Busy day for me. I wanted to share with my Sub-Saharan peeps that I got offered a job today with a production crew doing a documentary for the UN. I'm not certain of the details but it has to do with a program the UN does where they sponser a group of ppl who go around Africa and teach the ppl to grow potatoes or something like that. I was approached by two of the producers for the project who are aware that I'm graduating next May with a BS in radio/tv/digital media production and a minor in foreign and international affairs. Also twice I participated in the UN simulations representing Africa so I learned alot about the issues there & I'm on the Borah Symposium committee which some of you know about. The only thing is the UN group we're traveling with is going into some of the most high risk areas such as Darfur, the Congo, and some other places they mentioned that I forgot about. I told them I was already traveling to Egypt next summer to be with my Husband and they said I could take him with me if he's allowed to travel around Africa with I believe he is. They asked what he does and I told them he's a Doctor and he speaks and writes fluent English and Arabic and he would be familiar with the Islamic customs in some of the regions we're traveling in so it would be very helpful. They litterly stood there with their mouths openned wide and stunned. Like it was meant to be! I don't know if my Husband would support all of this or if it's ligit but it sounds like it because they've been in production for 10 years and it's pretty awesome. They have a 10 month time frame.

So with that being said I'll be paying even more attention to Africa now.

Do you do documentary film-making?

We did have a long discussion about budget and time and they said it would be a good first job for me just out of college. Means they want to pay me low. But I don't really care because the experience would be good and my Husband can come along. We did discuss their equipment. I assumed since they bid on the project they already planned to use their equipment and just needed someone willing to go to those regions with the UN workers who had the skills and know how for the documentary.

I'm back from earlier.

I actually dozed off and dreamt that Paris Hilton was my babysitter and she let one of her friends injure my baby's arm. (Some how I had a baby even though I could legally be a grandma) Anyway Paris told my daughter (my real daughter) that she would sopoena my laptop and everything in my house and make me regret knowing her since I had the nerve to accuse her of endangering my child.

So I try in vain to get ready to go to the hospital with the baby and as you know, as much as I try to prepare something goes wrong each time and I can't get out of the house. My ex SO was there answering questions from the child protection agency because Paris had called and reported us as abusers for having too many sodas and junk food in the house. I was trying to get my ex to act responsibly with the investigators and he was acting like "duh" so I was in a hurry to get out of the house. I kept forgetting my skirt, my pants and so on. We then finally get in the car to drive and it turns out to be a donkey on wheels. Nevertheless I just kept going through one challenge to another challenge and I finally woke up. Now I'm angry with Paris Hilton and feel I should have just taken my darned baby to the hospital and not let her know what I was thinking ahead of time.

I'm back after going out for a while. I had to recover from the dream. Sylvia, to me it seems like they had to find something to pick at him for. I don't even remember who I met when and how. That is such a minor detail for anyone. The job function thing makes even more sense to me because many job functions are extremely unclear and do not even match the description. That was two sucky reasons they gave.

This has been a very difficult day for me. I managed to get to my congressmans office. I work at a DOD jpb and you just don't come home from those and say " Honey guess what I did today " even if you are married. He actually gave the same answer my son did when I asked him today what I do. ( computer stuff) Even now I am fighting huge waves of depression. Have to go about cancelling plans wedding ,camping ,visiting famliy , all the things we were going to do when he got here . Good thing there isn't any hard money tied up in those things.
