immigrate2us.net.

She posts all the news over there. The most recent is in the I-601 forum under the title of Attention Fiances or something like that.
Bootylicious
I read that yesterday too. She is telling everyone to go ahead and get married. It seems like a good idea but I am wondering if all those people take her advice and file the I-130, will it bog them down? Will it make getting an appoitment for them take forever? It seems good on paper but in real life how will it work out? Sorry if I am the party pooper, just thinking over the possibilities.

Well I had already decided against it mainly because it would increase our waiting time drastically. Like as in we would have to wait for the I-130 approval, NVC processing, plus an appointment (aren't those taking like 9 months), and after that we still have to file the I-212. Not good...not worth it...at least in our case.
Bootylicious
That's kinda what I was thinking. I mean, it would drag out the process drastically for most people. Then if all these people do get married and file at or about the same time, then it will just make that wait even longer. Maybe I am completely wrong on this.
Traviesa

No, I think you're right. Which is why I for one don't want to do it. Now if it were like Elvia's situation-already filed the I-130, etc. then this is great for them! But I don't think it's going to provide a lot of help to fiances.
Bootylicious
Right. It would be awesome for those who already have an I-130 approved. If they can get on the ball and make a decision about the law. How many more two week vacations are they going to take? Memorial day comes up at the end of May, will they be out that whole week too? I just wish they would get on with it and make a decision.
InLoveInMexico
Plus I think you have to consider there is no way of knowing if the SEnate and the President will sign the bill as-is with that clause still in it. The way its gone lately, when its sent from the house to the senate and vice versa, the bill is completely revised. To me it sounds like a risky endeavour which even if passed as-is, would cause a LOT longer wait at Juarez,..... which is already taking forever.
Traviesa
Thing is, guys, I have started daily praying to God that something will happen in our case (I just started last Friday). I mean, is this the something? Am I ignoring something I should be paying attention to?? I don't want to make the wrong decision!
Bootylicious
I don't know Melissa. It's a hard call. It's not just the wait time either it's the money issue. How much more money would it cost you? You are really going to have to do some serious thinking about it. I wouldn't just dismiss it and say no right off the bat. Think about it long and hard and see what you are willing to do. I would just keep watching the news and looking at I2US to keep up with it. If you see that things are going to work out, you may want to try to do the I-130.
Traviesa
Well the whole subject just got much more interesting, as you know already Charity. I don't know WHAT to do at this point-the alternatives presented are tempting, yet scary at the same time!!!!
Bootylicious
I know. I don't know what I would do in this case. Just think about all the options and all the pros and cons that go along with each one. That's all you really can do. You have to weigh out everything before you make a decision. You don't want to look back and say, why didn't I do this differently. I think if you go over each option and really think about each one, your decision won't be as hard as it seems right now.

Hola Comadres!

Benita: Sorry to take so long to answer. I have a total of 5 kids: Johnny 4, Destiny 11, Noemi 13, Ashley 14 and Dustin 16. Alberto and I don't have any together but he desperately wants one or two. He is great with my kids, especially with the youngest, he met him when Johnny was barely learning to walk. The problem is I would need to have a reversal, but will do it so we can start our team. I already told him one more is not a problem, maybe two. But more than that I will not have. He has never been married, and has no kids.

MissLiss: I know about the temptation, if the bill passes you may have a greater chance of getting approval if you are married. I guess we will have to wait and see if it passes and what kind of provisions it has that will benefit many people that are stuck with their cases.

I've almost given up hope in my case I am already making other plans, just in case things don't go our way. Does anyone know about having a religious ceremony in Mexico is that considered legally married? I really would like the religious ceremony to be there and maybe if he ever gets his visa come back and marry here through a Justice of the Peace.
Traviesa

I've just sent it to you.

I already have my wedding dress and bouquet and I hate looking at it. Sometimes I think the day will never come. I talk to Alberto and he seems really depressed, he wants me to go over there. I told him I would go as soon as the kids are out of school and go with their dad for summer break, then I will take Johnny with me and stay in Mexico until he is able to go to the consulate again. I still have some hope that something will happen during these weeks and we can just meet up in Juarez, instead. At the moment the CO is reviewing our case.
Traviesa
Yeah, I'll definitely give you a call. By the way, I have my wedding dress too..fortunately I don't have to look at it because it's at the parents' house. I will however be looking at my bridesmaid's dresses quite frequently since a friend of mine selected them for me to wear as her maid of honor.

Hey Bonnie... yes you are legally married once you have the ceremony. You will have to have a civil one and then do the church one. send inloveinmexico a PM. She was really helpful when I told her I was going to live in Mexico since she did it for so long.

That's good, Melissa! I just love weddings! Besides it will keep you busy for the moment, I'm about to lose my mind, but I will try to keep busy hopefully it will make the time go faster.

You are not legally married if you ONLY have a religious ceremony in Mexico. You have to have a civil ceremony (normally first), and never have to have a religious ceremony. The civil ceremony is conducted by the registro civil (civil registry) and is the moment the marriage license is given and is the only legal wedding. The religious ceremony issues no license and is not legal. Mexico's strict in a lot of ways on separation of church and state, and this is one of them - they aren't giving priests the right to issue marriage licenses. laughing.gif

My husband and I have 2 anniversaries, 3 months apart - April is our civil anniversary, and July is our church anniversary. But as far as US Immigration is concerned, we only have one - the April anniversary because it is the only that's legal.

I forgot to say - we obviously got married in Mexico - both the civil and the religious ceremony. I'll be glad to answer any questions to the best of my knowledge and recollection if you want to ask.

I might need your help soon...I'm still thinking in the "what if" terms of possibly moving to CDJ when the Advisory Opinion is denied or I give up.

Inlove: Javier's grandmother wants us to get married in the church in Mexico. What is involved with doing that? I would like to do it sometime when we are down there. Does it require a lot of planning or what?
InLoveInMexico
It's not that hard, but you'd probably need to go at least one visit before you want to do it, so you can talk to the priest and find out what he'll require as far as paperwork and preparation.

You'll have take the required marriage preparation class. That's even for people who are already married civilly. In our parish in Mexico, it was a weekend class (8-hours on Saturday and 6 hours on Sunday I think). Most priests will require you go through it before you can get married, but I think occasionally you can find a priest who will let that slide, but it's pretty rare.

You'll have to also take paperwork to show you've never been married before canonically (this means religiously) and I think your baptismal certificate.

Each priest is different on what they require though usually. SOme of them might even work with you to get all the preparation and the ceremony done in one visit if you're lucky, but it's not likely.
Bootylicious
Okay, next question. I have been married before here in the US. So does that mean we can't get married in the church down there? I have been baptized but don't have a certificate. I don't think our church does that. I am not catholic, just wanted to do it to please his abuelita. We are going for 12 days in December, if we can do it, do you think that is enough time?
