Well, I am going to be right where you are in a few years. I am soooo not in the going back to school mode but I really want to so I guess I am going to have to suck it up

I think going to school back to back to back really did me in. After I took my qualifying exam for my last grad program, I went straight to Ghana 2 days after for 3 months and came right back and started another grad program. I should have given myself enough time to "miss" school and then I think I would have been much better. I was already burned out during the last program and I did not allow myself enough time to recoup before throwing myself into another.

I am so glad I chose not to work summer school. I would be right now!!!

I thought changing my name was pretty easy. I happened to be off one day during the week and I made a list of all the places to change my name with. I also made about 20 copies of the marriage license, thinking every place would want it. The bank was the easiest, all they wanted was a copy of my marriage license, no forms to fill.

I hope all the people you need to change it with, don't give you a hard time.

Now that almost a year has passed, I find a few places I forgot to change my name with, it seems like a never ending process.

I don't believe you can change the number...only your name.

I didn't know I could change the number, so I just had the name changed. Except for having to wait for 1 or 2 hours to be called on at the ss office, it was real easy and I had the new card in the mail quickly.

Good....I have gotten attached to my ssn besides I can't imagine trying to memorize another set of numbers!

and yes, one can change their ssn but it needs to be for a good reason, like id theft. no, you don't change your ssn due to name change/marriage.

You must be pretty laid back. You waited 1-2 hours at the ss office alone and say the process was "easy". Girl, I'm a wired control freak!

I just came back from three weeks vacation. I can't take a day off now. But changing my name at work (reminder, I work in HR) and with my health insurance and pension required 7 forms along with copies of my certificate after I showed the original to the unit head. That's ANNOYING to me!! I wish I were as laid back as other people are. But I'm just NOT. I was hoping to go to SSA on my lunch break. 1-2 hour wait may make that impossible. I'll have to check my boss' calendar and see when she's in a long meeting or in a meeting out of the office, then I'll go.

So funny how we thought the same thing! It's official, Uno...I'm doing MYSELF a favor. Expect a package by next week.
