I don't have details yet, but I'm thinking I would be in Khartoum or some other more stable part of the country. I guess one of my biggest questions is as a foreigner am I expected to cover my hair?

I did a horrible thing last night...........I weighed myself! Why the torture?

Well, I didn't know that Bassi used the battery from the remote control to power the scale because he wanted to check his body fat (I told you he's into exercising and training....maybe planning a trip to the next Olympics). I nearly died when I'm clicking the clicker and no power then I open the back and NO BATTERIES!! I blamed the baby. Then Bassi fessed up and went and secured my batteries. There was a near war at my house last night!! I was trying to watch the honeymooners!

Good Morning Sub-Saharan Cyber Cafe.

One week from today and I'll be back into classes again and dreading Mondays. At least this is my last year of college. I'm having a 30th Birthday Party this Saturday before I go back to school. I made reservations at PF Chang's. So far 15 people are coming and about 5 still have yet to RSVP. I figured I do it now since my B-day is in September, during school, and I always miss having family and friends around.

I need to do that. I guess I took an unofficial break. Plus, Bassi opened the vaccination supplement from Dr. Arnold, so we had to send it out again. Luckily, she didn't charge the second time around. They're good people. I hope to get to it within the next two weeks. I feel bad cause his temp EAD is expiring in October and he just got info on a new job. I should've paid closer attention. He pretty much relies on me to take care of that stuff.

Inusah is going to apply for his SSN this week and then I think he is going to apply for jobs.

I found a place in Philly that will do the vacc. supplement for $25 so that made my day . I will have him go and get it done either today or tomorrow.

The ss card came pretty quickly here. I think he got it in about a week to a week and a half. I was surprised how quickly it arrived. What kind of work is he looking for? Bassi needs to join the union here to get work quickly. I think he may change fields. I'd love it if he did. I think the back breaking work can only go on for so long. As you get older you have to do something more sedate. I just can't imagine him doing office work though. How is Inusah about driving? Bassi is VERY nervous about driving here. He finds it intimidating and misses Accra!

My normal source of information is out of the country on summer holiday and I am clueless and really want to know. Joseph's father passed yesterday ( he was mid 70's ) I found out this AM as I was leaving the house and we were having our morning phone call.

Inusah is convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that he will never learn to drive in the US. According to hin it is too "organized". I would think it would make it easier to learn, but what do I know ? I got him the driver's manual to study so once he is done with that we can move forward with getting him a license.

As for a job, I'm not sure what he wants to do. We still have to look into that. He has done both manual labor and office work so I don't think he would have a problem doing either. I think he might do something different only because he is adventurous like that. Our priority right now is for him to start his Master's program (which reminds me, we need to get his degree evaluated).

Zee, yuk, school!! There are so many choices....it's hard to settle into something. But they don't have to "settle" they can do a little of this and a little of that. I think Bassi feels a "need" to work a little bit. Just to be doing something "manly". But, we're thinking of trying for kids next year, so working and going to school isn't going to work if he thinks he's not helping me with the house and kids! Okay?! I think I'm about to have an argument all by myself. Poor Bassi won't even know why I'm mad at him. I'm gonna go get an orange Sunkist and cool off.
